Grand Strand Vacations

Grand Strand Vacations

We loved the location of our unit (Ocean Pointe A2), but the mattresses in all of the bedrooms were…read moreseriously worn out and uncomfortable. In addition, several of the mattress covers had disgusting stains. The dishwasher was broken and the dishes in the cabinet still had dried food on them as a result. Upon our arrival we had to wash mattress pads and dishes. The dishwasher was replaced the day before we left. This would be a great unit with some furniture upgrades and paint on exterior doors. Another concern that I have is the length of time it takes to have the security deposit returned following check out. With the concerns we had with our unit, I am not sure why I have to wait a full month to receive my $250 security deposit. That is entirely too long for them to hold a customer's money as I am sure the condo was assessed for damages upon check out. I was told the reason for the month-long wait was to ensure "people had not made long distance phone calls or charged up movies." I made the suggestion that in 2023, people do use cell phones and their own streaming services, so the policy seems outdated. THE BIGGEST ISSUE with Grand Strand Rental - Ten minutes after posting on another site a three-star review with the concerns mentioned above, I received perhaps the most unprofessional phone call from someone in management at Grand Strand Vacations. I was told that these issues were not reported, which is completely inaccurate! I have never been spoken to in such a rude manner. It was a COMPLETE LACK of professionalism. Do yourself a favor and look at their reviews on other sites as well. I would never use this rental company again!

When the…read moreowner was questioned she got very angry, rude and could care less about customer satisfaction. They ask me for a review and the following is how I rated Ocean Pointe A2 in Cherry Grove on 6/24/23. I fully understand that things break, however the dishwasher being broken wasn't something that just happened, too many dishes placed back in the cabinets filthy. (A health hazard). It had been that way for a good while. Dirty (with blood) mattress pads should never happen if properly checked between renters, we had to wash 3 before making the beds. A 25 year old microwave with missing turn table tray is useless and should have been replaced when the parts were no longer available. If listed in equipment it should be in working order. The linoleum tile flooring was dirty and in bad need of a good cleaning, socks and bare feet got dirty from walking around on the floors after showering. All of the mattresses need replacing and weren't comfortable. The living room furniture was worn out also, you just sunk down in it and difficult to get out of. All the exterior doors were rusted, not a good first impression. I can over look a lot of this units cosmetic imperfections, however cleanliness and comfort are very important to renters. The dishwasher was replaced on Friday evening but too late to benefit us. The worst part is that none of these ratings are showing for future renters, they are covering up the true ratings and hiding issues. We will never rent from them ever again!

We have rented from the other big condo management corporation for over a decade. After last years…read moreheadache with the "E" company, we went with Thomas. We're converted. Our condo had an issue with the cable, and Jocelyn and Roselyn did not stop until it was fixed AND refunded some of our rental payment for the trouble. They went above and beyond, and earned my loyalty. We stay in Cherry Grove every year, sometimes multiple times. We are also in the market to purchase a property and we will certainly buy through Thomas and allow them to manage our property for rentals. The property we rented for the week was just as advertised. No bait and switch, no hidden fees. My only problem is that I have to leave! My view for the last week has been the ocean... tough to say goodbye! The staff at Thomas is friendly, helpful, and hard working. They are local, and can you provide you with a good pizza delivery recommendation if your favorite pizza joint shuts down unexpectedly... (We miss you Luckys!!!!).

No…read morebig deal, except for the fact that even though I had received 3 emails from their office the week prior to check in and spoken with someone on the phone - nobody mentioned the fact that the street in front of their office would be closed for a street festival. We had to come in a back way and park in the back of the lot, leaving the car running, to avoid getting a ticket. Once we were called back and told the room was ready the attendant just handed me the envelope and said enjoy your stay. I thought to myself - self - this is easy - but then I thought, how do we get there? So I asked. She nonchalantly said that directions were in the envelope. However, then another lady at a desk spoke up and said that I should not follow those directions and should instead take an alternate road about 12 streets before the one on the written directions. She never said why, but she said we would not be able to get through there. I think now it was because the street the resort is on is off the same street (cross highway) that the Alabama theater is in, so we might have hit traffic, but still not 100% sure. Once we made it to the resort we were not really sure where to park to unload our car or what building we were going to be in. We looked around for signs and did not see anything that made any sort of sense. A man in a uniform helped us read codes on our paperwork to locate the tower and suggested we move our car to the other side of the parking lot to make unloading easier. We made it up to our room and round the room clean and spacious. However, when I checked for the linen package we'd paid for I saw there were none. I called and listened to the elevator music until someone picked up and seemed shocked there were no linens and sort of huffed their way off the phone. She said someone would be over soon. We had no choice but to wait in the room until they arrived. It took about an hour. I asked this person about the check in room rating/liability sheet and she said someone would be back to pick it up tomorrow. I thought that was weird, but whatever. That night when we went to leave the complex we realized the entrance we had come in through was closed and said it was for emergency vehicles only. We literally had to google satellite view our way out of the complex since we'd been given no map of the area or given any information about the primary entrance. The next couple of days were fine, but by Monday morning we were wondering what we were supposed to do with the trash. It was piling up and we were running out of room to put things. We called the complex's front desk and they said maid service would pick it up. Again, I thought this was strange, because I did not think we had any maid service. When all of our trash was still there on Tuesday I decided to call back Century 21 Thomas and wait on their phone for them to tell me what to do. The associate who answered the phone was again - not so nice - and did not seem to mind that they were totally inconveniencing us by having to call them all of the time. They finally agreed they'd bring us a trash key after I refused to drive to their office (some 20 blocks north) to pick it up. Again, we had to wait in the room for the key to arrive. The key finally came around 3pm and the fellow took the paperwork and cleaned mold from the guest bath ceiling vent. However, when we went to attempt to use the key in the trash room door - it did not fit, and again we were stuck with the trash. I called back to Century 21 Thomas on Wednesday and was again greeted by a less than cheerful associate. She was unsympathetic with the trash key issue and then finally admitted that they could not find the key and that we should just leave the trash outside the door and that someone would come pick it up. Mind you that this is a very nice resort and the hallways look like a cruise ship, so I felt kind of bad piling up garbage outside of our room, but what other choice did we have? What I want to know is what key did they give us Tuesday - a key that they knew was not the right key? I feel bad for the owners of the condo because they are paying for a service that Century 21 is not providing. This place seems to not have their act together and to be very unsympathetic with their customers who are paying large amounts of money to stay on vacation. I will definitely return to the beach and stay at North Beach Plantation, but we will not rent from Century 21 Thomas.

Beware, looks are deceiving. When we arrived at the property we were thrilled. Then everything…read morestarted falling apart around us as the week went on. We noticed broken patio furniture, broken pool light, no batteries in the remotes, weird smell in the laundry closet, wasps nests on the balconies and other fairly minor annoyances. Then the big stuff started. Huge leak in the ceiling running the length of the bed dripping on us in the middle of the night and continuing thru the week. We had to move the furniture to stay dry. And last but certainly the reason I would never book with Thomas again, we had rats! They came out the last night of our stay. We caught 3, killed 2 and left one for evidence as we were hurriedly packing to get out of there. As this happened late at night the Thomas people were "unable to place us somewhere else" so we made our own arrangements (party of 13, not an easy feat) and preceded to try to rectify the problem with Thomas the following day. Not only were we treated poorly by the manager, Ken at Thomas, but we were not offered adequate compensation for what we had to put up with. He repeatedly stated that "we had a full week" and "he didn't need to see our pictures" and there was "nothing he could do". We were devastated and left knowing next time to do more homework and to never, ever let our family, friends or acquaintances book with Thomas beach vacations again!

I arrived at about 4:36pm went inside waited on line to check in. When I got to the front I gave my name and the woman informed me that my rental hadn't been cleaned yet. I informed her that this was unacceptable and her response was, "well we sent you a text message". I'm sorry but I have been on the road with my two young kids since 2:30am and I DID NOT receive a text message. There was no apology given just an attitude telling me that they sent me a text message. This was strike number 1. Strike number 2 was when our condo was finally ready we picked up our keys and parking pass (the parking pass had the incorrect check out date and Thomas Beach vacation rental told me we had to go into Prince Resort to get it fixed,Fine whatever I said). We walk into the condo and it's filthy!!!!!!!! There was MOLD all over the shower curtain, the floors were not swept/cleaned ( my socks were black after 3 mins walking on the floor!!) and the cleaning products were simply left out and not put away. So I of course contact Thomas Beach vacation rentals and it's after hours bc our condo wasn't ready on time so I have to wait for their after hours service to answer. I inform the woman on the phone about how filthy the condo was and she didn't apologize just said she would send house keeping to clean in then hung up on me! Again no apology was give! I began to unpack and get my kids beds ready when I noticed there were NO bed linens!!!! This was strike 3!!! So again I call the after hours service it's now 6:30pm!!!!!! I tell the woman that I have no bed linens how are we supposed to sleep on the beds without linens??? She then gives me an attitude and nastily asks "did you purchase the linen package?" I informed her that I did and with an attitude told me that my linens were on the way then again hung up on me!! Once again no apology for the inconvenience was given!!! When house keeping came the guy was very nice and apologetic. He could not believe when I showed him the mold on the shower curtain. He came with only one set of bed linens (there were 3 beds in the condo). Thankfully the house keeping guy called and was able to get us the other two bed linens! Strike 4 came when on July 17th we left the condo to go out with the kids and came back and our garage key card didn't work. We had to go to the front desk and remember when I said that the parking pass had the wrong date on it???!!! Well apparently so did the key card!!! Now I would've of thought that Thomas Beach vacation rental would check over all this information but they did not. I wish the owners of Prince condo 1932 would go with a different rental company bc now you just lost a renter because of the unprofessionalism I experienced with Thomas Beach vacation rental!!
