The scope of the work was to remediate a mold problem that had been discovered by a plumber. Sky personnel spent about two weeks drying out the house, running dehumidifiers and fans. Although the workers' struggled with a lack of leadership, in the end, the work was completed to my parents' satisfaction. However, in the process of removing cabinets from the kitchen to gain access to dry out the house, they destroyed two cabinets (one of which houses the oven and microwave). Because the cabinets were disposed of, the cabinets were unavailable to be used as a pattern to construct replacement cabinets. My parents received a verbal quote from Sky to complete the second phase of the project, which involved reinstalling the cabinets and appliances, repairing the walls and replacing the flooring. However, after receiving the quote, they didn't hear from Sky for almost a month. During that time, they had no hot water, no air conditioner, no stove and no oven, making it very difficult to carry out the activities of normal, everyday living. When Sky finally did get back to my parents, they provided an estimate of $32,000 to replace flooring, walls and the damaged cabinets and reinstall the microwave and oven. In desperation, my parents called a local contractor who completed the work (except for the replacing the cabinetry and reinstalling the stove and microwave) for less than half of the Sky quote. Over three months later, the cabinets are not finished as my parents had to contract with a local cabinet maker to reconstruct them. While I think that Sky is competent to remediate damage, I think I feel potential customers should consider using a different contractor for reconstruction work.

They tried to charge me for services not rendered. They never returned thousands of dollars worth of property. The manager told me via telephone that he would make it right, after I discovered how much was missing. I formed a list and values of our belongings that were not returned and he did not honor his word, but instead accused me of lying, questioning each item on my list. Directives were not followed as they cleaned items they were told to leave. In some of the items they did clean, they caused fading. They also washed expensive clothing items that were dry clean only. They removed totes from storage that were immaculately packed, returning them jumbled with items from all areas of our 4000 sq. ft. home. Over 90 percent of the boxes they packed were not marked by room, nor were they even marked upstairs or downstairs. Some of those moving boxes had one item. I assume to get their box count. Another specific example of them getting their count for the insurance was a dust rag that had been cleaned and hung on a close hanger under plastic. Many of the items that were returned were broken. My husband and I are seniors and we hired this company in good faith. The work they did as "first responders" was criminal. I did not pursue financial restitution, because of the response I received from the manager. I just couldn't handle more stress. I would never hire them for anything ever again. I advise everyone to run as fast as you can to avoid doing any business with whatsoever.

Came back 2 days later for some touch up as the last thing he said to us was if there is anything we didn't like or wanted fixed to just call, that he stands behind his work 100% and it is so true... my wife says it's the best money we've spent in a long time!
