The place had tight security and smelled of new construction, but I was told all of that was for the private event. But its still under construction, because the original vision was to make it an arts complex with 3 stages. I was seated in the main opera house which seats 1800. The sound was excellent inside the venue. I could see this place becoming 5 stars, once the complex is finished being built.

The sounds and lighting is very good for a performance or a speaker. I've seen both and thought I could hear and see even sitting from the back. The seats, which I think is important, are very comfortable :) once outside of the auditorium there are nice areas to walk through with nice pictures of fashionable and modern art. Bottom line...great place to watch a performance or hear a speaker. This opera is new just about 4 years old so expect a modern and comfortable experience with great seating, good lighting and great speakers so you can get a good show from any seat! We sat outdoors on this wonderful mild evening and made friends with the people at the tables around us. We actually met some people drinking at the next table who live in the Ballard neighborhood in Seattle, WA where we are from! It's a small world! I have never seen a more friendly bartender than this fellow running the place by himself. He was so nice and helpful and was always moving and checking up on us, helping other customers, etc. We chatted with him when we could and later on he even made a special cocktail and brought it to us to share. It was pretty good! The friendly bartender introduced me to a beer called ichnuso which is from Sardinia. I enjoyed this and got a few more while there. I ended up seeing this beer all over Firenze after this experience. A wonderful neighborhood bar with a great bartender made for a super fun evening full of chatting and drinking. But they do not just offer Aperol spritz which can become cloyingly sweet in the heat. Their menu is varied and wide in the art of all types of creative spritz and delicious little snacks to accompany. Try a Cynar and Campari spritz, or a Negroni, or a Cynar Negroni.... Pretty much everything here is made with love. Note this is NOT a place on the tourist map for good reasons: it is a local spot, loved by locals, and so my review comes with a humble ask to do as the locals do: stay long, be friendly, and love life while you are here.
