Due to the current pandemic, I've been looking for more outdoor activities. So, when my mom, fiance and I were on a mini-road trip, we definitely wanted to make a stop at the Thomasville Rose Garden. Thomasville, Georgia is near the Florida/Georgia boarder and dubbed itself the "City of Roses." Visiting this beautiful (and free - I love free!) rose garden near Cherokee Park made me agree with Thomasville's self-appointed nickname. This peaceful garden is full of beautiful and fragrant roses with a cute gazebo in the middle and benches sprinkled throughout. There is also a public restroom nearby and water fountains. It was interesting to see the variety of colors roses come in and some of the names they are given. Some roses are named after celebrities, some are named after animals (yes, there is an "iguana" rose) and some names make you wonder how in the world they named some of these roses (like, Crazzy One or Big Fun). I'm also sure that this garden is the backdrop for many engagement pictures, proposals and the like (again, it's free and it's beautiful). We'll definitely come here again when we're crossing state lines! read more

We visited in July, so it was not the peak time of year for the garden, but there were still a lot of beautiful flowers! The gazebo and the huge trees with Spanish moss were lovely as well. I wish I'd had more time to spend in the park, because the whole area had a very relaxing vibe and the little bridges over the lake looked nice to walk on. I hope to come back during the Rose Festival. read more

July 3,2017 I like coming here to smell the roses and enjoy the scenery in perfect serenity. I could spend all day here if it was not so hot at this time of year. It is one of my favorite and the most beautiful of all places to visit in Thomasville. Roses are one of my favorite flowers, and the views and fragrance of these roses will blow you away. read more

Beautiful flowers. I especially liked that on this rainy day that you could actually drive around the main garden and still see lots of flowers... roses in bloom. The gazebo was interesting. read more

Very nice garden, also connects to Cherokee Park which has a great pathway to walk along the lake, tons of geese and ducks and great picture spots. read more

About a five minute drive from downtown and adjacent to the park. Lots of roses in bloom. I've definitely seen better kept gardens and I wished I had had my pruning shears with me but still a nice detour in after in is rose City. read more
