Long overdue review. Found the QC Guys via Yelp Quote 2 years ago. Ryan got back to me quickly and quoted prices/options via the Yelp app. I had a few other questions so Ryan called me, talked a bit and scheduled an install. Company is friendly, knowledgeable and up front with their pricing. We decided to go with the QC Steath Pro 7.0x model for its energy efficiency and sqft of hour house. Staff showed up on time and gave us a run down on the install. They were clean and efficient. After install, they gave us a tutorial on how to us the fan and windows to open to get nice airflow through our whole house. Are you standing in your house a night and say "I'm going to sleep outside" because it's so cool out there? Look no further. This system will bring that cool air into your home within minutes. As always this company is amazing to work with. We purchased the whole house fan along with the attic fan that works with a phone app. My phone stopped working so I got a new one. Now that it was getting hot I went on the app to lower the temperature so it would come on. That is when I realized that I was having problems getting the unit to pair with my phone. I gave them a call to see if they could help me out and as alway they were so accommodating they offered to send someone out to help me. As you know it is hard to find any company that actually shows up or is on time. That being said they are so prompt and quick it a pleasure working with them. We live in the IE and having a whole house fan is a necessity. We bought our home with a direct drive ceiling mounted fan (the kind you buy at a big box hardware store). We enjoyed the fresh air the fan provided BUT the fan sounded like a hovering helicopter. The quiet cool guys gave me a price and I then made the appointment for the installation of the fan. Installation was fast, I expected a half day installation. The old fan and the quiet cool fan was up and running in a little more than an hour. With the exception of the drywall repair, the old fan grill was twice the size. The new fan lives up to its name "Quiet Cool". We are now able to converse in the immediate area of the fan AND hear each other. Being we had it installed in the "off" season, we got a rebate/discount on our installation. The day after the install we ran the fan during the night, something we never did with the old fan. And it got really cool at night. We are very satisfied! In fact we're referring them to family members. BONUS! Their drywall repair guy, Justen. He's a rockstar dry waller. I'd rate him a six (that's right 6 star) service. After he patched the grill area, next to the quiet cool grill, you can hardly see/notice the repair work done by him. And he matched the drywall texture without any paint, he used mud/patch compound! We don't go into the attic and the vent from the fan was hard to get to, and placed where we could not see it, but recently we had to get back there and to our horror, the vent of all the sucked in air from the whole house, is deposited into our attic and not to an attic vent, like the picture in Quietcool's advertisement.. Check out the pics. CHECK THE INSTALLERS and MAKE SURE IF YOU CANNOT SEE WHERE THE THE AIR VENT IS RELEASING THE SUCKED IN AIR FROM THE WHOLE HOUSE, that you get camera phone video at least and make sure it is sucking the air and it is released outside and not back into your attic! ! We just purchased our first home in July and getting a whole house fan installed was one of the top projects on my list. Initially we had a little hiccup with scheduling, but Drew, Lyle and the team made it right. We just had the Stealth 4.8x installed yesterday which also included the RF wireless remote. Used them because they were recommended by a neighbor. These guys are great. They gave me a good quote very quickly. They were able to schedule installation less than a week out. I was expecting much longer during the summer. They came out right on time. The crew of 3 was able to install the fan in about 30 minutes. Incredible! Installation was clean, no problems. I'm not yet sure of the effectiveness of the system yet because it's been so warm at night and super hot during the day. I have turned it on for a couple of hours first thing in the morning. It really sucks (in a good way)! I love the breeze that it brings in. Temp is lowered a few degrees but quickly goes back up. I had 2 attic QC fans installed in less than 1 hour by their technician. The price quoted seemed to align pretty well with the purchase price list online for just the product(s) plus labor. Since I had 2 installed, there was a reduced price for the 2nd fan install. Hopefully, I will see a temp difference by next summer between my garage and my second floor! Fast, efficient installation and reasonably priced too. I was tired of turning on our AC even when it was cool outside only because open windows didn't do much cooling. After the installation a few weeks ago we already used it a few times. On a hot day we'd run it in the morning to get the temperature in the 60's - 70's degrees which would be enough to avoid AC for most of the day. Charlie and Travis just left a couple minutes ago after installing a QuietCool fan in our house and I have to admit... IT'S AWESOME!!! Called them up on Monday and they were out here on Thursday. He was able to get some basic info from me and gave me a quote over the phone. He said they would come out to make sure my house was suitable for the fan and if so they could install it right then. Charlie and Travis were right on time, took a quick look in my attic and started the install immediately as promised. It took about an hour and a half (about 30 minutes longer than usual) but that's because I have a 1950's house that is all plaster inside so it took a little extra time to get all the holes cut properly. Just an update, 2 years later, my whole house fan is going strong.. A whole house fan is like tearing the roof off of your house, and letting all of the hot air out.... This last week, the mid day temps were in the 90's.. I was able to run the fan early in the morning, filling my house and attic with cool early morning air. Then I close up my house, and it keeps it cool through the heat of the day... My electric bill has gone down over the years as I use a lot less AC during the heat of the summer... read more
