I cannot say enough how perfect my birthday was, and it all started at Thief and Barrel! I had a wine tour set up where my group of 14 would go to four different local AV wine spots and do tastings at each place. I spoke to Barbara who helped me choose bottles for tastings and she even threw in some special tastings for us! When we arrived, we had the side tasting room to ourselves, and the set up Barbara and her staff prepared was intimate and perfect for our group! The "Happy Birthday Che" written on the chalk board was a creative, added special touch! I had such a wonderful birthday experience and I truly want to thank them for all that they did to make my birthday so memorable!! Stephen was the perfect host with great pouring skills and great conversation! We cannot wait to come back for Red Head and port :) We will be back! Cheers! read more

What a great venue for wine tasting in Lancaster! First time in this establishment and what a treat.. great selection of white and red wines. Pours are generous and staff are wonderful! This review is so long overdue. I first came to this winery about a year ago- and I met Barbara that night. She was so kind and welcoming. I then made it a point to go there once a week if possible just to see her (the delicious wine was a plus). I knew absolutely nothing about wine. It was then that she and DiMaggio ask my boyfriend and I what we usually drink (type of beer, etc). Based on our answers- they were able to give us some of the best wine I have ever had. She taught me so much! Since I no longer work by her I had been to a few other wineries and let me tell you-- this winery has the BEST wines you will get. You must try this winery! Not only will you get the best wines you can possibly ever have in your life- but you will meet the kindest, most genuine, and big hearted couple. I was there just last week- and Barbara had nothing but great things to say about the wineries close to them. I hope one day T&B moves closer to me. read more

If if had known this place was around ten months ago, I would have been by sooner! (They've only been open for ten months or I'd say longer!). It's just through happenstance that I wound up at this wine bar and omg I'm a customer for life! Barbara the owner, so amazing, sweet, and knowledgeable. I could sit and drink wine with her for hours! I met friend there and bought two amazing bottles of wine: sparkling pomegranate cuvée and the super T (gift for my sister). Got turned around by GPS trying to find this place, but it was worth the effort. Tucked in an industrial office area, the tiny tasting room is easy to miss. Russ, the winemaker is customer service oriented, happy to answer questions and very helpful. I was looking for a private room to hold my husband's surprise 40th birthday party- I wanted a room more intimate and personalized than a normal "banquet" room that you find in most restaurants or hotels. I showed up to Thief and Barrel one afternoon to check it out, and immediately I knew this was the perfect place. The owners (Barbara and DiMaggio) are amazing- super friendly and they were so excited when I told them my idea- I wanted to host a Prohibition-themed murder mystery dinner. They worked within my budget, they have a great catering company that they partner with who provided a amazing 3-course meal, and were super accommodating to all my requests. They went above and beyond what I was expecting- prior to the party there were in constant communication with me regarding the set up, the menu, the types of wines to be served, they decorated the entire place in the theme, they helped with special effects for the murder mystery, and on top of it all: the night of the party the served the guests in costume. Myself and our guests were blown away by the attention to detail and enthusiasm of Thief and Barrel. Everybody had a fantastic time, mainly due to the unique atmosphere, food/drink, and service from Thief and Barrel. In addition to their customer service and friendliness, the wines they sell are delicious and super unique (you HAVE to try their Hibiscus wine!!) I had no idea this type of place existed in the AV and I'm so happy I found it. We drink their wine on a weekly basis at home and are so excited to find a new date spot. You can bring your own food into their tasting room, and we feel super comfortable and welcomed there, even when we have to bring along our 2 year old along :-) They do a lot of cool events and we look forward to participating: this is going to be my go-to place when we have visitors or are looking for something to do. Barbara was wonderful~! I had an open house at my home today and had to take my two large German Shepherds somewhere out of the heat and Barbara was excited to have them. I was inspired to learn more about wine and even maybe bottle my own wine. Barbara and DiMaggio did an amazing job training my staff at Baracoa and now my servers a lot more confident, have increased their tips, and have increased their averages for sales per ticket thus increasing revenue for the business. read more

A really amazing experience! Christina was super helpful. Not a big fan of reds so she went in the back and poured some special sparking wines for us.
