This is a lovely family-run pub located just near the Handcross turn off on the A23. There's a good mix of locals and passing trade who are equally made to feel welcome. Its a dog friendly pub so you do get a lot of the local farmers and game-keepers in there which adds to a nice genuine rustic atmosphere.
The food is excellent and they always keep a specials board running with what ever fresh produce is available. There's a handfull of tables and chairs at the front of the pub which gets the best of the sun and is great to enjoy your lunch or if the weathers bad, sit inside by the nice big open fire and warm up. read more
