Our business specializes in Specialty Coffee, which is a grade of quality.
Coffee is evaluated by licensed Q-graders for fragrance, aroma, flavour, aftertaste, acidity, sweetness, mouthfeel, and more.
When a coffee receives a score of 80 points out of a total of 100, it's graded as 'Specialty Coffee' and we live and breathe it!
We also bake our own cakes and prepare homemade brunchie food.
History

Lucy and Michelangelo, a passionate couple from Italy in love with coffee, moved to London six years ago where they decided to open their first coffee consultancy business.
In 2014, they travelled to Costa Rica to volunteer for the
El Toledo Organic Coffee Farm and experience for themselves what real coffee production means.
In May 2016 The Specialty Coffee Shop opens its doors to the public.
In May 2017 The Specialty Coffee Shop was voted Nottingham's best independent business of the year.
The Specialty Coffee Shop reaches its third anniversary on May the 20th 2019 and the young entrepreneurs decide to celebrate by organising a Mini Coffee Festival, partnering with local businesses and influential figures of the specialty industry. The event turned out to be a great success.

The Specialty Coffee Shop is a place for us to express our true passion and dedication to coffee, we partner with some of the very best coffee roasters from around the world in order to showcase only coffee that receives a score of at least 86 points on the cupping table.
We only select seasonal coffee which has been harvested and processed in the same year because this is how the flavour and characteristics of varietal and terroir are best represented.
As professionals, we use the SCA cupping protocol to evaluate all the samples we receive by our partner roasters. Cupping frequently helps us develop an objective judgement on the quality of the coffee we receive.
