A lot of waiting in different places, but a fun way to spend a late morning/afternoon. I was first in line in general seating. This is an important distinction as The View taping divides its guests into two groups: Priority and General when they confirm tickets. The ticketing staff told us it is a randomized process, but who knows. Fortunately, despite a lengthy priority queue, we still made it in. My arrival time to the studio was around 6:30am and there were 2 people ahead of me, just in the Priority line. My time getting there was probably a little excessive, but it proved worthwhile-- my friend and I had great seats with a great view (pun intended). Really anywhere in the audience is pretty good, save for maybe where the cameras are. I couldn't tell if they obstructed the people who sat behind them though. Altogether it was about a 2.5 hour process. Interestingly, they taped the deal segment first and then spliced it in after the hot topics and guest segment. We got free earbuds as part of this and that was a nice perk. Not a whole lot of interaction from the hosts but they didn't completely ignore us. The studio host kept it light and fun. The only downside was waiting in the cold, but I bundled up and brought hand-warmers. They were helpful for the studio too, which was surprisingly chilly. Would do it again in a warmer climate! Lol

First time attending a live taping of any show. Reservations made about a month prior. Arrived and checkin process was smooth. Production staff were friendly. Regina did a great job hosting and keeping the audience engaged. Everything went smoothly. Giveaway for all audience members too. Great show!

While the upper west side location was more convenient, the new location is newer and larger. This experience was a lot more organized than the old studio and staff was nicer. If you have a priority ticket, checkin is between 8:30-9am, but depending on the show (giveaways, etc.) you will likely see people there earlier. I was there by 8:15am and the priority and general lines were both already filling up. They promptly start checking tickets and give out a wristband. We were lucky to get in for a holiday giveaway! Once inside, no food or drink is allowed. Keep that in mind because you will need to get rid of food & drink in your bags before going through security. Once through security, you'll take an elevator to the waiting area. Limited seating here. Restrooms available here. They play videos from the show while you wait. Then a lineup is done to head into the studio. Seating is at random so the order you enter doesn't mean you will be front row. Also you should use the restroom before going into the studio. A comedian comes out to hype up the crowd. Photos are allowed once seated, but phones must be turned off once the comedian says so. The new studio seems smaller but amazed to see how much they can fit on stage. The show tapes live and we can react as the hosts make remarks. We finished taping at noon. Overall decent experience & nice giveaway. Plan on investing time from 8-12pm for a taping.

    Waiting area for studio access.

Mon had the better guest lists (at least in our opinion) so we gave up the other tix. It's a process to get in, so nothing too surprising. The earlier you get there, the more of a chance you will sit closer. All in all, we were out by around 6:30pm. Tho they did add a game that was going to air on a another day with I believe the One Piece cast? A good experience if you are into talk shows. I'd say we got there around 315 and thankfully with this one, all the waiting is indoors. The whole thing including the taping takes about 4 hours. Live With Kelly and Mark recently moved to Hudson Square and it is a nice are and not as crazy and crowded as upper west side. In order to check in, your entire party needs to be there. There is a wait before you go in... after you check in you will get a wristband with a number on it. Once you start going in, you go through security, then take the elevator down to the holding area. There is restrooms downstairs and water fountain. While you wait, you there are pictures of Kelly and Mark and some guests they have had on the show. Hint: Dress your best if you want a chance to sit close to where the guests come out. Once they call your numbers, you will go in to be seated. Inside there are two levels, lower and upper, they will tell you where to sit. So much fun to be part of the taping. While waiting, videos of Kelly and Mark show on the screen which is cool. Kelly and Mark interact and take pictures and selfies with audience members during the breaks. Gelman and staff cue the audience when to clap. Stump Mark was fun! For those who want to dance, you have to audition and the winner will get picked based on the audience... congrats and great job Emily for our taping (we voted for you!)! :) Besides Kelly & Mark, The View and Tamron Hall also films downstairs so make sure you are on the right line. We got to see the 10/2 taping with Glen Powell and Paige DeSorbo and it was Kelly's Birthday celebration! Happy Birthday Kelly!!! Big Fudgie the Whale cake to celebrate! SNL was created by Lorne Michaels and began in 1975 with the first show hosted by the famous George Carlin. The show follows a consistent format with a series of comedy sketches that lampoon current events and politicians. The caricatures are generally relatable thanks to talented artists and actors, such as Dan Ackroyd's portrayal of the clumsy Gerald Ford, Tina Fey portrayed Sarah Palin (who hilariously appeared side by side briefly), Phil Hartman's hilarious Bill Clinton and Dana Carvey's spot-on impression of George H.W. Bush. The show features a host (usually a movie star flogging their latest movie) and a musical guest (as the years go by, I recognize fewer and fewer of them). It starts with the host's monologue, a few skits, a live song by the musical guest, a few more skits, a "Weekend Update" current events news segment, another live song, and a final skit or two. Usually the host appears in a self-deprecating bit and if we're lucky, the musical guest does as well. Sometimes they'll stay in character and sometimes you'll spot them obviously reading the cue cards. Several actors who appeared on SNL have spun off highly successful movie and television careers. Chevy Chase and Eddie Murphy are now a big stars, but weren't always. Steve Martin, Chris Farley and others. Andy Samberg has a successful television show, Brooklyn 99. Mike Myers made two full length Wayne's World movies out of his Wayne Campbell character with sidekick Garth Algar. Some bits transcend the time since they appeared live, including the Church Lady, MacGruber (Will Forte and Kristen Wiig), Jeopardy! with Will Ferrell (and occasionallyDarrell Hammond and Norm MacDonald). The wonderful Olympia Cafe (cheeseburger! cheeseburger! No Coke! Pepsi!). "More Cowbell" with the scene stealing Will Ferrell appearing with Christopher Walken as Blue Oyster Cult is working on their song "Don't Fear (the Reaper)." Yeah, it's good. Sometimes, it's unfunny. Sometimes, it's downright stupid. But LIVE FROM NEW YORK! IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT! [Review 15993 overall - 315 in New York - 1498 of 2021.]

Going to a studio taping involves a lot of standing and waiting. I found the seating process for this show to be very well organized and everyone interacted very politely with audience members. The process is simple; apply, get your confirmation code, arrive at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, and wait on line for ID and ticket check. (People will arrive earlier than the stated check in time. The earlier you arrive, the closer your seat will be to the front). You will receive a small "Seth Meyers card" after your ID and emailed ticket have been checked. Then you will continue to wait in the lobby. After a while, small groups of maybe 10-15 people are ushered up the stairs after the little card is exchanged for a ticket and a wrist band. Then one by one everyone must go through security, which is set up similar to the airport scans and metal detectors, complete with trays for your items. You must put on the wristband and show the ticket to get into the waiting room. There is plenty of seating, a water fountain, and a unisex bathroom in this room. Other shows share this space so when there is an overlap in production times the room becomes very full. Everyone is encouraged to use the bathroom or drink water before going into the studio because we are told that once in we will not be allowed out until the taping is finished. All phones must be powered off and put away. After a short wait people are called into the hallway in alphabetical order based on the letter/letters on the back of the ticket. (Two or more people arriving together get the same letter assignment and will be seated together.) Groups of 8-10 people are lined up and told to wait by the elevator that will take everyone to the floor of the studio. The hallway to the studio from the elevator is decorated with framed stills from iconic SNL sketches from the 50 years of the show. (No pictures are allowed since we were previously told to power off all phones.) The seats are well cushioned flip down seats. Similar in dimension and space to what one might find at a Broadway show. Not the most comfortable but definitely not the worst. A warm up comic said a few things and explained how the taping will proceed. The comic randomly tossed t-shirts and exited. Seth Meyers came out and thanked us for our time and also said a few jokes. He in effect did his own warm up, then he told us he will reenter in less than a minute and the show will begin. He did his opening and a Closer Look, then the taping stoped for a few minutes. He walked up the steps into the audience and said he had time to answer a few questions. What a great guy!! The taping resumed and the two guests on May 7, 2026, were Lisa Kudrow and Nicholas Braun. After the two interviews the credits rolled, then the taping was over. We were directed back to the elevators and each given a 10% off coupon to use in the gift shop upon exiting. Definitely a worthwhile experience if you are in New York City or plan to visit.
