I would probably stick to the smaller, independent grocers for my fruit and vegetables though because this location was seriously lacking in selection.

It is in my heart because it has everything I could ever want in such a small storefront. It has a salad bar with a wide variety of veggies and other goodies to create your favorite salad to take away. Plus, they have a solid produce section. They have a variety of dairy milk alternatives and they have quite the variety of yogurts, as far as what kind of milk you're looking for. For example, dairy, goat, sheep, low-fat, full-fat, with a particular fruit. They have so much more including non-food products such as toiletries and miscellaneous hardware stuff. Everyone is really friendly encouraging you to work on learning French.

The store is convenient since they do open early and close fairly late. They have plenty of things and since they have two floors of space you can find almost everything you need on your vacation. I was accosted by a young man of the delinquent, possibly homeless variety, who wanted to know if I spoke French and if I could help him have something to eat. My father taught me through example when I was young that if you can offer someone food directly that it was always better than only entrusting them with money, and so, I told him that I did speak French, and given that we were across the street from this Carrefour, I said okay. He went first to the premade food isle. He had pointed out his friend near the entrance as we strode in. His friend waved and was nursing a Heineken. I ignored this and focused on getting him something to eat and moving on. He picked up a couple ready made pastas (that could be eaten cold - they had no microwave out there on the street), some chocolate mousse (even the destitute have taste here in France) and two small lemonades. As I pulled out the money at the cash register to pay, the tight-lipped cashier quickly scanning the items, telling me everything I needed to know about this guy's song and dance by her body language, he had the audacity to ask for some money too. I told him no, politely, and as he continued to press, I waved goodbye and headed out onto the street. Was my good deed ruined? No. I'm sure that he did need food, and that he and his friend would have their hunger sated for at least a while. And I was a bit wiser for the experience, in a number of ways.

They had all the essentials and even had fresh bread. Fruit looked delicious and fresh while there were plenty of groceries if you are in need of ingredients to make your favorite dish. This place is small and has a good variety of different food, but know this may not be a place of choice if you're looking for specific items. This is an express market for in-out type service. Carrefour Express had exactly what I needed to fill my mini fridge. French juices and local beer. French biscuits. And the best part all very cheap! Spent just over 6€ euros for my haul. If you wish, they sell foldable reusable shopping bags for €0.99 that are handy. Staff is friendly, I didn't have a need to ask for anything but the cashiers were efficient and cheerful.
