I came to Lalor Dental Vestal as a new patient from out of state with an active periodontal…read morecondition that had already been fully diagnosed by my previous dentist (moved), including current X-rays, pocket depth measurements, and a DNA bacterial test. The office rejected my wish to send my existing X-rays and pocket depth records when I called and made an appointment, requiring me to repeat testing that had already been done. The X-ray process took 40 minutes and was very painful which I am not used to in previous annual cleanings, but the hygienist was great and helped normalize that most patients say it's uncomfortable as well. She and the man who greeted me in-person at the front desk are the only reason this is not "0" stars. Dr. Attal showed little interest in my existing documentation or the urgency of my situation, which was very frustrating to me since I was experiencing pain. I was asked to schedule yet another separate appointment just to re-measure pocket depths already on file. Not every patient has the time or financial resources for repeated appointments and duplicate testing, especially when dealing with a painful gum condition requiring prompt treatment. I left feeling dismissed and no closer to the treatment I needed. I will now be driving 7 hours one way to see my previous dentist because Lalor was unwilling to provide the care I need. I would not recommend Dr. Attal to patients who come in with existing records or complex dental needs.

She sent me to have three teeth removed. While I was waiting for those sites to heal I lost the tip of another. I went in to have the tip repaired and she also did purely cosmetic fillings on the outside surface with the warning it might not last. She was right. It didn't. I paid over $800 for a gloss that fell out after two weeks. It's been a year now and the tip repair has fallen out, too. I had a partial plate with six teeth built for almost $2K. I can't wear it. It gives me a speech impediment. She said, "Oh, just read the newpaper outloud." There is so much plastic I can't find my alveolar ridge to form an l, n, d, or t. There is even plastic on the back surface of the upper front teeth, that I can't form an Italian l either. I'm a voice professional and must be able to perform in Italian, French, and English as well as demonstrate to my students. Oddly, I look forward to appointments here because of all the pampering. The little details are what set this practice apart from the others. For example, during a procedure, I was given an eye shield so that particulate matter doesn't get in my eye; I was given headphones to listen to music of my choosing; I was given a hand mirror which I could use anytime I wanted to take a look to see exactly what was being done; the list goes on.
