However - 4 stars means good food and service. usual menu with a couple of specials in keeping with the fusion effect they are going for. portion size was good, chicken and lamb was good quality and plenty of it. there was 4 of us, we didnt bother with starters just making do with the papads and dips. 4 curries, 4 veg sides, 2 naan, 3 rice, 8 pints of Cobra = £100 with tip. thats good value I think. Shown straight to a table and given papads plus dips. Drinks came quickly too. We ordered a good selection of curry plus a chicken tikka sizzler. The food arrived and seemed OK part from the sizzler which was actually chicken tikka on top of fried onions on a cold skillet. It would have been better for them to say we don't do sizzlers. My madras was OK but far to mild for me, however that's a personal preference. Special mention must go to the tarka dhall which was bad, watery and tasteless. I guess when it was made it was fine but obviously watered down to make it go as far as possible. Service was OK but as there are a couple of other Indians within a 5 minute walk I probably wouldn't go back.
