I was in Ardmore for business the week before my second marathon and needed a pre-marathon massage…read more I booked at lunchtime with Mary at Ardmore Massage Company for a 90min swedish massage. The place itself is pretty nice- small and functional but comfortable. They had all the normal amenities- a heated massage table, warm blankets and soft music. I did feel the lack of aromatherapy which has become pretty common at massage studios. Mary was a decent therapist, although I'm not an expert on this, I think the massage did the trick for my marathon. I did notice that when we would start to have a conversation she would stop working on whatever she was doing- like she couldn't really talk and massage at the same time. That was ok with me since I prefer not to talk during a massage anyway, but if you are

A couple of weeks ago, I caught a glimpse of my back in the mirror and was absolutely dumbfounded. I turned to my wife and asked if she could help remove the hair. She confidently said yes and bought a waxing kit from a local store. Fast-forward to our DIY waxing session--it started off okay on the upper back, but once she got to the lower back and love handle area, it was a whole different story. The pain was unreal. I actually had to holler "uncle" to get her to stop. Of course, she was laughing like she was enjoying the torture, which didn't help. We happened to be heading to Ardmore for the weekend, so I looked up a professional waxing studio that could do it right--and with less pain. That's when I found Wild Orchid Waxing Studio. I was a bit nervous and had some anxiety since I'd never done anything like this before. But from the moment I walked in, I was put at ease. The studio is owned and operated by a husband-and-wife team, and they create an extremely clean, professional, and welcoming environment. I shared my home waxing horror story, and we all had a good laugh. More importantly, they explained the process clearly, handled everything with care, and provided excellent aftercare advice. The entire experience was virtually pain-free compared to what I went through at home. I highly recommend Wild Orchid Waxing Studio to anyone in southern or south-central Oklahoma. Whether you're new to waxing or just looking for a professional and trustworthy place, this is it. You will not be disappointed!

Absolutely Fantastic Experience at Nail Club and Spa!…read more Nail Club and Spa is truly fantastic! My daughter‑in‑law and I arrived about 30 minutes before closing and asked if it was too late to get a pedicure and acrylic nails. Without hesitation, they told us it was no problem at all. Because our services would take some extra time, they even called Wendy to come in--and she showed up very quickly and got right to work. She started with my pedicure (which looks phenomenal, by the way), then completed my acrylic nails, and even waxed my brows afterward. Despite everything we had done, we were finished efficiently and never felt rushed. I don't remember the name of the technician who worked on my daughter‑in‑law, but her toes and nails turned out exactly how she wanted, and she was equally happy with her results. Later that same day, I noticed some polish had come off my big toe and both of my thumbnails chipped. When we returned the next day they were open, they fixed everything quickly and without any hassle. Unfortunately, one thumbnail messed up again--but once again, Wendy took care of it and made it right. The staff is incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. They even offer beverages while you're getting all spiffed up, which is such a nice touch. I can confidently say I will never go to another nail salon, and I won't use anyone but Wendy. That girl deserves a raise for having to deal with me! Hands down, this is the best nail salon between here and Dallas/OKC. Highly recommend!
