Bring your wellies! For it's rather muddy... Overrated and expensive to enter! It cost my friend's parents around £14 or more per person to pay to enter. I offered to pay for my ticket; but they instead that they'd pay, and they did. They didn't do student discount, then. It's about an hour and half away from Cardiff. You have to be really interested in animals to want to go, because there are many animal shows going on; like rides on horses or donkeys or ponies, sheep being herded into a white, gate, pen by sheep dogs. I swear there were even ducks being herded into a pen just the same way. They have plenty of stalls to buy things and win things on, and to buy food from. In some places like the Sainsbury's area you get to try some lovely cheese. There was also a BBC, and an ITV channel room and some more. It's an alright visit, many do turn up there, if it sounds like your thing then I recommend it to you, if not don't bother going. I went for the friendship company really. read more

I'm a fan BUT I think they could provide a free map and list of the day's events to everyone who attends. It's pricey enough and to have to shell out again for basic info is a bit much. They should provide larger print maps too. I know they would be huge but use 2 sides or something, I dunno. I was just squinting all day and it was very uncomfy on the eyes. More detail on the map or on signposts. I wanted to go to something that was supposed to be in the outdoor pursuits area or something but when I got to the area there were things going on in all directions I couldn't find where I wanted to be. The man doing the stone wall demo at 2pm didn't do it. He just stood around chatting to his mates so in the end lots of us just gave up and went away at 2.15. Have lots more cashpoints and mark them on the map! HUGE queues at the couple there were. HSBC's was out of order all day. Not good. Idiots still come through the cattle sheds with pushchairs even though there are big signs. Fine them. read more
