The array and range of games they have here is unbelievable. Lots of games and puzzles for all ages, and baby accessories such as cots. They also have electric bikes and cars, Wendy houses and bikes. The only downside is that if you go here at the weekend, you can queue for a little while and this can take even longer if there are cranky kids in front! If you can't find the game you want I will be amazed!

The only problems I have ever had are when I have returned an item after Christmas and the queue is out of the door! The staff are great though and I feel sorry for them when they are that busy. Also recently found out they do a stock take around March (i think) so if you have ever wondered why they don't have much stock just after Christmas it is something to do with that and not ordering new stuff until after the stock take - was explained to me by a member of staff last year but I'm sure it was along the lines of that!!

It's brightly coloured and inviting exterior never fails to draw my eye when I'm taking a shortcut to the Birmingham Markets to grab the weekly shop. Yesterday I thought I would pop in and actually have a look. It's not a large unit, but the walls and floors are totally packed with fun bits and pieces and cards of a good quality. The greetings cards are probably on par with someone like Paperchase in terms of cost, but I spotted some designs I hadn't seen before (and will be back to check regularly to stock up for friends and family). They sell a small range of gift books (including things like Grumpy Cat, Cyanide and happiness as well as other internet webcomics) and items from the likes of "Fred & Friends" for those awesome kind of kitchen gadgets that you don't need, but you definitely want. I spotted some 75% off items on their far wall, left over from the Christmas sales. I ended up purchasing 7 different things that WOULD have been over £40 pre-sale, but I paid £11. The member of staff at the counter was chipper, helpful and welcoming and we had a good old chat about some of the items they stock in the shop. A lot of the gear in here is expensive, but it's unusual and fun and would make brilliant presents for those "hard to buy for" people in your life. Definitely pop on down and give it a look next time you're in the Bullring.

It stocks cuddly toys, stationery, bags, clothes for kids and adults, toys, pillows, towels, DVDs. from the Disney range. Usually has a good sale after Christmas and I have been known to get some stuff and save for birthdays later in the year! Has all the latest HSM, Hannah Montanna along old favourites like Stitch and the dwarfs! Kids love it and many adults do too!

My daughter has been collecting the disney snow globes since being born well I suppose really its me collecting them but they belong to her!!! hehe!! they are absolutly gorgeous and also they are a good thing for little ones to collect as they range in prices from £5 for the little mini ones (which I think my daughter has mainly them in her collection) and then all the way up to mega bucks for the really posh ones, she only has one of these and I did not buy it, was a really great birthday gift. We tend to go to the store in Birmingham mainly and the staff are always fantastic, I suppose they have to be when they are surrounded by children all the time, but its a really loverly atmosphere we always spend at least an hour in ther, much to annoyance of my husband!!! The store is quite large, and the set out of the store also is very good, with a open planned feel, but also there are loverly little corners to the shop for eg, the parts where they sell all the figurines and the snow globes. just really cosy. The store is also always very clean, they always have plenty of staff on stand by to help, loads of baskets, catalogues etc etc, i find this store more than any other of the disney stores i have visted, very well run and very professional. I shop online with them also and find their website very easy to use and also they tend to also have a few bargains on there aswell. I do agree though with other people that some of their prices are way too expensivebut I think when you go into Disney your brain sort of stays at the door and you tend to get a bit carried away - so beware!! I am very involved in a local charity as you can see fom some of my other reviews and have been trying to get donations of gifts for a christmas fete and santas grotto I am arranging, So i wrote to the disney store as one of their warehouses is very close to me in Magna Park, Leicestshire and asked them if they could make a donation to the raffle. Well a week later I received a phonecall from a really wonderful lady from the Disney store advising me that there was a donation for me ready to collect at the warehouse. I was obviously very chuffed, but when I got there I was absolutly amazed. They gave me a huge box full of stuff; 40 packs of tinkerbell stickers 28 packs of Micky Mouse Clubhouse card games 3 Tinkerbell stamper sets 2 pairs of power ranger pj's 10 pairs of socks 3 pairs of tinkerbell pants a princess crown and wand a book a cinderella brolly 2 mugs 2 bowls and a really loverly letter wishing us luck... The art side includes both a wonderful selection of art supplies, suitable for those just dabbling in the area, right up to high quality supplies for professionals & also a range of artwork & craftwork by local artists. The local work is always a pleasure to look at as it contains some beautiful one of a kind pieces, often including jewellery, textiles, knitwear, wooden pieces as well as paintings & drawings. However, my main love of the shop comes from it's excellent toy selection. The toys in the shop are a breath of fresh air, they are nearly all wooden &/or cloth toys ranging from imaginative play items such as wooden castles & farms with figures to the most beautiful craft packs to wooden board games, including some of the most ingenious educational games. We have had a number of products from this shop & they have always been beautifully crafted, sturdy & endearing; despite being played with endlessly they all remain in excellent condition. This is a perfect shop for anybody looking to buy high quality & individual toys, outside of the range of generic plastic that appears in most shops.

I, however, think it is a great shop and many bargains can be found. I went in on the opening day and was randomly picked by a strange man with a microphone who presented me with a £10 poundland voucher! I bought a leather ipod case (selling for £15 in Argos), some padded envelopes, chocolate, batteries to name a few, certainly got my moneys worth. Plenty of CDs & DVDs to choose from too, not exactly the latest hollywood blockbusters, but some good choices nonetheless.

The walls are adorned with tattoo-inspired stained glass panels, the handcrafted cards are quirky alternatives to the more "acceptable" ones found on the High Street and the gifts range from small bespoke pieces to large upcycled items. It doesn't just stop there. Downstairs is the gift shop but upstairs is a small area which offers an excellent, intimate space for independent artists/photographers and the ilk to stage their own exhibitions. Beyond what is the "artist's gallery", there are two rooms which will have the capacity to provide workshops, a meeting space and hold small events. This is a great little gift shop, which is sure to inspire and attract not only the "creative types" but also the discerning customer and supporters of independent stores. I got a £10 gift voucher for my birthday and desperately want a copy of "Takenoko" after playing it for the first time at SciFi Weekender in Wales (it's a board game where you have to grow bamboo - much more fun than it sounds). After the distributor telling me that Forbidden Planet could easily order this in for me, I hastily nipped down on my lunch to enquire about this. Now, service has always been mixed at this branch of Forbidden Planet. The staff are very informed about their products, but sometimes it can seem a little Elitist. The gent which served me yesterday was friendly and helpful, but seemed a little put out that I wanted to order something in and wasn't sure he could. Needless to say, I have given them my details - so will have to update the review later if it can be achieved and the transaction completed. The product range in this store is pretty vast. Stocking everything from themed boardgames (they stock "Adventuretime" Monopoly!) to Graphic Novels and various merch (again, a huge range featuring a selection from "Twilight" to "Minecraft"); you will normally find your particular kink catered too. We are lucky to have Nostalgia and Forbidden Planet in quite close proximity. If you can't find what you are looking for in one, you can always pop down and try the other! This place really is an "Aladdin's Cave" of geeky treasures.

If you fancy checking out the latest comic book issues and memorabilia, this has always been the #1 destination in the city. It's not massive and it feels a bit like a cave in there thanks to the dingy light, but again this helps set the scene for what should be a bit of a secret geek den. The staff are always helpful and clued-in (a must for any place like this, where the customers are sure to come loaded with really specific questions) and, for a pretty small space, there's so much to see and wish you could afford to take home with you that you could spend a good hour in there just having a nose.
