I think it would be fair to say that the things here are comparably priced to what you're going to find in the shops around Madrid, except--as mentioned by the other reviewer--this place is neater, brighter, and cleaner. You can find the exact same items, or similar ones, in other places for better prices if you're willing to go off the beaten track, but things don't always work that way. The truth is that this place is great for picking up last minute gifts that you forgot or spending those last euros you'll no longer be needing.
They have the standard assortment of touristy-type gifts you would expect to find, and a pretty large selection actually. I would say that the types of products and the quality of them are definitely on the upscale side, which is nice because you don't have to settle for crappy sherry vinegar or olive oil. Just remember--and hopefully you will have before this point in time--just because they'll sell to you in the airport doesn't mean they'll let you on the plane with it, so hopefully you've already made yourself aware of what you can or cannot take on the plane before you bought anything, especially foodstuffs. I would be inclined to give this place three stars if it was out in the streets, but I feel like I should give that extra star because it serves the purpose it was designed for well. It's got a good selection of nice things you can pick up at prices that aren't terrible given the circumstances and the location. read more
