First, I want to say that the service providers at Ecumen's Home Hospice are outstanding. Denise…read more(RN) is truly a star. Logan (case worker), Riza (aide), Ian (music therapy) and alternates Amber, Lois are all wonderful--very caring, compassionate, and attentive, and they provide excellent care. I also greatly appreciate how supportive they are of the caregiver. They consistently ensure that supplies are provided and well stocked, which makes a meaningful difference during a very challenging time. My only concern is that services are not "open" or available on holidays and weekends. Illness and end-of-life needs don't take breaks, so it feels odd and somewhat disappointing that Ecumen's services are limited during these times, when support can be just as critical. Overall, the care team is exceptional, but expanded availability would greatly improve the experience.

Though it was on file, they somehow could not figure out verification so I ended up not going in for the appointment. So, this was a little irritating especially since everything was fine last time. They evidently are sticklers for the insurance card in hand and it would have been nice to been informed of that. I have forgotten medical insurance cards in the past or had outdated cards but in all cases I have received the service with the medical office figuring out the current policy numbers, etc. The service I received the first appointment was fine and nothing negative to say about it. Just didn't appreciate the inflexibility at the desk. Didn't feel like they cared that they were turning me away, so to that I say 'see ya'.
