The pups are my…read morefosters and they recently came into our rescue from a kennel situation and they were in rough shape. I bathed them several times and tried to get their hair knots and matted hair brushed out and I barely made a dent. They really saved the day for their meet and greets tomorrow and now I feel more than confident they will be adopted! They did such an amazing job on the fosters that my roommate asked if they could squeeze his dog in. They did so great with him! He stinks after his baths - no matter what we do ... but after his bath with them he smells amazing! My roommate can't stop talking about what a relief it was and how he can't wait to become a regular client. Thank you so so much!

Keitha came out today and gave Gizmo his first mobile grooming…read more This is one of these reviews that I 'm going to have to list and rate by line item - then give it cumulative rating because there was good and bad: When I called to make the appointment - Keitha was friendly - but clearly busy and slightly overwhelmed. She wasn't able to take down my info and requested that I text her instead. 2 stars I asked her if she was able to give me a courtesy reminder call and she agreed - but on the day of - she forgot. The scheduled appointment was for 11am - and she arrived late (11:20am). 1 star She jumped out of the van and immediately acknowledged Gizmo. My first impression was that she was cute and young looking but dressed professionally and appropriate. Professional with a boho / punk sort of twist - maybe it was the large chunky streaks of purple hair pulled back in a pony tail. 5 stars She did a rather lengthy but informal interview where we discussed Gizmo's temperament & normal grooming routine. We also discussed my expectations - I asked her to shave his paw pads down as low as she could safely take them - I even showed her pictures so that she would see how they typically look after a visit with a competent groomer. I also requested that she shave his sani areas and belly. 5 stars She appeared to be a kind, caring and knowledgeable individual. She IS knowledgeable. When I commented on how young she looked - she told me she's been grooming for FIFTEEN years. 5 stars The van was equipped with a reservoir that holds 75 gallons of water - so there was no need for a hose hook-up - but they do plug into your electricity. 5 stars for not wasting water or polluting the environment using a generator. The price on her website says baths START at $35. On the phone - she said price was $35. I remember asking her if she was sure because she was so far away from me. And I distinctly remember it because I told her I used to work 'out that way' about a decade ago and it was 39 niles unless she took the 'back way' and she said she would take the 'back way' and always does. Today - before she got started - I asked her what the price was - just to be certain, and she said $45. I wasn't sure if he's $45 (instead of $35 'start at' price) because of his long hair, or because I'm a little further away from her than her routine clients. I probably should have gotten a text confirmation. Honestly - I didn't argue with her because $45 was more than reasonable - but I mention it here because she did change the price on me. She did also mention that when people schedule routine grooming - the price per visit is lower. 2 stars She completed the grooming very quickly. 5 stars I wasn't thrilled with the end result. Paw pads did not look good. Tops or bottoms. She did 'fix' the tops and take the paw pads down more after I asked her to - but I honestly felt like she was under the impression that I didn't mind risking harming Gizmo's paw pads to get the 'look' that I wanted. I told her not to take them down any further if she didn't feel comfortable doing so. But she had her assistant hold him to keep him calm and steady and she took care of it. Primarily though - I was disappointed because Gizmo's coat wasn't as fluffy as it typically is after a fresh grooming. And the hair behind his ears was wavy and crinkly. Plus his belly wasn't shaved as low and 'clean' as I'm used to. She did explain that the straight, fluffy look I'm used to comes from the dog being placed in a blower box and she used a forced air dryer (she explained further but I think I've provided MORE than enough detail here.) She also explained that shaving him too low can give him razor burn. 2 stars That nets a cumulative rating of 3.5. So I'll list them as 3 stars - A-OK!

I really wanted to like KLOS but I was very underwhelmed. The salon is gorgeous and the staff are…read morefriendly, but the grooming is no better than anywhere else in the area. Considering it is double the price of other groomers, my expectations of the service are going to be higher but not unreasonably so. I discussed every detail in person with the top priority being to not cut the beard of my Havanese as a long beard is what gives the Havanese their unique look. This wasn't followed and his beard was cut very short making him look like a Maltese. This awful cut was not only centered on his now lack of beard. The top of his head was cut so short that it does not blend into his ears and his ears were completely removed at the front that he now always looks as if his ears are consistently back and he isn't feeling too good. At $150 for a grooming, I would expect the groomers to have some knowledge of the breeds they are cutting which obviously is not the case at KLOS. They also do not keep grooming notes or capture instructions in a system which they are able to refer back to. This is something our previous groomer did at half the price.  KLOS did offer me a $50 credit towards his next cut which amounts to nothing as no logically minded person would use their services again after such a bad cut. The local pet wash store with their 3 option cuts would have done a better job. To sum up, KLOS is all flash and no form so don't be fooled by the flashy store. It's that flash you are ultimately paying double for.

I was looking for a new groomer for my dog, since the one that is close to my house was only "OK."…read more When the owner of the shop groomed him, he looked great. When it was someone else, he didn't look primped and as clean-cut has he has in the past. I started shopping around and found this new groomer "The Fuzzy Dawg" in Alpharetta (Holcomb Bridge Rd. and Barnwell, very close to Norcross). I called to get an appointment over a weekend, and they were booked up (that's a good sign for a new groomer, when I'm trying to make an appointment at the last minute!). I made an appointment for a day during the week the following week. I took him in and was impressed with how clean the store was! I was greeted immediately with "Hi there, Is this Tyler?" The groomer, Stephanie, took a break from the Chow she was grooming to come over and ask me some questions about how I wanted him groomed. I filled out my paperwork as a new client, and they took him in the back and started lathering him up. I asked if they could groom him without a bath (since he's good about getting a bath at home, and I love the smell of my soap that I use at home). They said it's hard to get a good clean cut if he's not bathed, so I asked if I could bring in my own soap next time around - and they said "Absolutely!" They said it would be about 3 hours, and they would call me when he was ready for pick up. They called me about 2 hours later, and he was ready to go! I picked him up and he looked EXCELLENT! Kudos to Stephanie for a great doggy-haircut for Tyler! He is a sheltie mix, and rang in at $47, a little more than my old groomer, but they did a nice job, so it's worth it. Especially since it included a bath. I will definitely be back to the Fuzzy Dawg!

Scheduled my appointment with her spoke with her on the phone, spoke with her via text and all the times I communicated with her I mentioned numerous of times about matting and how badly matted my dog was due to me just having a baby we had to hold off on the groomers expense. I stated this to her and she mentioned she would be able to demat him no problem. Never asked for pictures never communicated that it could be a possibility that she wouldn't be able to do it. Etc. Instead, she secured my appointment and waited until the day of when I arrived to tell me that she wasn't going to be able to demat him due to liability concerns. I feel like it was a load of crap because she waited until the day of the appointment, have me drive all the way to her just for her to tell me she won't be able to do it. I reached out to her via text because thats how we've been communicating and I stated my concerns to her regarding how I felt as a client and she didn't respond which says enough to me. I sent Hachii to his vet and other groomers and no one had an issue with grooming him, it was finding a groomer with a reasonable price, which we were able to do, by the way. And Hachii is doing fabulous and looks so good and we're so happy to have him back in good condition. Just wish she would of told me to send pictures in prior to his appointment of his condition before having me drive all the way to her just to turn me away.
