A little hodge podge of supporting industries - B&Bs, pubs, etc have popped up in the surrounding area to support the visitors to the park I usually stay in a B&B near the park and am usually searching for somewhere to have dinner nearby if I can't be bothered to drive to one of the larger entertainment areas near Stoke-on-Trent I discovered the lovely little restaurant at the Bulls Head in the charming village of Alton just down the road. It's also a B&B and a pub but the restaurant is an excellent choice for an evening meal. There is limited seating so it's best to book They serve British classics but these are well cooked and showcase local produce. Recommended if you're in the area

Very easy on the eye, great surroundings of an area called Dimminsdale set between the villages of Alton and Oakamoor in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Booking is essential to get a beautiful meal here. I have eaten here in the past on a regular basis and then taken a walk in the area of beauty and next to the River Churnet, watching the wildlife, watching the river, winding its way through., or walk the other way through the woodland. Quite sturdy walking even for pushchairs apart from when its been raining hard when Wellies are a must!!!!
