The Yew Tree serves locally sourced food in a European cuisine style, and we had an excellent dinner here. We both started with an asparagus pea veloute that was perfectly balanced. Then I had duck and my companion had lamb. It was terrific. The menu also came with desert and some small tastes. There are two complete menus presented at two price points, Euro 55 and 45. The room literature also shows a vegetarian menu served at the Yew Tree -- I guess you would need to ask for that. BTW, the breakfast buffet was quite nice as well. read more

The Yew Tree is fantastic! I ate here several times and it was outstanding each time. Amuse bouche: foie gras mousse royale & cherry espuma mousse served in a brilliant turquoise blue half moon bowl. Sweet Corn soup poured from a tiny glass teapot into a bowl swirled with sweet corn and basil purée. Smoked salmon under a glass dome filled with a smidgen of heavenly smelling smoke that erupts up into the air when glass is lifted. Nice thick slice of fish served with tiny cubes of beet, thin pickled cucumber, and tiny purple flowers. Ham hock terrine apple and pastry crisp. Seared scallops with pork croquette, and carrots in accompaniment. Carrots Sliced paper thin and pickled, baby carrots, carrot purée. monk fish with crispy potatoe encircled round, prawn, carrot,coconut and pea risotto. Great menu and very nice wine list. read more

The breakfast served here might be pretty good, if you have nothing else planned for the morning and can wait for them to try multiple times to get your order correct. At our first breakfast there, we ordered a mushroom and cheese omelet, but it arrived as a ham and cheese omelet. Our second morning was much worse, having to wait 15 minutes for a simple pot of tea, and asking for it three times. The omelet was wrong again, having no cheese in it. The host Nebo tried to tell us they were just busy, but other tables around us were getting tea and coffee within a few minutes. So overall the restaurant is disorganized and poorly run, and offers clearly flimsy excuses for their failings. Not recommended. read more

Andras was simply spectacular. Very patient with my anxious celiac / gluten free wife. Highly recommended. Five star experience.

The chef and staff go out of their way to feed those of us with severe food allergies-and feed us deliciously. Sweet pea soup is amazing, and the staff is the best ever. Recommend if you're like me and basically have to make your own food at home. read more
