Cons: communication at pickup was lacking. No after restoration report to let me know what was adjusted. Cannot tell what was serviced or restored. There doesn't appear to be more than a cursory wipe down of an instrument that hasn't been played for more than 25 yrs. Corks and pads are all the same as brought in, with no discernible work done or replacements. $210 for someone to wipe down the instrument poorly and oil valves? When asking to purchase cork grease upon pickup, was denied and told it was only for rentals despite more than $400 of business between resto and additional purchases. Options are quite limited locally, it's pretty much the only music shop in town for woodwinds and brass, but would recommend shopping around if you have the opportunity. Your mileage may vary. In the age of cell phone games and YouTube shorts, it is a blessing that my kids have a hobby that is harmonious to their mind and joyful to grow on.

I have always made exhaustive lists weighing the pros and cons of any endeavor. After researching several studios, I decided this was the one! Consistency is key in becoming good. We've had the same teacher since we began 3 years ago. Srimal is not only a teacher, but performs regularly with a band around town. I appreciate when a teacher also honors their craft by doing it. Srimal is very patient. Works to get the best out of his students. Pushes them, but also meets them where they are. Rather than offer information/help on their offerings I was left with the impression that I judged to be a looky-loo. After about ten-minutes of looking around I gave up and left the gentleman/staff to hover over the guy jamming away. Hope that guy bought something because I certainly wasn't offered that opportunity. And as for pre-judging me as a waste of time to help, later that afternoon I found ProAudioLand who were very helpful and purchased a $1,000 Gretsch guitar. Ironically, ProAudioLand isn't really a retail store for guitars. Even though they specialize in online sales their staff went out of their way to help me with my requests.

During a lesson scheduled from 7:00 to 7:30 PM, my daughter was sent outside unattended to look for my car because the instructor claimed I was "late." By 7:31 PM, she was already standing outside next to my vehicle. Not only does this mean she was not receiving the full instructional time we paid for, but sending a child outside into a parking lot without confirming a parent is present is a major safety hazard and a breakdown of proper release procedures. When I emailed management twice to raise these serious safety concerns and request an immediate cancellation, I never received a reply, an apology, or even an acknowledgment that my emails were received. Instead, I just got a cold, generic notification that the classes were canceled. To make matters worse, no refund was ever issued for the lost instructional time or the abrupt cancellation due to their safety oversight.

I was rescheduled several times and when I came In there was No warm welcome and she didn't even confirm my name when I went for my trial session. The instructor was nice but super limited availability and i didn't really go over much technique in the trial compared to the last vocal training I had before. We also didn't get started until about 12 min into the trial lesson which was a paid 30 min session. My honest feedback is that there should be a quick client phone call to go over details and keep background and getting to know each other to a quick 3 min elevator pitch introduction because that took up paid time. I squeezed my hope for a positive interaction with reception when we finished and the lady in front hardly gave eye contact and wasn't naturally kind or welcoming. She scrambled to get me onboarded after I prompted her to get me signed up and she grazed over fees like I already knew everything even though we never went over any details about the academy. ( I did not ) Music is a fine art, I guess I was expecting to be ushered into the process with a little inspiration... the investment didn't feel worth it for me. The next day I read some of the reviews and the responses to them and was really turned off by what I saw. Honestly the 2nd star is only because it would have been really nice to work with Liz and Summer was nice on the phone when I spoke to her, but the energy was so heavy and dense in the onboarding process it really rubbed me the wrong way and I couldn't see myself coming to take lessons for the next 6 months.

She is a wonderful teacher and is able to customize a learning plan so you really feel like you're making progress. I walk away from each lesson feeling super productive and excited about what I have learned. I highly recommend her! It's so fun to start playing a lot of the pieces that I have loved listening to my whole life. Also, I feel like I would be remiss if I didn't address her problem-solving skills. This has been most invaluable to me. Learning the piano is not for the weak of heart, but her patience, kindness and best of all, her ability to understand the way you think and best how to troubleshoot your difficulties is HUGE. Very patient and always had a planned lesson for me when I would show up. 30 minute lessons fly-by so we later moved to an hour. I progressed so much in just a couple months and I plan on going back soon. I'm an intermediate player but I also saw many beginners and children at this school. We mainly covered blues and jazz, per my request, and also educated me on music theory. I didn't take a lesson with Mark but he seemed like a cool guy to talk to about music and was impressed with his shredding skills too. Plenty of parking the rear also and the Rhythm and Notes guitar shop is cool to visit and geek out about gear with Beatle Bob.
