We had a lovely stay. Amanda & Steve were very welcoming, the room very comfortable and the breakfast was exactly what we needed for the days' cycling ahead of us. Thanks! read more

He took us to our beautiful, spotlessly clean guest rooms. Every amenity you could possibly think of was available, Andrew and Anne have remembered everything. Comfortable beds, nicely ironed linens, beautiful towels with soaps, lotions, the bathrooms are sparkling clean, trays to put our wet shoes on, refrigerated waters, sewing kits, windows that opened to beautiful views, roomy closets, I could go on and on. In the morning they had your personalized, made to order, delicious breakfast ready for you upon arrival to the lovely, airy breakfast room. Both hosts are very warm and welcoming, Andrew is full of wonderful suggestions and very helpful while Anne is busy preparing the breakfast, really lovely. The two hosts are extremely hard working, they are world travelers so they know what is appreciated and it shows in their perfect hospitality and accommodations. On our 3 week trip Badger Woods was by far our loveliest of guest houses. We are so glad we stayed a couple of nights. It was so clean and comfortable that we were able to really rest and catch up. Also, Keswick is a charming little city with great restaurants in the Lake District, pretty lakes that you can walk around amongst the sheep. Highly recommend a couple nights in Badger Woods. Thank you Andrew and Anne. I would give you more stars if possible.
Cozy B&b withing walkable distance from Keswick city centre…read more I have stayed in a single room with shared bathroom - the room itself is quite small, however, all you might need is there. There are two bathrooms, one of them has bath/shower. Which should be ok, unless you have some inconsiderate guests who treat it as their own bathroom and sit there for ages. It's not bnb's fault, but something to be aware of! Cooked breakfast has a few items including porridge and fry-up options.
Of all the B&Bs we visited in our English holiday, Craglands was the most warm and personal. The…read morehosts Mark & Pauline were extremely helpful and gracious our entire stay. Their breakfast was delicious and filling (as Pauline said, "if you go hungry it's not our fault!") and we were impressed by the homemade bread Both owners took every opportunity to recommend good eating places nearby (all hits) as well as how to track down some sticky toffee pudding Their knowledge of the area came into play when they gave us advice on some good hiking areas and picture spots. They provided laminated maps and carefully went through the driving routes with us. Beautiful country around here but a worthy B&B up to the challenge

She recommended a really good restaurant for dinner our first night there. The breakfast that was included in the price was tasty too. Overall we liked staying in Keswick to tour the Lake District. And I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Thornleigh again if we ever have the chance to return to that part of England.

The rooms / bathrooms are absolutely spotless and very nicely decorated - we stayed in the superior room which also has a flat screen tv and dvd player for those who just want to chill out after a tiring day walking the local hills. You have a great selection for breakfast, including the 'full English' which was lovely and very filling - using local produce. You can also opt for the continental - cereal, fruit, croissants etc. Helen will also make you a packed lunch with a flask of tea if you ask her the night before.

This is my first time staying in a B&B, so I did not really know what to expect…read more Advantages: Clean room and bathroom. Close to town. Tiny private bathroom with shower Disadvantages: -Old furniture. -dovets were old and ugly so was the carpet. -Very hard and old pillows and uncomfortable Noisy bed. -The bathroom only had liquid hand soap that was half used. -The floor was so noisy and wall paperthin so we had to tiptoe and wisper all the time. -You are not allowed to bring food into your room or enter with your walking boots so we had to take our shoes off and leave them in the entrance. The steps of the stairs are so small and carpeted which caused me to slip and fall from the stairs because I was wearing only socks giving me a huge bruise and major back pain. -Breakfast is served from 8-9 only. -Cups were never changed. -Check out is at 10 am. -when I booked it stated that luggage storage is available so after I checked out I asked the owner ( Viera) were I can keep my luggage until 12pm and she said to leave it in the living room but I came back at 3:30 pm -after a walk in whinlatter forrest where there was no phone reception-to pick it up there was no one there to answer the door bell so I called the owner at the cellphone written on the door and when I told her I am back to pick up my luggage she started yelling and saying I am late and I was supposed to call her to tell her I was coming late and that she is not home and I asked her if there is anyone else who could open the door for me because my taxi is here and I have to be at the train station she first answered " no I am out and it's not my problem" then said she will send someone to open the door for me, 5 minutes later one of the neighbors opened the door for me, why did she have to yell and be so rude if this problem can be easily solved? And why is this business run by 1 person only? HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
