If you're looking to see Australian wildlife, this park is probably one of the less known local…read moreoptions, but it does have its virtues. It has inherited a conservation function, and some of their animals are rescues that can't survive in the wild or breeding populations. The park isn't all that large, and just wandering around it you'd be done pretty quickly, but they do a daily series of shows, covering a variety of different animals. Their birds of prey (and owls) are quite impressive and will whiz right by you, while their wallabies will cutely prance about. There is an enclosure where you can walk up close to the wallabies and an emu. Seekers of the best known animals will find there is a feeding for the "small" salt water crocodiles and some koalas hanging out in trees (though you can't get close to them). Personally, I was most fascinated by the cassowaries, large, flightless birds with a sort of fur instead of feathers. The shows are enough to keep a group of tourists or kids entertained for most of the day, and the handlers seemed to know what they were doing. The park itself, though, will be the first to admit that it's only an introduction, and the best way to see the wildlife is ultimately to track it down in the wild. They do point that out, while giving the occasional tip to protect travelers from the ever-dangerous creatures (and them from us). At the park here, there is a considerable boardwalk through the wetlands, and you can walk by the creek down to the ocean (all of this is outside of the paid area and it was news to me). The park itself might be worth visiting once, but what's beyond it is what you should come back for again and again.

There is a public toilet and small playground for the kids. Winding away from the sizeable carpark are several paved walking tracks. Stay nice and quiet on your hike and you'll find out why this reserve is so special. Kangaroos, koalas, kookaburras, brightly coloured parrots and lots of other bird life are ever present. I've never visited Boronia Bushland Reserve without coming across the huge mob of kangaroos that live in the area. Sometimes they come right out into the playground area to munch on the grass.

In fact, this particular beach, for its location, turn out to be rather quiet and unassuming, which is probably a good thing if you are actually looking for such a beach. Then again, I did happen to turn up here in winter so there is that. Still, compared with the other beaches along this stretch of coast, this would be one to preference if you don't particularly appreciate the crowds.

Palm Beach is a dog-friendly beach and a prime spot for off-leash beach frivolity for your canine. Similarly, there's an inlet with relatively calm water for kids to swim in. Pack a picnic, shade-giving umbrella, a good book and while the day away at the water's edge. Oh, and if you're a keen plane spotter, this beach is prime position for seeing many of the jets landing and taking off from Cooloongatta Airport.

Heres the verdict (based visually by features and price. 1. Razor is abit wider and longer, say 8cm on the whole different to Oz. 2. Razor is cheaper bcoz Oz has aluminium frame. Approx $300 difference. 3. Foam seat is better in Oz kayak 4. Razor kayak max load is 179kg andvOz is 113kg 5. When u look at both kayak pics, u will see Razor is open than Oz. In Oz, the seating unwill see its more covered in the front part of kayak.

Surfer's Paradise is immaculate and lives up to its name. The beach is clean and welcoming…read more There are beautiful plantings along the esplanade and great places to relax. I prefer a less crowded beach where you don't deal with parking issues, but it was well worth our time for a brief visit. I personally was moved by the Anzac memorials. My dad was a career soldier in the USArmy and he speaks fondly of the ANZAC troops that he served with. The handicapped work there was also a point of joy for me. There are volunteers to put you in a sand and seaworthy wheel chair. Such joy!

A good activity for kids under the age of 5 with a few caveats. Nice water features with spray…read moreelements, little wading pools, a waterfall, and more. Lots of shade and benches. Cafe nearby within the park as well. It's also near the Australia Fair Shopping Centre (which is very poorly laid out but at least it is close) if you need to combine a trip with shopping. My quibbles: 1. Parking isn't free - it's $AUS 1.90 an hour. Not a huge deal - worth it to help cover the expenses of the space. 2. There isn't a changing area directly by the play area. Most of these sorts of playspaces that are water-specific seem to have changing areas surrounding the pools, but this one you had to walk a bit too. When you are schlepping kids and gear, you really want it closer. 3. This pool is definitely geared towards little ones, but there's a lot of undulation in the ground surface and thus makes it prone to falls. We witnessed several kids injure themselves in the 45 minutes we were there. 4. It's a bit difficult to see exactly where this is from the road because it is hidden by trees. Go into the main broadwater parklands entrance and park. 5. There are also two playgrounds in this location: one close to the water area that's fine but in a bit of a wooded area and thus prone to bugs, and other that's a really big walk away. It's a pretty walk along the shore and there's a little beach en route past the large intervening field area, but with little kids, it's a bit too far. There's also no parking at that end of the park, so you can't start at the playground without some difficulty. The larger playground has some really cool elements for bigger kids and some nice elements for little ones, but not a whole lot in between for kids between the ages of 4-7 or so. It also has very limited shade in the zone above the slides and climbing structures, though good shade in other areas. All in all, we won't be going back while we are on the Gold Coast, but if you've got small kids and they need a break from the beach, you could do worse than a visit to the Rockpools.
