Went on a Sunday morning after opening, I ordered at the same time as another couple except I wanted my order to go. It was just two in the building. I think they got their food 25 minutes after ordering and after 40 minutes I went to check and they were still working on it. They just needed fries. After 50 minutes they were finally ready. There's signs that say a 50 minutes is expected if they are busy but there were not other customers in the building. I think they forgot I was waiting and assumed it was an online order. The mild wings were cold by the time I got home so I had to reheat. The fries tasted great and were the best part of the meal, lemon pepper and mild wings had similar taste to Wingstop. Saw this place on Tik Tok so stopped by for a quick lunch. I ordered a 3 piece tender in mild, fries and a daquiri. All orders are made to order so it did take about 15-20 minutes to receive the food. It was fresh and flavorful and definitely worth the wait. Many flavors of both chicken and daquiris to choose from. The seating is all outdoors either covered or on the patio. Parking at the location is pretty slight but plenty of parking nearby. Ok let's be clear I don't leave reviews I had to create a account just to do so. I ordered this food at 11:19am I didn't receive my food till 5 minutes til 12. I was fine with that because I figured it would be really good so the wait was okay. I ordered a 10 piece wing meal with fries and a fried pickle, I paid $2 extra for all flats. I ordered two flavors the mild buffalo, and the hot Cheeto honey. The buffalo was okay at best but the hot Cheeto was extremely salty. When you use a dry rub that's already salted your suppose to not season the chicken underneath so it's not a salt overload. The fries were cold they were clearly made before the chicken. The fried pickle was extra dry, and the breading tasted burnt. I spent $25 in a meal that I wish I never experienced it was a total waste of time and money. Then I ordered online before I got there and still waited a while. The worst part was it was no customers so I don't understand what took so long. I would not recommend to anyone, a ordinary person can make way better food at home. Oh and the wings you can't tell from the picture were HUGE they most definitely are buying meat from hormone infused chickens. Everything is cooked to order and you are told it may be a wait. So chill outside in their spacious patio area enjoy the upbeat music, watch some TV, check in on Yelp, and/or enjoy a cocktail. Onto the chicken... breaded and cooked perfectly. With your bird bath basket, you also receive a fried pickle and a few curly fries. The chicken is king here and it is delicious. However! Their sauces are not on point. I was led to believe that their Quack Quack - Asian Heat was pretty spicy. It was not maybe a 2 out of 5. The Fowl Chicken - Garlic Parmesan also lacked flavor. So my wife and I decided to try this place out after a few other places we wanted to try were closed on Monday. It's located in Leanders little down town area next to Leander Beer Market and across the street from Maggie Maes. When we arrived, we knew we were close because when we got out of the car we smelled chicken, but because our cell phones both lost signal, it took us a few a minutes minutes but we followed our noses and found it. It's kinda a hole of a wall inside but a nice whole in the wall. The staff was super friendly. If you were wondering why they call it Thirsty chicken, it's about all the frozen drinks they sell. We opted to split a small margarita for $10. The place seem pretty expensive for what you get, but then again inflation is pretty high. The margarita was ok. It's served in a slushy cup - you know the ones that have a round lids sticking an inch or so up and served with a bubble tea fat straw. Kinda odd. The fried pickles are good but not great. IMO pluckers are better. The 10 wing basket for $17 was also really good. It came with a fried pickle, curled fries, and the 10 wings. The wings themselves were on the small side. I suspect ( totally guessing here) that's it's because it's an organic chicken. If not, then they are small. Regardless, the fries are great and the wings are awesome. Probably some of the tastiest wings I've ever had. They have a playlist of music they listen too. It seems to center around r&b/hip hop but they play others. A few of the songs I despised, some were alright and some brought me back to high school ( ace of base and sir mix a lot anyone). They were all too loud. I'll admit, I'm getting old and maybe loud music isn't my thing , but I found the volume level annoying loud. Wife thought the same thing. Visited the newly opened (October 2021) eatery in downtown Leander called 'The Thirsty Chicken' (TTC) and wanted to share my thoughts. They are: Hot, fast, tasty! TTC's literally around the corner from the Leander Beer Market on 104 W. Willis, and they're similar in that they've got a funky, free-wheelin' vibe. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered the 'Jailbird'. Which is 2 chicken tenders on a bun, served with a deep-fried dill pickle and fries, plus a couple of sauces (which they cleverly call 'bird baths'). Inside, there's only 1-2 tables. However, they have both a covered and also a tree-shaded porch area with several tables and stand-up areas, so there's plenty of room for a lot of people on a Friday night. I especially liked that you get a pager to come up to a serving window to pick up food, which neatly side-steps the issues many establishments have with server staffing. Everything I ordered came out reasonably fast, fresh, and steaming HOT. The tenders were crispy, as were the half-twist style fries and pickle. Toasted bun was especially good, somewhere between a brioche and sponge dough. I tried a couple 'bird baths' and recommend the house sauce called 'The Plunge', which was creamy and not too zippy. I'll definitely be back for the chicken wings! Some notes: 1) This is a cashless restaurant; they only take credit and debit card. 2) There are a few parking spots directly in front of TTC; otherwise there's plenty of street parking. Of course on a Friday or Saturday night, YMMV. 3) I got a couple Jolly Rancher candies along with my meal, gratis. Don't know if this is for Halloween or a quirky add-on, but a cube of Green Apple is a heck of a lot nicer for me than an after-dinner mint, so extra point to TTC for that. :-) 4) Kudos for the wide entry ramps and doors; someone went out of their way to make this place extremely accessible. This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Best wings I have had to date in Texas. Asian heat and barbecue were our favorites. Made fresh. Good and crispy. Great covered and heated outdoor seating. Fries were tasty with the Cajun seasoning. So we tried out thirsty chicken on a Friday night. We were both craving hot wings. I placed an order through toast tab app for pickup. We ordered 15 wings with Cajun fries and a mangonada daiquiri. The wings- we got The Kickin Chicken - Buffalo Style (Medium), The Twisted TailFeather SPICY Lemon Pepper, and The Quack Quack - Asian Heat Our favorite was the spicy lemon pepper. Absolutely delicious. The other two failed in comparison. The fries- I'm not a frie fan but my fiancée loves all things potatoes. She ate them all. I found them to be good or as good as a potato can be lol The drink- the mangonada was perfection. I got an extra shot for $1. Btw you can't order any of their alcoholic beverages through toast tab. I was honestly only a quarter of the way through my drink and felt super tipsy! Overall, definitely would try thirsty again. GREAT QUALITY CHICKEN, worth the wait. Highly recommend if you're craving chicken wings. We ordered the "Hen" wings and the "Jailbird" chicken sandwich. Both were amazing and we will be ordering them again. They make it transparent from the beginning that they cook the food to order and there may be a small wait before receiving the food. Our wait was about 30 minutes, but it was more than worth the wait. Both the ranch and the house sauce were very good, and matched perfectly with the style of fries. We ordered both the Cajun style fries and regular. Cajun was not very spicy, but still very good. The Buffalo hot sauce was the level of spicy that leaves you craving more but would not consider very hot (ie: doesn't burn the tongue). I was not a fan of the (non-alcoholic) drink selection. At this location they only have bottled and canned soft drinks/water. As someone to drinks a lot of water, the small Niagara bottled water just wasn't enough & having to pay for bottled water at a restaurant is never preferred. Other than that, we will be back! I love the food here! The flavors were all delicious, the fries are addicting, and the chicken itself was cooked nicely. My only complaint is that the pickles get a little soggy when you get takeout because they're in the hot box of fries, but not the biggest deal! But I really wanted to highlight the service! I put in a huge order (like 6 orders of 15 wings each) and it was all ready within half an hour. Ordering online tells you to expect the food by a certain time but my ready text came before that time had come up. The workers are also all super friendly, even the folks in the kitchen popping their heads out to talk. Huge thanks to the server who helped me walk all my bags to the car, and a big shout out to the woman working who made sure I was ok with the gentleman walking me out since it was pretty dark outside. When you're thirsty for chicken, get the Thirsty Chicken! After negative experiences at a couple of local and chain wing places, I was hankerin' for some wings and didn't want to be disappointed. The first thing I noticed when ordering online, was their online menu and menu on a delivery platform was hilarious! I love that they take their food seriously but interject a great sense of fun with offering "Birdbaths" as sauce and "Bird Feed" as popcorn. They've got a pretty good selection of 11 sauces, and as a Garlic-a-holic who likes a little bit of spice I ended up going with The Dirty Bird and the Kickin' Chicken (Buffalo Medium). I was pleasantly surprised that they allowed not only 2 sauces for 5 tenders, but also a separate dipping sauce for a price that beats most local and chain places. I definitely recommend the Hen Bird Box, but if you're looking for a great bargain and aren't voraciously hungry, the Chick is 3 tenders at a price that beats most fast food joints. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast it was cooked and even delivered (which I know isn't the restaurant's responsibility, but it's a nice plus). The food arrived piping hot and wow, the chicken quality was FANTASTIC. You could tell it was high quality, juicy and succulent cuts, not the gristle you get nowadays with certain chains (looking at you, certain chain that started in Austin). The spiciness was strong, but not overpowering on the Dirty Bird and Kickin' Chicken both, and you could really taste the garlic and parmesan. The fries and fried pickle spear were both cooked to perfection and made for a nice break from the heat. One other awesome callout is they offer Vegetarian options using cauliflower!
