There isn't much the Shack can't do. It's a cafe by day serving the good people of Raglan organic, local and free range meals and drinks and a equally as raging tapas restaurant by night. This place is full steam ahead!
Last night I enjoyed a few too many share plates of:
Chorizo croquettes, naan bread with beetroot raita, tomato chutney and red curry, pork belly with a spiced bourbon glaze, chives and sourcream and harissa eggplant with honey, yogurt, pomegranate and dukkah. All exceptally executed and presented meals, that are easily demolished in a matter of seconds.
For people with special dietary requirements, most of the dishes are noted with either gluten or dairy free or vegan and if they aren't, most of them can be with a little extra time.
The locals obvious love this place as it was packed by 7pm, with a 30 minute wait on food orders. That left us time to enjoy a few local wines and ciders before the main event. The Zeffer cider is great with the pork belly, if you can pace yourself.
Great food and drink, relaxed atmosphere and a large local following, it's a love shack. read more
