I've never been to a rink where they didn't have one or more staff members skating on the rink to ensure safety and enforce rules. They didn't have any staff members anywhere near the rink. And they needed them! I hope they have good insurance! (though they had us sign a waiver before entering, which is the only time I've experienced that at a rink.) It wasn't crowded on the Sunday afternoon that we went, but it was really hard to skate. One kid going the wrong way around the rink, kids and *adults* cutting across the rink instead of going in an oval. One young teen stealing the skate assist device from his younger siblings and then zig-zagging across the rink while they tried to chase him to get it back. One guy doing his dance moves across the path of traffic - dude, go in the middle or a corner! One man standing in the path of traffic doing things on his phone. And then the usual of kids cutting across. The rink also doesn't have a wall around it, which means at any moment someone might decide to cut across as they enter or exit the rink. I'm a good skater, but multiple times I had to skate off of the rink to avoid crashing into someone behaving badly. It made it so not fun. And when people fell down, there was no staff to check they were ok or help them up like at other rinks. I would have given it one star, because I really just didn't want to stay (and I often stay for multiple hours at rinks), but there were some good things. The floor was good, and the price wasn't bad. There were plenty of places to sit. Music was decent though loud. There was a separate little rink for beginner skaters. We were there for the second half of an afternoon session and there were no games or couples skate or anything, and I didn't see any way to request your favorite song. I had to try 3 times to get a decent rental skate (first time they gave me the wrong size, second time one skate had a wheel loose), and the laces were messed up still. There are rinks that are more fun.

Luckily they had enough ceiling fans going that you couldn't really take in the smell too much. Aside from the water stains, mold around the ventilation and about 4-5 broken games, you really got to enjoy the ambience of the day old popcorn and stained furniture. I like a retro style place, but that usually involves some level of cleanliness.

I like that the dj booth is easily accessible and you don't have to go through the food court area to get to it if you wanted to request a song. We brought our own helper that we had purchased from Amazon. Nobody said anything when we brought it in and then about 3/4 of the way through our time one of the workers said the manager needed to talk to us about it. He explained that they don't have ins to cover that but would let us use one of theirs while they held onto it. He also said he'll do that for us if we come again. He wasn't sure if the other managers would, but he would if he was there. They've got arcade games, prizes to pick from, lots of storage spots, some to pay for, and lots of spots to sit. One of the two stalls in the women's bathroom was out and the cover was off the toilet paper roll container which led to the roll falling off onto the floor. Not ideal. Still worth a visit if this one is closest out of the three.

This made it very difficult to skate. It wasn't smooth, and if your kid falls they get soaked (then really cold). The kid behind the counter didn't know how to look up my online registration. Because I am not a local, I had to look multiple times to ensure that I chose the correct entry door. I'm sure the locals just know which door to go through. Once inside, the there is a 300-400 sq. Ft. Area that is divided almost in half by a painted metal barrier. This barrier separates the people who are entering from the ones who are leaving. So that once you leave the skating area, you cannot come back. This is exactly what a rollerskating business needs. There must be a way to keep people who have left the building or at least left the skating rink from entering again without having to go through some sort of secure measures. I skated on the Friday afternoon session (1p-4p) during the summer. When I arrived, there were about six other people in the building. So I was quite excited to have basically the entire roller rink to myself. The cashier was quite friendly and very informative. I'm sure she knew I was not local because of the numerous questions that I asked about the building and skating floor. I have recently started rollerskating again. And I like to compare the characteristics of the different rinks that I visit during my travels. The Building is 10,000 sq ft. There is space for the concessions, the skate shop and skate consultations. If I subtract that area from the total, then the skate floor is probably about 9000 to 9500 sq ft. This is a total estimation. The carpet is clean with various shapes in vibrant colors. The wooden floor is painted (I think. It's either painted or it has a sturdy covering over it) white with a completely discernible center area. The center area had large 55-gallon plastic barrels spaced nicely apart. So one could really practice curving around them. There is a concrete wall, which flanks the skating floor, and only allows access to the floor at certain (two) points. This can decrease collisions and accidents by forcing people to be really careful as they enter and leave the floor. I thoroughly enjoyed my skating session.
