Great addition to the Oscoda downtown business area. This Tea centric business has a really nice selection of loose leaf tea to choose from with indoor seating available to sit and enjoy your cup of tea. If your looking to take some tea home with you it is also available in various cute decorated tins of all shapes and sizes from various producers and also in bulk by the ounce ($4 per ounce) of the tea they steep in house for sale by the cup/pot. Aside from the tea, this business also sells a nice assortment of tea pots that include, glass, stainless steel, ceramic and porcelain pots along with a large nice/tasteful selection of tea cups/sets. Tea merchandize aside, it has an eclectic selection of merchandize for sale that includes some clothes, artwork, bags and decorated furniture amongst other things that cater to the tourists that pass through this area during the summer months. Relative to staff, the owner is super friendly and definately very helpful in helping/guiding you towards a tea you might like based on your personal preference which I definitely appreciated leading me to find a delightful tea that I ended up buying several ounces of to take home (Thai Chai). All in all a gem of a small business that should definitely be checked out especially if you are a fan of good tea like I am. Five stars all day long in my book for both the quality of the product and the friendlyness of the staff/ownership.

What a fantastic party. Thank you for this special event.

We had a 98th birthday party for my mother in law. It was wonderful. We are regular customers. It's our special place.

Great Chai latte and crepes…read more We stopped in here on vacation earlier this month. I was kind bummed that my favorite local coffee spot had closed up awhile back (RIP A Different Blend), but super excited to see this cute little tea shop located in the downtown shopping district. I spotted it by chance, but when I saw that East Tawas had an actual tea room, I was there in a flash. I dragged my husband out of the gift shop we were in and we headed over to check it out in person. I wasn't even all that hungry, but I was a bit thirsty and with my curiosity definitely peaked, I took a look inside. It looked every bit as friendly and inviting as one might expect a small town tea shop/cafe to be. It looked and felt every inch the indie tea house that it should be. My husband and I ordered two iced vanilla Chai lattes and some sweet crepes to split between us. Honestly, my latte tasted so delicious, very well-made with a nice, natural vanilla flavor. Whatever syrup they've using, it must be high-quality. My drink lacked the artificial aftertaste often found in inferior syrups (or ones that are past their freshness date). Overall, the latte was great and the service was relatively expedient, even though the person waiting on us seemed to be working alone. My husband doesn't even usually order Chai lattes because he's been burned a few times before when ordering them, as have I, but he was suitably impressed as well. The crepes were amazing, rich with fresh fruit and a nice whipped topping. The crepes themselves were excellent, and while rich and sweet, they weren't too sweet, either. They were some of the lightest crepes I've ever had. I would order them again in a second. While I wasn't that hungry, I was slightly annoyed that I decided to split the order of two crepes with my husband because they were so good. They were cheap, too- about $4.50 for two. I noticed the large selection of bubble teas that were on the menu. I happen to like bubble tea, but didn't try any while we were there. The list of flavors looked impressive. Maybe next time.

The Tea House is our favorite stop when we come up to Oscoda!! Our girls love the "Snow" drink…read morewhich is cream with a flavor syrup and bubbles-they also have great coffee, my husband got the salted caramel cold brew and he was delicious. The staff and their service is super friendly and helpful. We love the vibe as well and could probably spend the afternoon sipping and reading :). We've attached the new menu!

Manifesting the Perfect Latte (And It Worked)…read more Before I even stepped foot into Live Oak Coffeehouse, I closed my eyes and set my intention. I envisioned the perfect coconut almond milk latte--smooth, rich, subtly sweet, and crafted with care. I felt the warmth of the cup in my hands, the aroma wrapping around me like a cozy hug from the universe itself. I whispered to the cosmos: "Let this latte be everything I desire and more." And guess what? The universe delivered. I entered Live Oak with gratitude in my heart, and the barista--clearly an enlightened being--crafted my drink with the energy of a thousand good vibrations. The first sip? Pure alignment. The flavors danced in harmony, the temperature was just right, and for a moment, I felt like I had truly ascended. The ambiance of this place? Calm, inviting, full of positive frequencies. People chatted, read, worked, all in a state of peaceful flow. You could feel the creativity and good energy buzzing in the air. Some say you can't manifest happiness in a cup, but I'm here to tell you--you absolutely can. If you're ever in Midland, set your intention, walk into Live Oak, and let the magic happen.

Good coffee, friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere to chat with friends or even do some work…read more We were visiting Midland for a niece's graduation. We visited Live Oak Twice during our stay. They have a large selection of coffees that they roast themselves. Unlike a major chain, their coffee doesn't taste like burnt beans. The coffee had a nice flavor, with a strong finish that isn't bitter. Their syrups are also made in house. For the ones we tried, they were delicious. Not sugary sweet, so you can actually decern the various flavors. There was a board with the staff's choices, one being a Cinnamon and Brown Sugar, my partner enjoyed it and it was fantastic when she let me try it. I had both the Caramel Latte and Macchiato. I was pleased with both. Even though we didn't get any, they had a good selection of Gluten Free options. The food is also made in house, meaning that they make these gluten free options on their own. Unlike many other chains and local shops that don't have any Gluten Free options, even if they are resold versions of major brands. That shows a care for those in the community that either for medical reasons or by choice eat Gluten Free. The environment in the shop is warm and inviting. Whether you are having a conversation with friends, reading a book, or trying to work on your laptop you'll find an area for you. The staff was friendlier than what I expect from a coffee shop. Usually they will great you, but they're more about getting your order and moving on to the next customer. The staff here would answer questions and where informative. Surprisingly, many of them were knowledgeable not only about the coffee, but the business itself. Do not sleep on Live Oak Coffee. You'll regret it.
