Chicken teriyaki bento
Samantha S.

We were craving late night sushi and this was one of our only options for takeout. We called to order and the food was ready within 20 minutes. We ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box and a few rolls. The chicken bento was a good portion, and it came with rice, stir fry veggies, fried dumplings, salad, miso soup, and California rolls. The bento was good but the chicken had a bit of a Smokey flavour. We also ordered a spicy salmon maki, and a green dragon roll. The total for our order was just under $50. I would definitely want to come back and try the teppanyaki experience here.

Grilled veggies

Small cozy restaurant with a big teppanyaki seating area. Our chef was amazingly entertaining but the other side (theres two grills back to back) wasnt so entertaining. The other half of the table was finished eating before our side was 3/4 way through. The food was delicious, the restaurant was clean and the staff was super friendly. I would definitely come back here! Lots of options, and lots of food - I took some home enough for another meal! Make reservations for the teppanyaki dining

Great experience. We sat at the Teppanyaki table and the food was excellent, big portions, even at lunchtime. Very friendly service, family atmosphere, good pricing.

I've had ramen at other establishments but this was my very first time here. My friend was craving…read moresomething to warm the soul and they have great reviews. My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure.

The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.
