Search for the clues, figure out the codes and soon you will find the key to freedom. If you haven't tried I recommend you try and if you want more of a challenge try the contagion room. Guaranteed fun! I hope they develop more seasonal or special limited feature rooms. As once you've done the classic and contagion you know how to solve the clues or you can join another group of friends and look like a genius. "Been here before you say? Never, I'm just that smart." Hehe!

I'm also fiercely competitive and was a little bit worried about Briony-Hulk paying Yelpers a visit when we did this a few months back - thankfully, I managed to keep my Hulk under control and work as a team member well enough to get a 33 minute escape time from one of the classic rooms. YAH. Last night we headed back for a UYE organised by the awesome Harry L to do Contagion. This is more of a themed room where you have to find the cure to the plague (or something) within 60 minutes of getting into the room, or you'll catch the plague and die. It's £66 and you can have up to 6 people. Liam talked us through how it all works even though there was just the one newbie, the briefing is fun and informative so you don't need to worry about getting bored. If you need to go to the loo you'll need to head up to the first floor of Baltic Chambers which is one of my few criticisms of this place, it'd be nice if they were closer by! You then get locked in the room (although if you really do freak out about being locked in, they can let you out). The guys from Escape Glasgow are watching you on CCTV so that if you get stuck on a puzzle, they'll put a hint on the TV in the room. This proves to be SUPER helpful as sometimes you will just get stuck and have no idea what to do. I won't give the puzzles away for the room as that would spoil the fun, but it is SUCH a laugh and so much fun. I love that when you're there with 5 other people, each person brings something useful to the team and you will all end up solving puzzles. I think it would be near impossible to do alone. Contagion is a really fun room and I think I preferred the puzzles in this room to the classic. You don't need to have any special knowledge to do them, you just need to be observant and think imaginatively. I love that when you escape the room, the guys seem properly chuffed for you and they'll talk to you about the bits you got stuck on. They are looking at re-doing one of the classic rooms so hopefully we'll head back when that gets changed!

David and Linda (I hope I got the names right) welcomed us and went through a few rules with us, then set us up in the Zombie experience room. We tore apart the room looking for clues and eventually got on our way and even managed to escape the room before the time ran out and he zombie could get us. A whole pile of fun and a totally different way to spend an evening. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for something slightly different to do then this is a must!…read more I went here a few months ago for a work team building event. There was 13 of us in total and while they prepped the rooms we were to split ourselves into 2 teams; 6 or less for the Zombie Quarantine and 10 or less for the Bank Heist. I opted for the zombie room, would I live (pun intended!) to regret that!? The premise for all rooms is simple - work together, solve the clues, find the key and escape within the hour, or get locked in, ahhhhhhhh! So obviously I don't want to give too much away and spoil the fun...but what I will say about the zombie room is that yes, the zombie is REAL, and it is a small room with no windows, so it's not for the faint hearted! We may also have been blindfolded upon entering the room... Clock ticking we managed to solve the riddles and escape the zombie in 40m38s, while the other team escaped the bank heist with only 4s to spare, talk about close shave! Rooms are priced per room, not per person, so the more folk you can club together, the cheaper it becomes. I would definitely recommend booking up, from stag nights to birthdays, work events or just because, it's great fun from start to finish. And for post-escape refreshments, you can do like us and celebrate round the corner in Hootenanny's, just an idea...

Once you get there, you're pretty much immediately put into the challenge and left with your one hour timer. Unlike many of the other puzzle games, this one is actually over several rooms which allows for a wider variety of puzzles. Our group did have one puzzle that clearly didn't work as well as planned, and another that we managed to skip by accident, but overall the experience was fun and the location will work out some of the kinks. There were a wide variety of types of puzzles for different types of players. I'd say I'd happily go back but that doesn't work with these types of places. I'll instead strongly recommend people who likes these sorts of games try it. It's more than worth the price of admission.

It was great fun trying to suss out how everything worked, finding clues and trying to work out what to do next,. Some of the puzzles are really clever.. Some are easier than others and some are tricky.. But don't worry if you are struggling or a bit puzzled walkie talkie guy will give you a wee clue here and there.. I once also saw a Kula World playstation game here, which is extremely rare and sells on Ebay for £70. The premise of this game is to bounce a beach ball around mazes whilst eating fruit to give you extra lives, it's amazing. I also managed to get Animal Crossing DS and both Professor Layton games before they were released in the UK. This game shop i also great for presents for boyfriends and male relatives. Including the much sought after Demon Souls which my boyfriend informs me is geek chic and is very hard to find in any other games shop in Glasgow. My favourite purchase from here has to be my Animal Crossing Guidebook where you tick off all the residents that have visited your village as well as all the wares you've managed to collect. I ran up way too many hours on this game and probably spent more time socialising with my animal friends than my actual real life friends, but it's pretty addictive. My favourite residents were Octavian the octopus, Hopper the penguin and Peanut the Squirrel.

I've always had a soft spot for them since Christmas 2007 when after searching round town for a Nintendo DS, this place was the only one to not only have them in stock, but a red and black version unavailable in the UK at that. They also do a swap system, where you pay £5 to swap an unwanted game for another pre-owned one from the shelf. It can be a bit of a lottery as good titles get snapped up quick but if you're lucky you can get a great deal. If you're the type who is only likely to come here for a Nintendo Wii game involving ponies or a dance mat, then you'll probably be treated with mild contempt, but if like me, you're after something obscure and in utterly indecipherable Japanese, you'll be welcomed with open arms. Great little shop.
