Basically, you pick up a box, and then fill it with card or paper of your choice from a huge selection from the shelves along the wall. There are also crafting supplies - stickers, ribbon and equipment. Plus examples of what you can make with particular items. It's a dream of a shop, and easy to spend money in. Good job they have a loyalty scheme, where you can collect points and redeem them once you reach a certain amount, for money off your next purchase.

This shop is stacked full of gifts for the discerning shopper. There's a good range of…read moreold-fashioned style children's toys, including a dolls house and dolls house furniture. The gift toiletries are beautifully packaged, including Isle of Arran's After the Rain range, which I absolutely love. There's Emma Bridgwater crockery (the chunkiness of which I absolutely adore, and which indicates that I am in the type of shop I like, although I've never found an exact design that I would want to buy). There are suitable gifts for the 'older' and sometimes more difficult generation. The shelf of handkerchiefs was prettily arranged; do people still buy these? Birthday and occasion cards are high quality and classy designs, including 3-D cards. The staff smiled and said thank you as we left the shop, which is something to remark upon in this day and age

An amazing shop, like Aladdin's cave! They stock a massive range of fabrics, in almost any pattern…read moreyou could think of, including those for seasonal projects, uphostery, dress-making and child-themed fabrics. The prices seem ok to me not as cheap as I've seen (but then the quality is good) but in line with most other fabric stores I've visited and cheaper than some! I visited yesterday as every January they run a sale with 20% off, which makes the prices much more competitive. The staff at Hansons are knowledgable, friendly and helpful and don't treat you like an idiot (even when you feel like one, for asking 'silly' questions!) I bought my sewing machine from Hansons a couple of years ago and the lady in the sewing machine department was so helpful, showing me the different functions of the machines and really tailoring her suggestions to what she felt my need and experience was. I have since returned on a couple of occasions for fabric and sundries and I'm sure if it was closer to where I live, I'd be there all the time! My only criticism, which isn't even that really, is that they pack so much in there that one often has to tuck in for passing customers as the walkways are very narrow, often shoving rolls of fabric back in whilst they pass!

The store is a nice size and the displays of books look good. The store does have a bit of other stuff like paint etc but some of it is a bit tatty and looks more like a cheap stocking filler than a gift. The paint however is very good value if you have young kids it is 99p of 550 ml of paint which is great if you have room to store it. A lot of the book and products are a bit out dated but then if you haven't read the book i guess it doesn't matter when it was published The hand baskets in this shop need replacing there are in poor condition and very weak for carrying books. The service at the till is great very quick and easy.

I go into this shop all of the time, hoping that I'll find something that I just have to have. The…read moreshop is filled with clothes - some gypsy, funky, very girly stuff with all kinds textures to the fabrics. I think every outfit in the place makes some kind of statement. I just haven't found a statement that I'd like to make with any of it yet. There are some beautiful things here though, with price tags to go with them. There is lots of jewelry and some greeting cards, and gift type things. What I really love is the little chandeliers that hang by the stairs on display, and the huge selection of fun scarves. There are lots of pillows upstairs that deserve a good look. Some are just beautiful. I can spend hours in this shop. The staff tend to be stand-offish, although not really unfriendly. I've been frequenting this shop for over a year and have not yet had someone ask to help.
