    Smash burger with seasoned fries
    Barbara B.

A beautiful Fall day to grab an outside table and people watch while we waited for our food. The place was busy inside and out as the word must be out that this place has great food. Sylvan, our friendly and delightful waiter, managed to keep everyone happy. My husband and I both had smash burgers. He opted for a double, but the single was more than enough for me. Very yummy as it was topped with pickles, lettuce, tomato and cheese. We each got a side for $3 extra. The fried pickles were so plentiful I am taking most home. We stuck with water, but the people around us all seemed to be enjoying fun looking alcoholic beverages including a few slushie delights. This was a great stop after dropping friends at Logan

The best local bar in East Boston! I just visited Boston for the first time and we stayed in Eastie. We tried out several of the other bars and restaurants around and they were just ok, but The Quiet Few was our favorite by far! Everyone was friendly, the drinks were flowing, and the music was blasting! Free koozies given out to us with our drinks which we loved! We did not try the food but everything that came out looked and smelled great. Yes, it's a bit small and you may need to wait outside for just a bit if they are over capacity but it's worth it. To be honest, I'm glad that they monitor the capacity because otherwise it would be too jam packed! We ended up coming back every night that we were in town because it was a blast! Whoever Britney C. is that gave them a 1 star review has a stick up her you-know-what, and has only ever given 1 star ratings in her whole 3 review history. Clearly a Karen - ignore her.

One of the most fun bars I have ever been to. Full disclosure , this is a very small bar expect to stand. Order drinks at the bar. The entire pickle shot thing was brand new to me and I loved doing a whiskey shot followed by a pickle juice shot. You must give it a try. Delicious food options. Your bar and food tap can get pretty pricey since you'll try so many different things. Total neighborhood spot. Has a marvelous time with very friendly bartenders.

What a cool bar! My friends told me about this place while we were in eastie and I'm so glad they did. The menu has a ton of options from small bites to good portions. The fries and fries pickles are my favorite. I orders a Mexican salad once and it was tasty. The bar has typical options for drinks and pickle back shots if you're interested. The service is always great. Bring your friends or come on a date you won't regret it.

Might be my favorite bar and restaurant in Boston. Everything on the menu is delicious and they frequently change up menu items which keeps you coming back.

The Quiet Few doesn't miss! Went for "wurst Wednesday" and had one of the most creative and delicious sandwiches. Definitely stop by! This is a must must try!!

4.5!!! We came here on Trivia night (Mondays) with some friends and it was so much fun! The bar space isn't too big so the night we went it was pretty crowded but we still made it work! The first 20mins we were standing around trying wait for a table to open up and honestly since it's a small space it did feel like it was hard to move around. But we were able to order some food with the bartender (they don't have waiters come to your table, super casual you order your drinks/food at the bar and they will drop off your food) it was a little bit chaotic since it was busy on the night we went. We got the Nashville fried hot chicken sandwich and it was soo good!!! Very juicy, flavorful and crunchy! Trivia questions were tough but it was a super fun activity with friends! The loaded fries/poutine was just okay, good but most likely would not get again (nothing super special) I would come back again with friends for some more trivia and try out some of their other foods!

Favorite Eastie bar! Your classic dive bar in the BEST way possible! Our go-to order is the Smash burger or Hell Yeah burger, a bucket of waffle fries, and a pitcher on Narragansett. It's very casual and welcoming vibe. Service is friendly and attentive. They have outdoor seating and a shuffle board in the back. And they have trivia on Monday's at 8pm and a Whiskey of the Week! Also, very sweet story on where they get their name.

Been living in Eastie the past year and finally got around to trying this place for a casual night out. Wish I tried it sooner because I'd definitely be a regular! The vibe in here is amazing. You choose your own seating, order your food and drinks at the bar, and it'll be brought to your table. This is actually a very interesting way of service because there's never any pressure to rush ordering or eating without that part of service at the table. There are more drinks on the menu than food and the food was wow, delicious! The fried chicken burger was perfectly cooked, perfectly crispy, coating was not too thick. The burger was also super tasty with a perfectly cooked egg on top. Note the burgers do not come with sides so we added a side of waffle fries. Buffalo cauliflower was also great and comes with blue cheese and ranch dips. Yum yum and yum! For indoor dining they require proof of vaccination (showing a picture of the vaccination card + ID to match name and date of birth). There are also some outdoor patio tables.

All I can say is WOW! Burgers dogs and frito pies were insane!! Stellar services, cold beers what more could you ask for?? NOTHING!! Will be back next time and every time i am in Boston!!

First visit, Monday 4/20/26…read more Visiting Boston on a work trip, I had no idea the Marathon was today! Met 4 colleagues at The Red Fox for dinner, a recommendation from a friend of my colleague. Tough to find initially and very unsuspecting upon arrival. As you enter the front door (think like walking into a foyer of a small apartment building) you go down a flight of stairs into the restaurant. Then wow, this place is awesome! Small entry way into the restaurant with a hostess immediately greeting you. The bar is your first view of the place and it was packed. I'd describe it as dimly light, great atmosphere and ambience, almost a speakeasy feel. I'd recommend a reservation. The hostess walked us to our table, walking along the bar line with small 2-4 top tables to our left, we then turned left into the main dining room. 5 of us and we were seated at a horseshoe style table, plenty of room for up to 6 adults. Service was instant, she was friendly and very knowledgeable. We ordered cocktails and a couple apps. The drinks arrived along with bread service. They added small side plates with oils and olives, a nice touch. The cocktails were fantastic as was the homemade bread. A unique twist with my cocktail (kettle one & soda), was the single ice cube that was a long rectangle cube that was so clear you couldn't see it! The cubes length was the same as the tall glass it was served in and didn't melt. For dinner I listened to our server who recommended the Chicken Parmigiana with a chefs twist using a vodka infused sauce, this dish was amazing! My colleagues all shared the same feelings that this meal was spectacular. Highly recommend The Red Fox!

Their martinis are always spot on. The Parmesan martini is shockingly good, especially as someone who doesn't like dirty Martinis. The spinach and ricotta appetizer with the sage butter is so good. Arancini was also good. Both times have had the vodka pasta, and the orrechiete. The first time the orrechiete was very al dente, so just asked to cook a little more during my second visit and it was perfect. Spaghetti al limone was a nice complement to the other two!

For two straight years, my top-tier chum who…read moreliterally went to the school of hospitality and I mistakenly thought we could just wing it in the North End prior to Celtics games on the weekends and find a decent place to eat without a reservation. We were burned two times (not egregiously, but where we had to go to mediocre establishments that had seating availability for a reason), but no more. Parla isn't an off-the-charts Italian restaurant, but it was above average and the cocktail situation is excellent. I stumbled across Parla last year when we were looking for dining options, but alas, not in time to secure a reservation. The cocktail menu looked intriguing (particularly their ye olde shrub cocktail mix and match section) and the location seemed convenient. This time around we made dinner reservations about two months in advance, which I'd pretty much recommend for anything in this neighborhood if you have the ability. We came by this past Sunday before the Celtics/Timberwolves (there were multiple patrons wearing jerseys, including us) around 5pm in the rain. The entrance is a little nondescript but ultimately easy enough to spot. It's a pretty intimate interior with limited seating (maybe 10 tables or so?) and only four bar stools at the bar in the back. We were seated by the front window which was nice but again, offered at that time merely an excellent view of early spring weather. The food we had was good, and yet not the selling point - sort of a compliment, sort of not. We split the seared octopus app, which was interesting but ultimately not my favorite way to eat that particular seafood; I'm used to it grilled. We were both a little surprised to see it in salad form and had to refer back to the menu, which did mention one of the other ingredients as arugula (a fair clue). I would recommend they put the word "salad" in the official name of the app though; my guess is we probably opt for something else if we had that additional information. That said, it was fine - I wasn't crazy about the pairing of octopus and balsamic vinegar/arugula, which to me and my chum dominated the palate over the octopus, which should totally be the star of the dish. For my entree, I went with the chicken parm, which was very good - decent portion for sure and I almost finished it despite eating two other meals fairly recently. Interestingly, the best part is the sauce - it's a sweeter sauce that's thick but not chunky. Really good, and something I'd get again in a pinch. The cocktails are really something. For me, I stumbled a little out of the gate with the shrub section, opting for a mule with strawberry peppercorn. It wasn't bad but for my palate, it felt off - that's a drink I should be getting in July, not a nippy/rainy March evening. On me completely. My chum got the margarita equivalent and liked it enough to order it two more times. But I shifted to a very cool gimmick they had, which I believe was called Dungeon Master (an homage to D&D?), where you rolled a 20-sided die and had to pick whatever cocktail was associated with the specific number, no questions asked. My chum gets a little naughty with gin so couldn't risk it and had to just watch mournfully on the other side of the table as I played twice. Both of my mystery cocktails had gin in it, so...probably the right decision, at least from my perspective. I don't want to provide spoilers and damage the integrity of the game, but the nuanced layers to each drink are exactly why I love mixology/a good cocktail - the only kind of science I truly get behind. (I also liked learning about clouds in 5th grade). Very cool feature and something I'd love to make an annual tradition. Our waitress was great. She initially seemed a little eccentric/ditzy (in a good way), but it was clear that that was a mirage - she was VERY observant and at the end of the meal knew my first name for my specific credit card because earlier she'd noticed my head tilt when someone at another table used it. Really impressive stuff and a huge asset for the restaurant. She also was super knowledgeable about the menu and the cocktails specifically, and it was fun to guess what was in each of my mystery beverages with her after I took a few experimental nips. Very cool, very unique establishment. Glad to finally find a selling point for the North End.
