The Tipsy Caravan

It saddens me to write this review, because I thought Sarah was great prior to my wedding day, but…read moreunfortunately I feel like I need to share my negative experience. I purchased beer/wine/signature cocktail bartending services on my wedding day for 250 guests. This was to include mixers, napkins, cups, ice, and iced water to be served on/near the bar. Our total headcount was less than 250 adult guests. A little over 1 hour into serving guests, the bartenders had already run out of cups. Not only that, but by that time, they ran out of simple syrup for one of our signature drinks. Tipsy Caravan had suggested that we buy 5 handles of whiskey for the signature drink and by the time they were out of simple syrup, they had only used 1 handle. Instead of buying more cups while we were eating dinner, the bartenders asked to borrow some cups from the caterers, which was not enough to supply the rest of the evening. Bartenders were informing guests they would only be able to get wine or cocktails if they reused their cups, which is embarrassing and unacceptable. A guest left the to go buy water bottles because there were no cups for people to drink water from at the bar. Beyond this, I heard from guests that bartenders were not knowledgable about which wine was which and seemed to "have no clue what they were doing." The Coles Garden venue coordinator told me that the bartenders "seemed to know nothing about the event" and that they had issues with the bartenders they had to address during the evening. I understand that mistakes happen, however, it does not seem that Tipsy Caravan did much of anything to correct their mistakes. There was never a line at the bar after cocktail hour because there were no cups, so they had plenty of time to correct this mistake. It is really upsetting to think you are hiring an experienced team and getting an underprepared set of bartenders who guests said had no idea what they were doing. Not only that, but after cocktail hour, the bartenders were basically just dispensing cans/bottles, as they were unable to serve mixed drinks or wine due to lack of cups, even though we paid for beer/wine/signature cocktail services for 4.5 hours. We spent so much money on alcohol that is now going unused. My guests still had fun, but told me I should have paid more for an experienced bartending team. I reached out to Tipsy Caravan to make things right, but they only refunded me $25 for cups and $25 for simple syrup. I am totally embarrassed and hiring Tipsy Caravan will be my worst memory of my wedding day.

Vendor Review-…read more Moreno event services aka Pink Ladies bartending services- I reserved this vendor for our wedding on June 12th because she had a special of $50 to bartend. She stated that it covered as long as we needed her but we needed to provide the alcohol and pay a $45 travel fee. We agreed to the service and also hired 2 of her servers for an additional $250 to help for the day. I told her what we were serving and whenever there were changes to the bar, I kept her updated. I later found out that she brought NOTHING with her but a tip jar and a bottle opener. So I accommodated and ordered a shaker and other items needed for a bar, but for some reason, during the reception it couldn't be found. It was explained to them that they had to wear masks and gloves during the reception and they never did. She told my coordinator had she known she had to do all of that, she would have charged me more! The servers didn't put out all of the cocktail hour food and they put the carafes used for the wine back in the boxes with wine still in them, so when I was picking the boxes up when we were cleaning, wine wasted all down the front of my dress, literally soaking me from top to bottom! During the reception, there was an incident where a guest brought in a bottle of champagne. The bartender stated she gave them warnings and they ran off with the bottle. But from witnesses, she asked them once and the bottle was taken out of the venue. When it was asked for again, my niece went to look for the bottle, which was empty, and given to the bartender. I apologized for this incident and understood when.she said she couldn't no longer serve alcohol but the other server could. She then stated another guest had cussed her out and that she couldn't be served, I agreed to her terms. I later found out that this ALSO didn't happen and that the bartender was seen by SEVERAL guests, INCLUDING my father in law, making drinks and drinking them. Later I found out that that same bartender and the guest that she banned had words in a different area of the venue. I DO NOT CONDONE NOR APPRECIATE that type of behavior from my guests bu any means, but the bartender had lied on the guest to begin with and had been drinking OUR  alcohol, so there's some blame on her part as well. As far as the total service offered, it was lackluster and not professional. When I saw that they didnt put out all of the food, clear any dishes from tables, I was thoroughly disappointed. The drinking was the last straw. They ended up leaving about 30 mins into the reception, leaving us with no bartender or servers. If you're looking for a vendor, do not use them. I take ownership for the misconduct of our guest, that person was wrong, but the bartender lied on the guest from the beginning and exaggerated about a lot of other situations as well. Again, I recommend using someone OTHER than Moreno event services aka pink ladies.

I asked the server about the temp and she just shrugged it off and smiled. It was too late to do anything about it and I was hoping it was just ours..... NO it wasn't. We were very embarrassed and disappointed, and tried to not let it upset our daughters night The owner, Dustin, called me a week after, to ask how everything was. I told him it would have been a great meal.... if the food was served at least warm. Dustin told me he would get back with me, I have sent him several text explaining everything... and no response. My advice.... If you use this caterer... Make sure they can serve the food hot.

It was so refreshing to find a new talent, and to see them shine right from the beginning. I have never reviewed them before, but after attending Cork and Canvas at Cole's Garden a couple of weeks ago, I decided to add my voice to the five star reviews here. Cork and Canvas is the main fundraiser for Positive Tomorrows, the elementary school for homeless children. One of the stations at Chefs' Feast was a taco bar. They had a woman making fresh tortillas for the taco bar - at an event! In a ballroom! I've never seen anything like that before, and it made the tacos so delicious. It was cool to see them pull out all the stops for an important fundraiser. There were many other stations that were all outstanding, but seeing that woman make those tortillas for the taco bar was like nothing I've ever seen before!
