Very good place for gigs, and they usually have gigs on at least once a month, the only reason I dont go to them is because blackheath is a bit far away for me to go but I do go if there is a local band I like playing. The atmosphere is nice, and there are friendly staff and the drinks are quite reasonably priced.

However, once you make it inside, you change you're mind immediately- the decor isn't too bright, but not too dark either.they haven't got much to offer in the way of ales and bitters, but the lagers are about as cheap as you are going to get outside of wetherspoons. i always find that the food says it all aobut the pub- and this is no exception. upon ordering a very well priced steak, i was suprised when it came up- not piled on the plate, it was instead rather neatly placed. A sure sign the chef knows and loves what he does. having been a fan of my steaks well done, but often finding them to be crucified, this was just well done- still a hint of pink on the middle as well, as steaks should be. i was tempted to go for deserts, but that would have been too much to handle! so maybe next time. the staff are very polite. the atmosphere is good, and the people friendly whats more you can take the kids and the mother in law as well!. definately worth a visit, and one of my regulars!

Great selection of meats, cheeses and other 'niche' type products along with novelty - but not tacky - gift ideas. Staff can be friendly and attentive but sometimes seem more interested in chatting to each other. Can feel a little 'cliquey' at times. Have to admit the oils and gifts they sell are nice and quite a good choice. Do like the fact they have throws and hot water bottles on the outside tables in winter but have to admit there are 3 or 4 others places in the immediate vicinity where I would rather eat.

Downstairs is the club with a dedicated dance floor with raised sitting all around it and a bar just to the side. From the bar you go up to the second level which is a chilled out bar area with comfy sofa and stools. My favourite part of the club is the darkened room, which is just off the upstairs bar area, very low lights with back ground music and candle light walls and tables. The prefect place to start off your night with a bottle of vino and a girly chat!! Drinks in here are surprising cheap considering how trendy and modern it its. Bottles or beer and Smirnoff and such are £2.50 and a glass of large wine And I mean a Bucket!... Is around £3.20 or a full bottle for about £12. From the dark room there's a terraced area with benches and heaters for smoking and the music from downstairs is fed out here. They usually have guest DJ's and mostly funky house, but the have open mick nights, Elvis dedication nights (which really dose not fit in with there theme but whatever goes!!!) during the week oh and salsa on Wednesday nights! All in all, very good place to start off your night, get you into the swing of things with only a 35 min bus ride into the city.

The food is yummy grub pub food - opportunity to get either 10, 20 or even 30 chicken wings!!! I chose the Nachos as per, with chilli, and they were nommylicious. Well, the floor was deserted, and the music/video combination didn't make sense. The screen would show a minute of MJ, minute of Prince, minute of MJ again, but no connection with the music, which was occasionally by either of them (but not matching the video) and occasionally something else. I didn't get it. The Nutella milkshake is delicious, but even though we were the only people at the bar, it took them a good ten minutes to make our shakes. The bartenders were all just standing around talking, doing nothing. Is this place meant to be American themed? Didn't feel American at all. Would not return either.
