You would be surprised at the beauty within as you step in from the humble exterior. The Lake Charles Cathedral may be smaller than other cathedrals in the larger cities, but its elegance and decor still do not pale in comparison. Inside the building, the walls are flanked by multiple marvelous stained glass windows, each depicting a scene of Mary's life along with paintings of the Passion. In front are three magnificent altars and in the back is a majestic set of organ. If you are visiting Lake Charles, take less than an hour to visit this beautiful masterpiece!

I decided to go to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lake Charles Louisiana on Opelousas Street…read morewhich is my church that I've always going to my whole life I hadn't been to midnight mass in a long time it's a matter of fact I hadn't been to mass for a while just neglect but I'm getting on the road to getting back in the truck like it was before the church is beautiful the choir is awesome I think we have the best Christmas and Thanksgiving masses ever we get people from other congregation with in the Catholic faith and they come and they play different instruments such as the tuba the flute the harp and it is just absolutely beautiful the church is immaculate our priest father Wayne lebleu is awesome he has got to be one of the best priest that we I'll congregation is fairly big it is majority African-American church on we do have a some Caucasian people they do it and our service and of course they are always welcome we're all one fate I just love going to Immaculate Heart Church it makes me feel so good inside sometimes the music is just so awesome it's not the traditional catholic music in a church is more like Catholic Baptist music with a Twist and our choir director is so good she is great sometimes I go just to listen to the music and to relax and just get things off my mind so if you're ever in Lake Charles please feel free to come out and visit Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Opelousas Street I guarantee you will have the best time ever
