Yes they cost more but I guess about 75% cheaper than retail. My son, the professor, loves the Orvis brand stuff he finds. There's also plenty of great choices at typical thrift prices. The salespeople are typically friendly and enthusiastic. They dress nicely too; I thrift a lot and the folks here seem to be the nicest. There's always plenty of high quality dog beds and slings at discount prices. Won't ever go anywhere else for those items!

The prices on many things are ambitious enough to be astonishing or insulting. the Amazon Lady seems to be a self appointed authority on all things..antique China ( one set I already own from Target about 10-12 yrs old) . The same set in her store is pre WW 2 and priced outrageously, I asked for a price adjustment on a jacket as the fabric was badly pilled...(I just wanted it for the buttons)...I was told that the fabric was not pilled and was 100% wool...(the label said otherwise). I was scolded loudly for the inquiry in front of many other customers...then was told in what I assumed was meant to be a scathing tone to " have a nice day". Never again!

I happened to have discovered it while walking along the sidewalk of Grandin Road near the Grandin Theatre. Some of the items in their display window entised me to go in and explore all of their consignment merchandise for sale. As soon as I went in exploring the beautiful items, a friendly young lady greeted and welcomed me. She explained how all the items in the store were left on consignment. Items can be consiged on Tuesday with no appointment necessary. Items are tagged with the date they go on sale and if they don't sell by a specified date customers can get 20% off or even up to 40% of the original price. I enjoyed just looking around at all the wonderful items and found a couple I liked so much to purchase and take home. One of them I even got 20% off because of the tagged date. It was a very interesting store that I had never seen one before. I highly recommend that if you're in the area, you stop and give it a visit. Who knows what you will find, and if you purchase something you will be supporting the local store and community members as well.
