We got there after a small hike near the Cascade Locks view point. Since we relied on the Colombia Gorge express , this place was located very conveniently (for us) near the CAT bus stop. Nice cozy coffee shop , only tried the coffees which turned out to be good . Service was quick (btw we were the only ones at around 3pm) . Bathroom was neat. This place has a unique decor all throughout and a good window seating . Only reason to drop a star from the rating : kind of felt odd that there was a sign about not letting kids destroy the puzzles etc . We didn't have any kids with us during the visit, but still felt a bit odd (maybe the business had a bad past experience but still ...)

Stopped off to grab some coffee on a road trip. Thought it would be just okay coffee but we were in for a treat. This coffee shop was so cute! The lady working was very nice. I had a peppermint mocha with great flavor not to sweet could taste the fresh coffee. Also grabbed some chocolate covered espresso beans for a treat. I would absolutely recommend stopping if you are in town or passing through.

Awesome coffee and excellent bagels! I came back for two more, ha ha!!! Such a cute coffee and breakfast spot with a good seating area.

We needed a bite for breakfast before a nearby hike, so we thought we'd give Thirsty Cafe a try. We arrived around 8am Sunday, they had a customer outside and a couple inside. The place is cute, and I liked that they have a sidewalk window option. I ordered drip as my drink, and the coffee was very good. Unfortunately, these were the only positives we experienced this day. Our interactions with the staff weren't very pleasant unfortunately. The gentleman who took our order had a lip full of chewing tobacco...which is certainly his right, but can be (and was for us) a bit off-putting in a restaurant setting. Both he and one female employee, who was handing out food orders, came across as unhappy and disinterested. Another lady came outside to place plants on the table and counter, and even she looked unhappy. Bad day? We ordered my coffee, a latte, a breakfast sandwich, and burrito. Once we ordered we stepped aside. After a bit of a wait a burrito was announced and set outside on the counter, and as we'd ordered one and were the only customers outside, we assumed it was ours. We overheard, however, that it was meant for an inside customer. Rather than pull it back in they left it for us...which was another bummer, as the rest of our order took an exorbitant amount of time resulting in the burrito being cold once we got to eat. As for taste, the burrito was decent, would've been better hot of course, and was fairly small compared to most breakfast burritos we've had. The breakfast sandwich was simply not good. It was on a bagel, which was neither toasted nor grilled. Inside was a relatively thin slice of egg, 2 slices of Canadian bacon, and cream cheese. The trouble was mostly in the ratios: the amount of cream cheese was surprising, so much cream cheese on both sides that it was sliding out as I tried to eat it and completely overtook the taste of the sandwich. I actually love cream cheese, but I couldn't taste either of the other toppings...there was literally no flavor or taste at all except the cheese. Honestly I ended up eating half the bagel with the cream cheese and called it. It just wasn't enjoyable. I'm sad to say it was really a poor experience overall, but with good, hot drip coffee. There's always a chance that it was an off day for the food and the staff, but we weren't happy campers.

This is not a burrito; it's more a large taco. Very misleading.

Teeny tiny breakfast burrito -- for a full price. I should have read the other reviews here that mentioned the burritos were small. Anyways, the burrito I got was about one-third the size of a normal burrito, for about 90% the price. Definitely a case of shrinkflation. Something that Dollar Stores do to mislead their customers. Also, it was even freshly-made, but wrapped and heated in a microwave. One step above a gas station burrito. Gnarly cheese that resembled plastic, no flavor. No hot sauce offered either. I'm surprised they pull this, since their main customers are hikers coming through the Pacific Coast Trail and need calories to fuel their day. A much better breakfast is at the Bridgeside. A proper breakfast there is a buck more, $10.

Had the chance to visit this little cafe after a hike at Dry Creek Falls. The ladies inside were very friendly and I quickly felt that it was a family-owned cafe. They had a little walk-up window and made the beverages and foods right in front of you. It's quite a cute spot right in town. My only complaint about the place is, although the barista was wearing a mask, I did see what may have been her husband and son (or friends of theirs as they were quite comfortable) not wearing masks on all the way when they were inside even when they were making food. Coming from San Francisco, we are hyper-aware and it was quite a turn off. I think our fear is that even if YOU think you're safe, we see people catch covid all the time who we may have trusted. In order to protect people but still keep business alive, please be aware of your customers and wear a mask at all times. No one wants to be put in a position to toss out their food after seeing something like this or worse, having to confront a business owner who should know better.

So disappointed! This is such a cute coffee shop and had a horrible customer service there. I asked the barista about my order and she said it takes a long time. Ok well then that is something you should tell people up front especially if you are in hurry to be somewhere. The barista was RUDE and not very friendly at all to everyone. Plus the cashier looks like she didn't know how to multitask since she has to ring up and make the food as well. Considering it's Mother's Day, the sun is out and everyone is out, so getting a coffee and a snack should not be a 45 min wait. It took 30 mins to get my lemon loaf which was my 2nd item. I ordered 3 items and one got 2 of them after waiting so long then I walked out. People behind got their order and still waiting for my last item. Maybe I will try them again if I am back in the area. Coffee and lemon loaf was good though

Thank goodness for Thirsty Cafe! We completed a gorgeous 6-mile hike in the pouring rain, and throughout the last 2 miles all we could talk about was wanting a hot mocha. We saw Thirsty Cafe on our way in and decided to give it a try. First off, the woman working was SUPER FRIENDLY. We enjoyed our chat very much. Most importantly, the mochas were DELICIOUS: Hot, flavorful, rich, and not too sweet. My mocha was definitely gone too quickly. We also got two breakfast burritos: one sausage and one chorizo. They were kind of bland and on the smaller side. The salsas served with them definitely helped, but we would not order the burritos again. The mochas? We *will* be back for those!

We found this a very charming coffee shop and the folks were more than hospitable to us. We are from out of town, so we don't know about the other bad reviews. All I can say is what we experienced and it was very pleasant. The coffees hubby and I got were some of the best we've had in our travels, so we would recommend this comfortable coffee shop to others. read more

What a delightful spot. We had just finished hiking to Wahclella Falls and needed a little pick me up before getting back on the road to Portland. I don't think I have ever had a more delicious coffee in my life. They have all the milk alternatives and syrup options. There is a convenient outside window to make ordering quick and easy, or a super charming and comfortable indoor space for you to sit and relax . Good drip coffee and espresso drinks. The Mocha and Mama Mia were both tasty. Food was surprisingly good for not being a real kitchen. Biscuits and gravy had lots of sausage in gravy and nice fresh biscuits. Breakfast burrito looked a bit small, but was hot and filling. I had it with chorizo, which was nice. read more

This is absolutely the Nicest coffee shop in the Gorge!!! So glad we came here. Cute ambiance, amazing breakfast food (we had a breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich) and coffee was on point. Barista was super friendly, but not too overpowering like some coffee places!!! 100% recommend this place if you are out in the Gorge. read more

Maybe it's a good idea if you don't understand what the customer is saying exactly to clarify it with them before making them wait for 15 minutes for a drink they didn't order and didn't want. I literally asked for something that has zero calories and zero sugar and you gave me a ton load of milk and sugar. At the end I asked for just hot water to get it going fast and you still couldn't understand... idk read more

Best coffee we have ever had on the road and that is saying a lot considering we LOVE coffee and we travel-a lot! We ordered the non dairy chai tea, regular mochas, an americano and a nondairy latte. All were truly made to perfection, although the chai was a bit sweet for us. They had a generous selection of pastry options, including moist (not dry) gluten free cupcakes and none of the items disappointed...Next time I would ask to have them warmed just a bit. Truly a hidden gem! What else? Super clean with the perfect amount of genuinely cute items to peruse for sale and whole bean coffee too! Truly reminiscent of the old real coffee house feel that is inviting and conversationally comfortable with fast and authentically friendly service. So great that we stopped on the way back through. read more

Such a cute little shop. The first visit the coffee was amazing. I got a cinnamon vanilla latte. The next day a different person was working and the coffee was just alright. Sadly, 20 oz only had 2 shots so I had to pay extra for that. The cinnamon roll was very delicious. Overall I would go back when I'm in the area again. read more

By far the best coffee shop our family has ever been to. Walking distance from our motel. My dad and I came this morning for coffee and got the vanilla lattes, we came back about 20 minutes later for breakfast burritos. We ended up crossing over The Bridge of The Gods and came back again!! 3 visits to this coffee shop within a couple of hours. The BEST we've ever had. Starbucks cannot even compare. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The owner was so friendly and kind. She was so cool!!! This place is a must. If I could give it more stars I would. She even gave our dog a treat! read more

The coffee is amazing, they have a wonderful selection of pastries, it's super homey feeling, perfect if you want to relax in a chair and sip on your coffee in the morning, or just pick up something quick to go. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Worth the stop! read more

Disgusting. ----Does NOT follow health codes. The barista encourages people to come into the shop without a mask(before they have ordered, or are consuming a beverage/food). The barista did not keep her mask on the entire time will making my beverage. I could not try the beverage because it is a health hazard and restaurants/cafes are required to have the employees crafting the beverage or food to wear a mask. And the beverage was overpriced. read more

The Worlds Best Breafast Burritos will be found in this cute little cafe. That's all we got this time, but last time the coffee was excellent. Great, friendly service, Peaceful Atmosphere, and a cute shop make it a must-stop next time you are in cascade locks. 10/10 will be stopping here to try out their pastries and another coffee next time I get the chance! read more

Cute cafe, seems popular. Staff wasn't very friendly. I ordered avocado toast with no cheese on it due to dairy allergy. When I got the toast it had feta all over it. Also ordered a iced matcha, and it tasted like water. My partner had a similar experience with their coffee. Giving three stars because it was a cute place and after I picked the cheese off of my toast as much as possible, the toast was good. Generally overpriced. Baked goods and coffee are decent but at least one member of the staff should probably look for a different career option as the service industry and dealing with human beings is clearly not for her. The avocado toast looks great but is inedible as it was so over salted. read more

I've been here twice now and the service is very friendly which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. I have ran into a couple problems though: 1.) latte was served at 220 degrees...couldn't drink it, even without a lid, until about 25 minutes later. 2.) all of the americanos are different prices even though they all come with 2 shots. The barista said the price differences are due to more water and cup size...not a thing. 3.) my daughter ordered a Frappuccino and it took a solid 15 minutes to get. They served another person's blended drink before ours and that customer came in after us. They have one blender...makes zero sense. The barista apologized and said she couldn't get ours right. I work at a coffee shop in Hood River and when a drink takes way too long for whatever reason, I offer a discount or a future free drink. read more

Charged me a dollar more than the sign unless they charged me for the cream or something, and I added a $1 tip as well. (their lowest tip option) So $5 dollars for a barely warm drip coffee. Coffee was ok but cheap tasting. If youre stopping off the highway for a pick-me-up, try looking somehere else first. read more

Saw reviews and seemed like this was the only coffee place on the town strip. Glad we stopped. I got the hot cardamom latte and cinnamon roll. Baked fresh from local baker. Latte was great. The barista was very friendly and got my drink quickly and hot!! read more

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Flow, the barista, was absolutely amazing--friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about both the pastries and the coffee. It's always refreshing to meet someone who genuinely enjoys what they do, and it shows in the service. She shared that they roast their beans in house, which explains the rich, fresh flavor in every cup. They also sell the beans on site, and there's even a coffee grinder available for customers, which is a thoughtful touch for anyone passing through town. And the pastries? Yummy and perfect alongside the coffee. If you're traveling through Stevenson or working in the area like we were, this place is definitely worth the stop. Great coffee, delicious pastries, and outstanding service--what more can you ask for? Highly recommended!
