I've waited 30 years to replace the large triple window in my living room. I knew I wanted Thompson Creek windows and began the process a week ago. The sales rep, Graden Laycook, arrived at the appointed time and proceeded to display and explain the quality of TC windows. After measuring and explaining the installation process and warranty, I made an appointment to meet an installer, Brandon Murray, for a final measurement. Brandon arrived in a timely manner and verified the measurements. He, as Graden, was professional and courteous. I can't wait for the new window!! This company prides itself on customer service and Local production. Yet when they screw up and installation 90 days after my 1st request, my problem is still not resolved! 3 visits and 1 cancelation later. Only to find out they need to replace my entire storm door and they have to order it from an Ohio manufacture. Buy windows, maybe they can fix them. But 1st Service guy determined my door was installed wrong and then did not know they don't make the part to fix it. They sent a repair man again after he cancelled when his truck broke down, only to show up 4 days later to tell me he cannot fix it, but has to order a new door. Kudos to the weekend CS rep. She handle me well, but again I am waiting another 30 days for my repair. She told me someone would call on Monday to confirm my appointment to install the new door. No one called me. After 5 days I called them. Great follow up. Update: door came in and installed and had issues! Waiting another 30 days for another door. 120 days and counting. Fixed finally . Update.. 1 year later. And the hits keep happening. The storm door now has pulled away from the frame. Wood rotted, had guy come out and take a look. Did zero measurements . Why would they they have the original spec. I had to call 2 weeks later to get a install appointment 3 weeks out. The day before (today) they call and tell me they have not even ordered the needed material (door and frame) because they don't have the right measurements and need to send someone out. Which will take another 2 weeks. And another 5 weeks! Don't buy from TC unless you don't mind the wait. read more

Here is a summary of our experience with this company: PROS: Our initial interaction with the salesperson was very positive. We were able to get what we thought was a good deal on five windows. The sales process was very efficient and professional. The windows themselves are very beautiful and have made a big difference in our home. CONS: The window installation was delayed about five months because twice the company got the measurements wrong. Scheduling appointments for the installation was a nightmare because nothing was available for weeks. Every time someone came to try to install the windows it was a different team with no knowledge of this specific job. We never received the information on how to pay for the windows and ended up getting a call from a collections person regarding an unpaid Thompson Creek bill that we never received. The customer service person we were assigned to sounded very inexperienced and was unable to resolve any of our issues. ON BALANCE: Given how expensive the windows were, how difficult the process was and the fact that we spent the winter with a broken window as a result of their ineptitude, I would not recommend this company to a friend. read more

I had 10 windows at 3 sliding glass doors installed on Saturday 5/15/21. They were in around 9am and out by 5:30/6pm. Everything looks amazing and the workers were courteous and professional. I love my new windows!! read more

We want a sound proof / noise reduction window because of our bedroom windows is facing the street, we can hear every single car that drove by and sometime a very loud one will pass by, my husband have to get up early to go to work. The salesman show us a window sample that is a triple pane double hung with a very thick sound proof glass in it,( the glass is about 1/2" thick), and he told us that will take care of all the problems. excited and counting down the date, after a long wait, the windows finally arrived and installed, anticipated to the quiet night and morning, no more car noise...... come to our disappointment, we still able to hear all the car noise! loud and clear!!! then I carefully look at the windows, there no way that the glass is as thick as the one that was shown by the salesman, the glass looks about 1/4" thick or less, I call the salesman, and send email to the company, and I got a respond from the salesman that he is no longer with the company, and receive a phone call from the office,that she request some photos, which I did send, and then I received an email that telling me that is the right window, and the glass is thinker then normal! I request to see the sample again and then I got no respond from anyone, it has been 3 week after installation. read more

Requested a "Free" consultation to replace a storm door that needed a custom size and received an over two hour beyond-the-pale experience with a Thomson Creek rep. Here is a rough timeline of events. * Arrived over 30 minutes late because he decided to wing it by GPSing the wrong street (close, not quite) and was confused when he couldn't find our house number on the wrong street. * 3 minutes in: Claimed TCW does not do storm doors (the only reason we had him over) called boss to confirm that they do and how to find it on the tablet app. *5 minutes in: without explaining any product offerings, goes for it and asks how much we were willing to spend. I told him we knew the market and that's not how it works, he should show us a range of options and we go from there. *10 minutes in: while taking one height measurement of door opening confirms the obvious based on his demeanor and his breath that he "had a few beers over dinner" before coming over to the house. *15 min in: Drops a price and claims its a special on the cheapest door, either cannot or does not want to talk about other door options so I don't really know what i'm buying. I agree with him quickly just to get a contract and end the appt as soon as it can be done as it doesn't feel right. 20 min to 2 hours: He keeps fiddling with the tablet to rig the price to drop it down even further without explaining any reasons for doing so, even though we already agreed to the higher price. He does this 5-7 times. Meanwhile, his topics of conversation included but not limited to the following tried and true 'win friends and influence people' conversation starters: -When my wife and I will have our next kid -Projecting a stale sex life for us in the next few years based on how long we were married - A concerted and more diligent effort to recruit to a secret society than he was on inspiring confidence to buy a door. Following up with "otherwise, the next time we meet it won't be as pleasant." (I was too creeped out to as a follow-up question.) -Asking the same small talk type questions multiple times. The next day, I received the readout and it confirmed my suspicion. He was knocking down the price by inputting random specs, a standard size door which was over 6 INCHES too wide for the opening, no hardware or handles, etc and no required special mounting apparatus. It was a big waste of time. Feedback for TCW: I canceled the contract the next day while I could and was not asked any questions why from TCW managment--even a softball like 'what could we have done better?' I was going to suggest and was willing to get a different rep here for 30 min who knew the product and was going to quote a straight price, but since the opp wasn't floated I went elsewhere. Despite literally doing everything wrong in my experience, the rep was a nice enough guy and with better accountability for professional protocol, he could be a great salesman if he realized that winging it doesn't really work. But in TCW seemingly brushing it under the rug, it seems he will go on to not connect with serious buyers willing to risk four figures of their money for what was feeling like a scam with no earned competence from the customer in the company. Feedback for customers: In case you are curious, TCW does not make their own doors. Its a company called Provia, out of Ohio and TCW is an installer with other contractors in your area. Check out their offering online to request quotes from specific models that interest you, get multiple bids with Provia installers in your area. And if you want to go TCW route, tell a TCW rep you only have 30 minutes in your house to close the deal. read more

This company has been stuffing my mailbox and such for months. Last night two people from the company knocked on my door at 7:30pm (on a Friday night!) asking me about my windows, trying to give me a quote, want me to sign up for some quote that's good for however many months. First of all, if you come to the Hillwood Condominium community again and knock on my door I'm calling the police AND filing a lawsuit. We clearly mark "no solicitors" at the entrance. YOU ARE SOLICITING. Next time I will hold a really long conversation with your staff right after I call the police and keep you talking until they arrive. This was RIDICULOUS and they wouldn't let me shut the door and take "no" for an answer. Second, in this day and age you must be out of your mind to think someone will open their home for you to inspect the windows without having contacted you. I wouldn't let the pope in if he wasn't expected. Further, I was in the middle of a business call and I couldn't get the reps to go away no matter how many times I said NO, and I lost my potential client by putting them on hold. I urge you to NOT work with this company. They said "my neighbor" signed up for windows with them and that's why they were out. I know all my neighbors and they didn't give me the name of ANY neighbor living next to, above me, etc. SCAM. BE WARNED: Thomas Creek Windows... if this happens again, I'll see you in court. Tread carefully in condo communities that say "no soliciting". It's there for a reason. If I keep getting your mailings in my mailbox, I believe I have a harassment suit as well. For about the third time in a year I have be disturbed in a NO Solitation Property Owners Association of Cheasepeake Ranch Estates. I have informed all representative of this and told them they are trespassing. This time the rep said his manager got permission which security notified me they did not! Unless there is a package for delivery with my name and address on it then there is no reason for anyone to be on my porch uninvited ringing my door bell. I fear for the young children and elderly whom are alone as this cause security concerns. I notified the Property Owners Association Security to make rounds this time, but if this happens again will follow suit with Ashley C with a lawsuit. read more

PSA ANNOUNCEMENT. Warning to anyone looking to buy windows or anything else from the Thompson Creek Company. I spent many thousands of dollars with this company for several windows. I based this on all their so called quality of product and customer service. I had some trim on one of my windows fall off after being installed about a year. After called the customer service department to set up a warranty fix, I was told it will take almost 6 WEEKS before a guy can come buy to fix this. They said they were really backed and that was the earliest they could get out. Unbelieveable. The day of the fix I get a called from one of there quality control managers letting me know that they could not make my appointment due to the apparent fact they could not get a tech to go to their warehouse in VA to pick up the brown caulk for my job. You can imagine how upset I was about this. I told her this was beyond unacceptable. She said they will prioritize my concern and get it rescheduled asap. Another manager call me the following Monday and basically confirmed that this was not acceptable to me or how this company operates. He assured me this will be handle right away. Well almost a week goes by and NADA. I again called the local office and was told "I was just getting ready to call you Mr. Hollis".. Yeah right. I was told we have you sent up for the following Monday. I told her that was not acceptable under any circumstances and they had till this past Friday to get me taken of. Bump another customer, reschedule someone else, work late etc but the Friday was the last day before I take action. This lady relayed this to upper management and not suprizingly NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. Well Friday passed and I am now taking action. This is my first of two post to other review outlets, yelp is next, I also have a major complaint registered with their corporate head quarters. They have lost all my future business, any endorsements and the two friends of mind who asked me where I got my windows from, I have told them this incident and they will be looking elsewhere for window work. I too, am glad I didn't read any of the reviews prior to deciding on Thompson Creek. I had a great experience with them! Earlier this week they replaced a sliding glass door in my townhome. I was told to expect a 5 or 6 hour installation, but much to my surprise and delight, the installation went very smoothly and was completed in about 2 1/2 hours! The 2 installers were fast, efficient, professional and courteous. They even helped me take down and put up my vertical blinds, even though that was my responsibility. I am very pleased with the installation team (2 brothers) and with the sliding glass door. It slides easily and closes quietly. I highly recommend Thompson Creek to anyone considering new windows or sliding glass doors. read more

If could give more stars I would. To begin, a sales rep came to our house and took his time answering our questions and explaining the pricing. We were able to go through several designs and colors and actual samples to determine what met our needs. The sales rep did not give us false hopes or feed us a load of BS. In addition to getting a new front door we decided to get a rear door as well; this provided us an addition discount since we were getting both done at the same time. Once the installation team arrived a few weeks later they installed both doors quickly and actually left our living room spotless. They were prompt, informed and reliable. As for the product, we love our doors. Whenever my wife and I come home we have a sense of pride, our door is beautiful. In addition to the door, the entire frame was replaced. I highly recommend this service and will use them in the future. read more

Very disappointed in this investment! We went with Thompson Creek because they are local and so well reviewed and liked, but our experience has been atrocious. The company made errors in measurements so the project has been delayed. It took a five days for the project manager to finally get back to me about the install, and she was not that helpful. Neither she nor anyone else has ever reached out with an apology, explanation, or any offer of consideration for the trouble. Despite my investment over a month ago, the front of my house looks like crap. I have a broken window, which is why we started this process, my door looks awful because I had to remove my stormdoor in order for the original install (TC will not R&R a storm door that they did not sell), and it seems pointless to put it back up knowing I'll have to take it all back down again when they return with the correct door. To add salt to my wound, I'm getting letters from my HOA threatening fines and suits if I don't "clean up my front" to meet community standards. They even included a referral to a handyman because they think I haven't been trying to get it fixed. I've been trying to get my front fixed for over a month and it looks like it will be another month before it is actually done! Unless something changes, I will never use or recommend Thompson Creek to anyone, especially if you want your project done in a timely manner. I was in appreciation for the prompt reaction to my request of an estimate and later expedited installation, as I had a deadline to meet At my mother's property. My estimate went extremely well and I was impressed by the locally owned Thompson Creek company as well as its reputation for local on site manufacturing of custom windows. After other estimates I decided to go with this company and I'm very glad that I did. My first measurement crew, Brandon, was extremely nice and courteous to my mother. Later the installation team of Bill and Kyle German did an excellent job, Being very clean, efficient, and even helped me above and beyond the installation requirements. I was impressed to see the project manager come by to inspect the progress during installation, Jaye Lansing did an incredible job handling a small issue, she was a delight to deal with and extremely knowledgeable. After the installation I had proper follow up and I believe my pricing was good compared to other companies. Thompson Creek has control of its education and processes across all of its employees and I was in extremely impressed by their knowledge and expertise. Just a warning, if you are asked to sign something just to have someone come out to get a more accurate measurement, they are really having you sign a contract. You have a week to cancel it. I was asked to sign this on a tablet that was very hard to read, after a 3 hour sales pitch that exhausted me, i stupidly didn't ask more questions or read what I was signing closely-I skimmed it-I signed, what I signed was not sent to me. A friend told me this is a tactic, so I called to cancel then put it in writing. Never received what I signed. Because of this dishonesty, I went with their competitor. read more

This is the most dishonest company I have ever worked with. I signed a contract for a Z bar, 36 inch storm door, which they recommended. They called and said they needed to change the door 'handle' we had selected. That didn't make much sense to me, but I selected another handle. There was NEVER a discussion about changing the door itself. They set up the appointment to install the door, when the Installation was completed, I pointed out that the door did no fit right. It was inset into the door frame from the outside of the house. After a lengthy discussion and my pointing out to them that the door was too small, the installer finally admitted that he had installed the wrong kind of door. He installed an Expansion door, not a Z bar door. He admitted to me that he called the company prior to the installation but was told to continue with the installation. I was not happy and I did not sign the paperwork when it was presented to us by the installer. After the installer left, I measured the door and discovered that it was a 34 inch door, not a 36 inch door as specified in my contract. I took photos, wrote emails, even sent a letter from a lawyer to Thompson Creek. The company insisted they could not provide a door that would work. They stated the reason they installed a different door from the one specified in my contract and originally recommended to me was because the door manufacturer told them a 36 inch Z bar door would be too big and would not work. They agreed to send representatives out to see what could be done with the installed door. They sent three different representatives out to my house, they all said the installed door was the best they could do and they could make some adjustments to make it a 'little' better. I rejected their offer, I told them to come get their door and I was not going to pay for it. I then called Lowes, who sent a representative to my house, measured, and said a 'standard' off the shelf 36 inch Z bar storm door would fit perfectly!!! All for less than half the price of what Thompson Creek was going to charge me in our contract. Lowe's did install a 36 inch Z bar door in less than 30 minutes which fits perfectly!!! In summary, I had three on-site representatives from Thompson Creek tell me they couldn't make the door they installed nor the door that I contracted for, fit correctly. We had originally contacted Thompson Creek because we thought they were suppose to be a 'high-end' company. Not so, in my opinion. They installed a door which was not in my contract, they never told me they changed the size nor type of door from that specified in my contract, and they continued to insist they couldn't provide me a door that would work but would try to make the door they installed a little better? Either, they clearly did not know what they were doing OR they were too cheap and dishonest to correct a mistake which they alone created by installing the wrong door to begin with, then claiming the door they recommended and specified in a contract would not work either. I would NEVER do business with this company again!!!! Beware, you may not get the products installed that are specified in your contract and good luck in getting them to satisfactorily rectify the problems created as a result. Greg F. read more

In spite of the high marks I gave for the windows and other work previously...I got a roof estimate from Thompson Creek. And...it's unbelievable. The "sale" or "special" price I was given was $20,000 over most of the other quotes I got from roofers. In fact, I told the sales rep, "I don't want a kitchen remodel or a new deck; I just want to replace the shingles on my roof." He stuck with his special price of $28,000 for asphalt shingles. I was nearly speechless. But I found enough energy to show him the door. read more

Great Gutters! My experience in getting gutters could not have been better. Received a prompt estimate, on time arrival for installation, took less time than estimated and the work area was fully cleaned before departure. The gutter product is amazing. I have many 60+ foot tall trees in my back yard and need to clean out the gutters frequently in the spring and fall. This is no longer necessary. Water runs freely all the time and they look amazing. Totally happy with all aspects of this project. read more

Extremely disappointed in their service after our patio doors were installed. Weeks later the bottom of the door frames started to show what looked like mold. They sent someone out to take a look and was told it was due to our windows above the patio doors needing to get repaired. I asked if they could change the frame and they refused and said they could change my windows instead. Seriously! I just spent several thousands on 2 separate patio doors and they wanted me to spend more! Unbelievable! I know the mold was not due to the windows because we had the same windows and patio doors for years and years and the previous wooden frame never showed mold until they were replaced with whatever material Thompson Creek uses. They just care about getting the deal but thereafter they seems to forget customer service. I will never do business with them again and neither should you. Beware! read more

I recently had Thompson Creek install a new front door on my townhouse. The process could not have gone smoother from the sale all the way through follow-up after installation. Their sales team was very easy to work with over email and on the phone. They were able to virtually provide a quote based on pictures I sent of my existing door and my HOA requirements. They were also able to provide a recommendation on the type of door I needed since my house gets hit with sunlight all day (we went with fiberglass since our wood door was cracking and steel would have been too hot). Once we signed the contract, a guy came out to get exact measurements. He was very pleasant and upfront about any concerns he had. We have very unique molding on the inside of the house and he said he would order replacements free of charge in case any of the existing was damaged. They did have to replace some of it (not their fault, I blame the original builders of the house), but most of it was kept in tact. During the installation, the workers communicated with me throughout the process. The project lead had a question about the color chosen for the door frame and had his boss come out to discuss if we wanted any last minute changes. We didn't end up changing anything, but I appreciated them being proactive on bringing it to my attention and willing to be so flexible. Throughout the entire process and the few days following the installation the communication has been top notch and very professional. I was happy when they followed up via email after the installation with my documents to get my tax refund - always nice to have the reminder on where I can get some money back! Highly recommend! We are beyond pissed. The first 2 pics are from the beginning of October. We were told by Thompson Creek they could not get anyone out until December 6 to -assess- the situation. I've called several times after voicing concern that it would get worse. Well, yesterday it did... This siding was installed in 2016! This should not be happening! I called again yesterday and was told they still can't do anything until next week and they are booking out even further into Jan now. Which means they won't be out to actually fix the problem until then. I also stated I wanted to file a complaint but was told that they would "make a note on the account that the condition was getting worse".. Worse!? Half the siding is off the side of the house! This NEVER should have happened! My neighbor said his siding is 30 years old and it's still attached to his house. I asked if we would be charged, there is a 50 year warranty on the siding,  and was told they wouldn't know until someone came out to look at it.. I shouldn't have to pay a dime for this! This is completely a poor installation issue.. 50 years my foot! It hasn't even been 3 years! read more

I remodeled 6 homes in the past 6 years and have NEVER had such a poor customer service experience! My windows have been installed only three months. The sliding glass doors leaked from day one due to poor installation, the screens were warped and have just found a second window with a broken seal. It took 6-10 phone calls to get someone out to the job site for each issue. The warranty means nothing if the hassle of getting them to stand behind it is unbearable. read more

We're in the middle of our second project with Thompson Creek ("TC"). When we purchased our house, it had been partially renovated - new drywall, kitchen, updated bathrooms and garage. However, the doors and windows were all at least 25-30 years old - single pane glass. Our first project, about a year ago, was replacing our sliding glass door. The door was reasonably priced, the installation was done in a single day, and the entire process was characterized by professionalism and competence. Our second project, which is in progress (contract signed, manufacture and installation pending) is replacement of our windows. TC did not give us the cheapest overall price (they were close to the lowest estimate, but still only second-lowest), but in terms of bang-for-the-buck (functionality, NFRC ratings, their excellent warranty), it was a much better value for only slightly more than the lowest estimate. Some people have commented that they think TC uses high-pressure tactics. We didn't experience that in either sales pitch. In particular, Patrick, our window salesman, was very professional and straightforward. He did want us to buy windows from TC, and wanted to convince us to buy from TC, but that's a salesperson's job. I will say that I can understand how an unprepared consumer could feel overwhelmed about the sheer volume of information presented. The best way to do business with TC, if you are particularly sensitive to people trying to convince you to buy things, is to do some background research first - being conversant in the basics of whatever you're having replaced helps limit how lengthy the presentation is - and schedule their estimate last. I was very upfront about the fact that there were competing offers and what those offers were. Talking honestly about what your price expectations are - and knowing what those expectations are in the first place - ensures that no one's time is wasted. Last year, we replaced our sliding door; this year, our windows. Entry doors will probably come next year, and when it's time, we'll definitely see what TC can offer. read more

I've used Thompson Creek Window Company for two houses with windows. They do a phenomenal job, they are well priced, professional, and efficient. We did the front of our home right after a huge snow storm, when the snow melted, they came back to be sure the site got cleaned up since the snow hid some debris on the ground. I like the flexible pricing too. I've locked in my pricing for windows on my house for two years and will do the windows in thirds as my budget allows. I appreciate the flexibility and the excellent windows we've gotten, already we can tell a difference. The new windows are so easy to open, safe for my kids bedroom, and keep the hat and cold out like a dream. I love Thompson Creek! read more

I haven't even dealt with them yet and I'm giving 1 star. I put a request for quote up two weeks ago. I don't want a huge sales pitch, just wanted to get a ballpark of whether or not what I wanted was even possible. Within a day, I received a call during work. Couldn't answer, but figured I'd call back after work. I had two missed calls just that day and when I got home I forgot to call back. But TC hasn't. They have called me at least once if not twice a day for the last two weeks. Now by day three, i decided this practice was way too sketchy to proceed with them. Yet the calls and voicemails keep on coming. Any company that calls and leaves messages two to three times a day is obviously up to no good. My recommendation is to not request a quote online unless you want to be harassed. Luckily I never had these guys come out because based on these reviews this company is a nightmare to work with. I feel lucky to have dodged a bullet. Will update when the voicemails stop to inform everyone how long they will call 2-3 times a day. It's ridiculous. UPDATE: it's been 6+ weeks of calls. Clearly if they are cold calling someone who hasn't responded to any Cala in over 6 weeks they are not interested. This company is a scam. read more

The sales pitch was great and for the most part the staff was really nice, but as others have stated, the finishing craftsman ship was poor. The windows have visible nails and scuff marks and the latch portion wasn't fully screwed into the frame in one place. I also got a door and had issues getting the door frame the right size and then they had poor scheduling and then they left divots in the door frame that apparently are "always" there from nailing in the trim that they can't cover up. I wanted to like them, I wanted to use them again to get the rest of the windows for my house, after more than 6 weeks of trying to get things right from the initial install, I am just not going to try any more. read more

I told them we wanted wood only windows and it took them 15 minutes to admit that they didn't even offer any. Now they come by our house every three months and hard sell us at our front door. Full disclosure, I ended up not purchasing from TC Windows. This review is intended more for the company and possible future buyers to get a feel for how this company sells. I called TC based on a recommendation from one of my neighbors who had purchased a sliding glass door from TC several years ago and was happy. My particular project included all Windows, a sliding glass door, and a storm door for my front entryway. I scheduled an appointment for a TC consultant to come out to the house, and two guys showed up, one appeared to be training. As mentioned in other reviews, these guys have an unnecessarily long sales pitch, but the sales guy was at least courteous enough to appreciate my time somewhat. He ended the demo when I said I'd seen enough. The windows seem ok, and I felt the sales guy was knowledgeable. Getting into why I didn't buy from this company. First and foremost, the things they were stressing as their primary differentiators seemed to be the most complained about things about this company: installation quality and most importantly, service. Second, they tried to close me on a price I told them was 20% higher than a premium, name brand competitor. Third, their follow-up was bizzare at best. First, the stories of the service pain from this company are everywhere. Now, I understand online reviews can't begin to highlight where things went great, but I started to get it just through the sales experience. It was eerily reminiscent of the stories of service follow through. Second, the guy tried to close me right then and there on a $20k+ price tag. I asked him if that actually worked, and he said 'all the time.' Mind you, I'd never spoken to this person and made it clear I was shopping options. This is a huge decision for most people I imagine, and I just thought it was extremely tacky compared to TC competitors. After the in-home consult, I never heard from the guy ever again. He asked me when I would make a decision, and I told him by the end of the following week. I didn't hear a thing, but kept getting calls with no voicemail multiple times a day for 2-3 straight weeks (I only knew who was calling after I finally Googled the number). Never a message, never an email follow-up, then it just stopped. I presume it's because the "deal" I was offered expired at the end of Memorial Day weekend as he tried to tell me. Suggestion, take your sales consultant and have him own it all the way through. And leave a voicemail. I chose their competitor because the other company had the same sales person who was courteous, listened to what I wanted, followed up, didn't bash competitors, and honored his "Memorial Day Price" even though I told him I wouldn't sign until I got HOA approval which came after the promo period. No pressure, it was great. I just got all my new windows and doors installed, and the process was easy, clean, and I'm happy. Just one sales person to another, this was just weird and seemingly shady. Stop using Glengarry Glen Ross as training. Consumers have evolved. read more

Until early last week my wife and I were big fans of Thompson Creek. Would have been happy to recommend the company to our neighbors. Sure, their entire sales approach is annoying in the extreme - well documented in other Yelp reviews. But, must say their product and their installers are first class. We had all the windows and the front door assembly replaced in our house as well as most of the shutters. Way more pleased than last home where we had Pella replace the windows. BUT - last week I called TC to request an estimate for replacing the rest of our shutters which deteriorated badly in the last year. OK, but -- call back from TC saying they do not send sales personnel out for just shutters -- call service instead. OK, BUT -- person on service line says they would not do a shutter estimate unless we pay $135 up front (to be applied to job if estimate approved). I was astonished they would ask an established (and I think good) customer to pay for an estimate and said we would seek other sources. The gent was taken aback and asked to place me on hold while he checked options. Several minutes later -- "need to talk to the manager. We will call you back tomorrow." Zero call -- 10 days later. I would have been unhappy had they called and said they were sticking to their policy of asking loyal customers to pay for estimates. I am totally unhappy that they blew me off entirely. Sure, we are unlikely to make another big TC investment in our home - pretty much done everything already. Guess they missed the thought that goodwill is often considered an asset to any business. Had sales reps going through my neighborhood offering their services door to door. They leveraged the classic 'your neighbor up the street, the "ZZZZ's" talked with us... great. Sales rep that was on my doorstep was no better than a used car sales person that wasn't requested. Since the windows on my house are pretty recently updated, the due started to pitch me on their door services by telling me: 1. The front door to my house, while old, has now 'ameliorated (not sure he knew what the word actually meant)' and then backed up and said the doors were now warping and trying to 'jump' out of my house. He pointed to some cracked caulking between the door frame and the siding of the house. Yeah. 2. Starts running his hands through some dirt in the door sill - and telling me that it's wood rot. Uh huh. Frame is just fine.. dirt is dirt. If you want a vendor who will outright lie to you to sell you something, this seems like the kind of company you should call! read more

We are very happy with our Thompson Creek windows and the installation day. The windows are obviously high quality and have features that will make them easier to maintain forever - smooth surfaces won't collect dust and the tilt feature for cleaning. We found their prices competitive with other estimates even though the windows are better quality. The new windows replace seventeen 20-year-old "replacement windows" and the upgrade is amazing. Much quieter in the house and the new glass blocks the heat from the sun. We chose windows without the grids and love the unobstructed view. The installation day went great on a cool February day. The crew was quick at getting the new windows in place to close up the house. The finishing details around the windows are as good as new. Can't go wrong with Thompson Creek and we would do it again. read more

Do they perform the job right? I'm sure they do. However, I wasn't able to reach that step, because the price they gave me was almost double qualified competitors. You hear their ad on the radio all the time, talking about how (paraphrasing) their prices are low because they make their windows in-house, or something like that... but really, they charge a lot higher. I'm not saying to not go with them, but if you are budget conscious, I recommend getting a few other estimates to compare it to first. We had good experience with Thompson Creek Window several years ago. Recently we are experienced roof leaking, and found out this company also do roof, so decided give it a try. The appointment was yesterday 6:30pm. The sales person showed up early. Due to my husband haven't arrive home, so he said he is going to look around the house and knock on my door after 6:30pm. By the time my husband also came back. My husband explained what we been through recently and what's wrong with our roof. First of all, " we don't do part of repair job, but we can replace the whole roof" he said. I was shocked! We did not expect that type of repair money. Ok! we spent few hours to hear the sales talking about how they will repair the whole roof. Then, finally the numbers came up from his ipad, $35000! My jaw dropped! Then he said, okay! I can do for you and give you 35% discount, so the price down to $24500. Well, my husband told him we need to talk about it and if he can leave an estimate, so we can call him next few days. Then he start acting angry, and said" what can I do to get your business? You give me a number, then I can call my manager and get his permission." My husband explained to him due to long day and it was already 9PM, we both are tired and hungry, we also need to have dinner and think about the number. The sals person did not take No for no. He still keep pushing and wanting us to sign the contract. Who is gonna sign a contract that cost $24500 just for 3 hours sale pitch? The point that salesperson told us once he leaves our house, he is not allow to touch our project! What a horrible company policy! The company also told their sales that once they leave customer's house, no one will call back. Well! If your salesperson acting angry in the end, who is gonna call back?!! If your product is that great, you don't even need to push, also, if you are honest about the quote, you don't need to go through bargain with all your clients. We recently had a door installed I wish I had read the reviews on TrustPilot before we got the door I had never heard of Trustpilot till I was asked to write a review I think the company should stick with windows . We were not happy with the service The sales people are good and promise you everything but once they have sold you the product it is difficult to get anyone Our problems a) They never got our name right Despite correct it numerous times they spell it however they like Maybe it sounds petty but I think it shows an "uncaring" attitude b) Trying to call them when we had a problem was a nightmare we got cut off several times , and transferred numerous times When we finally talked with someone we were promised they would look into the situation and get back to us We are waiting and we hope she does c) Our alarm system was cut off and when the Alarm company came they said the installer had move the wires to the other side and in order for him to reconnect it he would need to drill a hole and that would probably void our warranty on the door and also not look good Well we had to switch to another system - added expense ! d) Other things relatively minor (maybe not !) the door has a dent the molding has paint chipped and there is white paint along the margins the wall is a pale sage green ! My husband is not happy On the positive side The installer came on time and was pleasant although it was difficult to communicate with them . He did clean up and did not leave a mess. Will I recommend them ? I am not sure I believe they do a good job with windows but as far as doors - I think the jury is out read more

Can someone tell me if I am dreaming. Thompson Creek rep came by to provide an estimate for 2 70"X70" windows. The wall needs to be cut and windows inserted. This is what rocked my world literally. I must have been in a coma and just woke up. He quoted $24000 and stated that this is major construction. Are you kidding me. That's the cost of a house in some places and the cost of a new car. I completed my 1200 square foot basement with a custom kitchen and granite countertops, hardwood floors, to include drywall, electrical and plumbing by certified people and complete bathroom for $33K and installing 2 windows is major construction. These people think that we are uneducated about the industry. Selling point; windows are guaranteed for 50 years, who gives a heck after the first 10 years. 84 Lumber sells the windows for $380 per window and a licensed contractor inserted them for $2000 per window. Now get this, if I signed that day, I would get the discount of the month: $16K total. If the windows were bullet proof maybe I would consider.
