I am so dang sad. This place is not what it used to be. The food has changed a lot. The cheese dip served with the Bretzels seemed like it was definitely the Tostitos cheese dip in a jar, but warmed up. The toasted ravioli were the worst of my life which is so confusing like how is it possible to make fried food taste bad? I've had better from the freezer isle. My sister ordered the Mediterranean flatbread and it was weird. Didn't seem to truly be Mediterranean inspired and everyone who tried it disliked it. This place used to be packed and it was mostly empty. The strawberry sangria was SO watered down. I had 3 and didn't feel like I consumed any alcohol & certainly couldn't taste any. It was like watered down strawberry juice. The employees were nice, but they don't check on you at the table. You have to bring your cups and dishes back to the bar when you're done. I just don't know if this place will survive if they don't make some huge changes. My family and I used to love coming here, but the ambiance, food and drink offerings, and service is poor. Went to the weingarten for a drink and dinner but it wasn't the same weingarten that I remembered. All the tap beers were fruity foofoo styles. The staff was very dry and unenthusiastic to the point they seemed sedated. We decided on a pizza and a chicken salad wrap. Boy do I wish I had taken a picture of the chef boyardee kit pizza we got for $17 that wasn't even cooked all the way. The bugs were outrageous. They were everywhere! They were the small biting kind and landed all over our food. We moved tables and they followed us. Ridiculous! All in all I am very disappointed in what they have become and will not be returning. read more

Nice chill winery you need to check out! I came here on a Saturday with some friends and it was perfect. There is a decent size indoor area for this hot or cold days. There is also a huge outdoor seated area with a little pond and a fountain. There is a good amount of wine to choose from and a good beer selection. All the staff we interacted with was kind and friendly. They also have a huge event space. When I am over in Belleville again I will have to go back.! read more

This is a nice spot. The food selection is small, which is good. It's more of a "let's just let the kids run amuck on a Sunday as I'd rather have a beer place." However, it isn't a "show up ragged" place. There may be a bachelorette party or event going on. They give a very hefty military discount on Sunday as well. I think 15%? But it may only be 10%. Anyway, it's a great after church spot to enjoy a flatbread or hummus/cheese and vegetable plate. You can just pretend your in your back yard. The wine/beer selection never disappoints. As a wedding venue I cannot score them low enough. They tried to tell me a Garden Barn is the equivalent of a Garden Tent. We have a contract for a Garden Barn that they couldn't get built and spent 30 minutes trying to explain that it wasn't their fault, it was the city's fault. The service was so poor the caterer apologized profusely about the Weingarten's lack of professionalism. If you're looking for a wedding venue, maybe consider Times Beach, MO or the burning radioactive landfill in Bridgeton, MO. They have a less toxic environment. Drag shows hosted by the Weingarten are definitely NOT family friendly events. Management seems so woke that they are toxic to speak with. If you don't agree 100% with the views of management you are made to feel unwelcome. read more

I was there for a bridal shower this weekend and Eevette ( I have no idea how she's spells it, I'm so sorry) was the sweetest. I had foot surgery recently and she saw me struggling and helped me so much. Had my wedding here. We got a military discount on our drink package after taking a trip there to present military card. Event coordinator Angie wanted us to take another trip up to show her a military card to get a discount on the venue package. She Never responded to my email about literally just coming up there the day before and getting the discount approved by her coordinator co-worker for the drink package, so why couldn't you just grant as well after speaking with your co- coordinator!? Angie Never granted us the discount on the venue. We thought that was bull crap, why should we have to drive out of our way for something that's already been approved once? Even after planning, The coordinator provided the day of was unprepared. Guests weren't getting driven down to the ceremony in a reasonable time/manner. The day of coordinator didn't help assist with the dress as we spoke about. They hadn't even made sure that the groom was at the alter before instructing the bride to head down the aisle!!! After getting through the beginning troubles at the ceremony everything else went well the day of our wedding. The bartender at the reception was great and tentative. Temperature inside party barn was nice on that hot summer day. We got some good scenic photos for our wedding pics at the venue. We just didn't like the saying you'll get a discount, then we present the information needed, it's approved and discount is granted...then you asking us to come back again next day for a venue discount. What a delightful venue situated in the country alongside beautiful farm fields. It fits in so nicely with a silo as part of the landscape. My first visit and during a pandemic, yet I felt safe. Reservations required, tables are social distance 6 foot apart and many are located in their own separate pavilion. Masks were required in the tasting room and while no "tastings" were being held, this is where you order from the bar and pick up your food order. No table service was offered. I get that because once you are at your table you can remove your mask. Very weak strawberry sangria was the special at $18 a pitcher. It's a refreshing choice on a hot summer night. Other wines we ordered were $16-$21 a bottle with tubs of ice to keep it cool. You pay a deposit of $2 per glass and can take home a souvenir or cash in when you leave. Domestic bottles of beer and other wine inspired frozen drinks were available--no hard liquor--beer and wine only. Food menu is limited but our tables found plenty to order from three different flavors of flatbreads to pretzels and cheese and sausage trays. I've saved the best for last! This venue offers covered outdoor seating and with the garage door like walls open wide even the tasting room lets the outdoors in. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and evenings are aglow with strands of outdoor lighting. There is a huge parking lot. Restrooms were clean and hand sanitizer was everywhere. We celebrated a birthday girl and would gladly return! On this Friday evening they closed at 10pm. read more

Enjoyable atmosphere beautiful out doors . Great selection of wines. We come here often and enjoy Our time. The food isn't that great but they are getting better. We don't go there to eat. Out in the Lawn area where the arbors are and the feeding trough is it seem to be reserved a lot. When that happens there is no place to sit but the plastic chairs by the mini waterfall. We are not big fans of sitting inside when the band/music is, it is to loud for us to relax. However others we have went with don't mind it. Side note: An odd thing is they have the TV playing behind the band. Kinda disrespectful. Personally they should move the TV or the band. read more

If you're looking for a place just to hang out and listen to good music and have a few drinks, this probably isn't the place. The food is overpriced and underwhelming but they do have a large selection of wine. We always enjoy their summer Strawberry Sangria which is very good. I've never been really impressed with the food items that we have here but it's mostly small plates and flatbread pizza. Live music on the weekends is always nice but don't expect anything exceptional, LOL. It's a nice place for a drink or two if you're in the mood for glass of wine but that's pretty much it. this is the second time we've tried to come here in the last two weeks. once on weeknight and again on Saturday night. both times we came at 8:00 and we're told they closed at 9:00. We we're told we couldn't order food because the kitchen had already closed. mind you, we still had and hour before they closed. So we got sangria which is what we came for. them proceeded to walk out by the lake to sit. they followed us out and told us we couldn't sit there that they were gonna set up for tomorrow. so we kindly moved . there was no reason for them to make us move. I am a huge fan of this place. Since there aren't many wineries just down the street from me this place is a great find. There selection of wine is delicious. You can get six samples for $5 if you get there before 6pm. Otherwise your not going to get samples, however, since we were there not so far after 6 he let us taste 2 samples to find what we wanted. We ended up getting a bottle of white wine and ordered the pizza it was okay. The appetizer that was some sort of dumpling (sorry forgot the name of it!) with spinach and artichoke type filling was amazing, i would come back just for this appetizer. The atmosphere is fantastic. The inside of the building is nicely decorated and they even had live entertainment. The service was quick and friendly. The wine bottles were not ridiculous ranging from 12-16. I would go for a bottle and not just a glass, cheaper in the long run. This place is def a place for a night out with friends or a date night. Of course not good for the kiddos. They have a firepit outside to that you can keep up and soak up the heat in some cute cozy chairs and have a nice night out under the stars. Make sure you look for the somewhat lit sign when your coming up on it around the corner towards freeburg otherwise you may miss it. Overall, i didn't give it five stars only because they do not have their own winery. They just supply wines from their current vendors. What a cute place. I didn't even know of it until we went there. It has a large indoor area although we were outside. Several different areas for outdoor seating some were covered. As I recall the wine selection wasn't impressive but enough options that my picky friend found a good one! They do have a full bar and the drink special of the day looked wonderful. Wait staff was great. She even came outside to tell us about a bad storm that was getting ready to hit. (Yes we could see ominous clouds but had no idea it was really a bad one). I visited The Weingarten for the first time with friends for a celebratory weekend. The Signature wines were phenomenal each one had a great taste. We shared bottles over their flatbread pizzas which were also good. I would recommend going and tasting, or flat out buying as many bottles you can afford comfortably. The only downside is they do not ship their wine so when you make a visit be sure to buy one for home. Definitely would recommend. read more

I had my wedding at the Winegarden and Royal catering was the company they went through love the food but we had in agreement with the Winegarden that whatever was leftover I can take home I bought over 150 people worth of food that's over $3,000 and they only brought out the first set of trays of food. Not all 150 people showed up so I should have had a tone of food left over but right when I brought out my own to boxes The catering company quickly packed up and leafy their for leaving me with no seconds and non to take home so I emailed the Winegarden writing this review I either want a bit of refund back or the difference of food back. How cute is this place? My husband's work had a function here and I'll be honest that I had fairly low expectations. Their wine selection was decent and pours were on the generous side. The $2 wine glass deposit is a bit silly, as I consider stemware to be part of the cost of doing business. The function room was large with a beautiful view of the grounds. It's got a nice setting and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio. They had a band but it was not loud at all, just background music. There is a lake with a fountain, with woods off to one side. This place has some beautiful scenery and I'm sure it would make a great location for a party or wedding. However, just as a casual location for drinks and music keep on looking. The wine here is terrible, its incredibly sweet regardless of which variety you have and quite a few have bad after tastes. In the barn, its very loud too, and not a fun everyone is having a good time loud, but its a barn and has bad acoustics loud. If you do go I would suggest doing so in the warmer months so you can at least sit outside and enjoy the views in a quieter area where you aren't swamped by the drunken whoos and cackles of the local soccer moms who frequent this "winery". read more

We had my Daughters wedding and reception here. The wedding,reception, and caterer were fine. My problem was with the wedding planner. At the consultation visit,we were told we could reserve the heaters for the tent reception and if not needed they would refund our money. On the day of the wedding, temperatures reached 78 degrees and the heaters were not needed inside the tent. I called the next day to have my money refunded and was told that the heaters were turned on at the wedding. I asked who told her to do this, she replied "the Groom" When I asked the Groom he said he had not told her to do so. She continued to lie about the heaters being on and refused to refund my money even after telling me she would. We gave them thousands of dollars to host this wedding and then they refused to refund our money for two heaters that were never used. There were also some questionable billing charges. I would never recommend this venue. If you do use them be sure to get all agreements in writing!! read more

We had our holiday party here, they were helpful however a friend put a deposit down for a wedding ceremony, we'll her soon to be husband deployed so they had to change plans and they would not refund her the deposit, and it was about 500. You would think they would be understanding of a military deployment. Even with his orders they still did not refund her. Won't go here again, thought they would be more military supportive being right next to base. read more

There isnt anything about this place that i dont like- Its busy, the staff is friendly, the wine is great, and the food is delish--- What isnt to like?? You can sit outside, or you can sit inside- and both are equally enjoyable. They have music sometimes, and there is plenty of space. Their wine prices are reasonable and if you're only tasting one or two they are free. The food is good too, we had a pizza and it was HUGE-- we also ordered something else (i cant remember) and it was good too. They also have beer-- like regulars beers, which is nice.. if you dont have wine drinkers, or just arent in the mood for wine. Their wines come from red bud and they had a peach reisling-ish wine that was delish! I really cant say enough good things about this place- I believe they have a firepit outside...and if not, they need to. Its pretty cool becuase outback they still have the old silos from the farm, and the feeding troughs.... I mean- i am country girl, so its cool. whatever. I went to the Weingarten last night! They had great $4 glasses of wine and $10 flatbread pizzas. You can wine taste any wine on their menu for only $2 it is an amazing deal. I ended up buying a bottle because i could choose which type of wine i enjoy and taste their choices. It is very cute with twinkle lights and all around great atmosphere. Very disappointed. We had been here over a year ago and it was as great. Went back a few days ago and was very disappointed. We ordered a French dip and some flat bread pizzas. The French dip has ONE Slice of roast beef that was folded over, no cheese. I should have sent it back but I already sent the flat bread back because it was not done. The pizza was cooked on the edges but soft and undone in the middle. I asked them to cook it longer and 10 minutes later the manage brought the pizza back to the table and said that they could not put it back in the oven because it left the kitchen, i get that, but she expected me to take back the cold pizza and eat it. She said that is how flat breads are. I have had many flat breads and never one like that. I asked them to make me another one and they did and I told them to cook it longer and they did and it was better. The strawberry sangria was just so so. Will not go back. read more
