Recently we came here with The Great American Crawl for the weekend. The staff and location is amazing. A hidden jewel in the West Virginia backcountry. You can eat in their amazing steakhouse with a full bar or grab a quick bite in their banquet hall. They have tons to do including a full scale offroad park! There is also cabins and lodging onsite. I found this place by accident browsing Facebook. The Summersville WV is known for its outdoor recreation and we spend a lot of time at the lake there. Recently there has been some growth in the restaurant industry in the area and that's. Good thing. However apparently the Ranch has been around for awhile. It's located in the Good Evening Ranch that has horse trails, show arena, cabin rentals and much more. It's really beautiful. The restaurant offers a good verity of choices for appetizers and meals. We ordered some smoked wings and BBq pulled pork for dinner. The portions are huge. It's more than you can eat so get a to go box. I really enjoyed the Smokey flavor on the wings and pulled pork and the wings were crispy so I think they fried them after smoking. That's a good technique. The sauce on both the wings and pork tasted like store bought and had just been poured over straight from the bottle. They would do well to create a homemade sauce or two and incorporate it a little better. The baked beans were not good at all. They tasted like they came straight from a can. The slaw was fantastic. I will visit again and try other items on the menu. Service is great. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently. The inside has a lot of room for seating and is nicely clean. A great hidden diamond in the rough. Prices are quite moderate. Great selection of appetizers, sandwiches & burgers, beef, chicken, pork entrees. When ordering the Beef can be ordered fatty or lean. Came with two sides. Wife had the pulled pork sandwich. So much pork that it can only be eaten with a knife & fork. Unfortunately, not gonna be open on Thanksgiving. 3 of us had dinner. The BBQ BRISKET was great, but the two of us who had Dijon Chicken were disappointed. My food was stone cold.chicken Dijon mashed potatoes and asparagus. The waiter, who was the only waitstaff last night, tried hard. But the coffee pot was broken, the menu on line doesn't match what was available ( no filet) the other steaks too huge. My friends baked potato wasn't cooked through. It was still hard. this place isn't ready for prime time, period. Take out for the BBQ WOULDBE RELIABLE. NOTHING ELSE IS WORTH THE EFFORT.
