This school is incredible!! The teachers and staff are so caring and wonderful. They truly loved my…read moredaughter and cared for her like family. My daughter learned so much during her time here. Each week I was amazed at what was being taught in pre-k on top of the normal curriculum: chess tournaments, space week, music, animals and their habitats, etc. It was pretty amazing to have my 4yr old come home one day and tell me an elephant is an herbivore because "they only eat vegetables". We were in Topeka only temporarily and winded up extending our stay solely so that our daughter could finish pre-k and summer camp here. It was such a blessing to have found this school and are so thankful for the time our daughter was a student here. Thank you for all you guys do each and every day. We will miss y'all so much!

When I moved to Lawrence to go back to school, as a single father I needed a place to send my 5…read moreyear old son while I was at work or in class. I looked at a number of different options around town and La Petite was the standout. Practically speaking, they are very close to where I live, and more importantly, they bus the children to and from school (even the half day kindergartners), which meant I didn't have to interrupt my work/school day to do that. I simply drop him off in the morning and pick him up on the way home in the evening. Obviously more goes into a decision like that than just practical concerns though. When I toured the facility, they showed me the areas for the children of different ages, showed me the workstations and centers within those areas, explained their curriculum, and showed how they encourage many productive and educational types of recreation. Most impressive to me though was the genuine enthusiasm I sensed from the staff for the children they are entrusted with. Now nearly a year later I can say without reserve that I am sure I made the right decision. The staff there are very friendly and always keep me informed about everything that's going on. My son loves it there, and has made lots of friends. Coming into a new city where I knew absolutely no one and had approximately a week to get things set up, my biggest concern was who would be looking after my son and how he would be spending his time. Le Petite gives me peace of mind. I know he's in good hands, and that allows me to focus on getting my education.

We recently had my 3yr old grandson enrolled here and we had a horrible experience, by the 2nd week…read moreI was looking for other daycares and we had him pulled out of the 6th st La Petite by his 6th week. It is being poorly ran, the director and assistant director act clueless and the people they are hiring are unqualified to be around kids. I was unclear if some of the teachers even like kids with how poorly they treat them. My grandson was not properly integrated into the daycare on his first couple weeks, they ignored him while he was scared and new and balling his eyes out. There is no kind of nurturing that is provided from the teachers. Some of the teachers are cold and mean to the kids. The kids are unsupervised at times and climb the walls and stand on bookshelves, things that could lead to injuries. They also hit each other while the teachers pay no mind. The food offerings are gross and no effort is put into the food-at all. He would have poopy diapers when we would pick him up. They will leave your kid staring at the wall for over 2 hrs at nap time and give them no attention at all. They have live video and it made my stomach turn to watch how poorly he was being cared for, hence why I removed him as quickly as possible. I voiced my concerns and made it clear I was angry and unhappy with their care and Sydney (the director) never attempted to address any of it or even acknowledge it. Do not leave your child here. All you have to do is watch the live video feed and in one day, you'll be appalled at how this place is operating. I honestly don't know how they have any clients at this point. We found an amazing daycare since then and now we can have peace of mind our little guy is getting his needs met while in daycare. Corporate needs to get involved and do something about the 6th St La Petite.

All of the teachers and staff members of LMS had been always so pleasant and upbeat. They created a really positive, enriched learning environment for the kids. They took such wonderful care of our son and truly had a passion for what they do. The curriculum was very carefully considered and varied week-to-week. I also have to give a shout-out to Ms. Amanda and Ms. Sophie in the Hummingbird room. They helped me through some of his more difficult times with toilet training and drop-off anxiety, as well as the 'terrible two' stages. Our son had been learning by leaps and bounds thanks to his awesome teachers! Furthermore, the managerial staff of LMS, Ms. Purviz and Ms. Sonja, helped ease my mind and were always there to give advice when I needed it. I always felt very comfortable talking to them about anything that comes to mind, and they are attentive to our feedback as well. I highly recommend LMS!
