This little cafe is everything we would want for breakfast, lunch, or brunch. So much, in fact, that we couldn't finish our plates. I had the eggs Benedict, and it was rich the hash browns were delicious. My husband got the biscuits and gravy and, although we call him the CAVEMAN, he got so full he couldn't finish either. We also had tea, milk, OJ and water. The wait staff was courteous not just to the guests BUT TO EACH OTHER. They were out of t-shirts but promised to have more to sell by the time we come back. Nice and friendly staff. Chicken strips were really good. Hot dog was not as tasty as I expected. This place doesn't serve alcohol and that's my reason for the 4 stars as opposed to 5. Oh my! Tim brought around a small sample for the four of us...the "black magic"!cake....just yummy. A very moist cake made with a small amount of mayonnaise and a tantalizing bit of coffee to make you an addict to this surprise called black magic. Don't judge this restaurant by the outside! From the street this cafe blends in to other businesses, but it's definitely a wonderful lunch spot. They have all types of sliders on the menu and offer a selection of sides. The Slider Cafe's slider dishes come with 2 sliders and offer the option to add another one for a few dollars more. The menu contained lots of other non-slider options as well such as sandwiches and breakfast foods. My friend and I both ordered sliders with fries and our meals were delicious! The service here was wonderful and our server was kind and attentive. The only strange thing here is the mix of new and old decor. The bathroom is the best example of this oddity- it had beautifully finished floors yet was located in a dark cement hallway attached to the restaurant. I even had a conversation with my server about the current movement and was quite happy that there are some good people out there. Perfect service and the food was great. Great spot for breakfast! While camping at Thousand Trails, we decided to go into town for breakfast and we're so glad we found Slider cafe. They weren't on google maps but thankfully their address was listed here. I had a veggie omelet. My husband had biscuits and gravy plus eggs, and hash browns and we bought our 2 year old oatmeal. We were hopeful because of the good reviews but the bread for the Turkey sandwich was crumbly and instead of a piece of swiss cheese, the sandwich had a spoonful of grated cheese of some kind. This cafe was a pleasant surprise for my friend and I. Clean and cozy inside. The best sliders we've ever had and there was a good variety from which to choose. I chose a simple burger, cheese and fried onions on white and my friend pulled pork on wheat. The side of BBQ beans was awesome, heavenly flavor. Everything is homemade here so I took home a banana blueberry muffin for snacking later. I'm going back for some homemade pie. We are a bit fussy with our food and Sliders did not disappoint! Wow, that was yummy! We stopped for lunch in LaConner and are glad we did. The staff was happy and welcoming and we enjoyed our lunch. We tried the slider sampler and liked the pulled pork and sriracha the best. (The cheeseburger slider paled in comparison to those two.) We also ordered the slider salad which looked beautiful and was perfectly fresh and yummy. This was a Saturday on a holiday weekend in July and we had no wait for a table and quick service. When driving into La Conner, heading toward the main street down on the water, make note of the location for The Slider Cafe. You will definitely want to come back and eat here! Look to the right when you're about two blocks in from the traffic circle. It's just across from the Pioneer Market, the only grocery store in town. WHAT A GREAT PLACE! The food, service and ambience is just what you want. Everything has just been upgraded and the cooks know what they're doing. Make sure to check the daily special, because the regular fare is very good, but sometimes they really outdo themselves with the specials. I have had the pastrami sandwich with actual homemade baked beans on the side and a special Philly cheesesteak omelette that was unbelievable. When you order the basic breakfast you get eggs, four pieces of bacon or sausage, hash browns and your choice of toast, English muffin or pancakes. Yes that was plural! If you order the pancakes you'd better be hungry cause there's two of them and they're big, and you still have to finish the eggs, hash browns and meat. They also have great blueberry pancakes, and breakfast all day if you want. Of course, their namesake, the sliders are excellent. Oh and did I mention, they make homemade pie! read more
