Great customer service..! checked my tank on Saturday and saw it was very low. Made a couple of calls to their office and owner, but they were closed. I left messages for them and they were able to show up mid day on Monday and fill a 500 gal. tank, before running out. I would recommend them to everyone for quick service and routine propane delivery. read more

we live in an electric only neighborhood and I wanted a gas stove. I had them do the propane tank and line install. The work was done very well, they handled the permit and were very nice and polite. the only issue I had with them was very bad communication. very long times before I got responses to emails, and some other communications issues. seems that they don't talk to each other internally. read more

Excellent! Very professional and quick! My fireplace in my new home , when turned on, would give a loud boom then light up. Of course we called the Propane People. They came out and fixed the problem right away... They have the best propane prices that we could find. We had both tanks filled. It's so nice having a fireplace now. I am very confused by the other reviews. I have used the Propane People for the last four years for the rental of my propane tank and propane delivery. They are always courteous, caring and fast. We have also seen this company to be rude and unprofessional. They don't show when they say they will and had our tank go empty and asked they check it and fill it. They said it he'd no leaks and filled it for over 400$ they it all leaked out again then asked for a full tank and line check that try charged us 150$ for and the problem was the tank was bad and leaking. They picked it up and have not responded to calls or replace it. I spy not do business with them. read more

RUDE* UNPROFESSIONAL*UNHELPFUL* DID I MENTION RUDE?* We experienced a situation where we smelled propane all throughout the house. We called the Propane People to come out investigate where a leak could possibly be. After threatening this company (who did not want of come out in the first place) we were made to wait until the "technicians" finished smoking their cigarettes before they even came to the door. They made us turn off all the valves and never explained what measures they would take to find the leak. Their advanced,technological way to find a leak is a spray bottle of soapy water, which the "technician" only sprayed here and there. He only checked the stove at the shut off valve and the shut off valve at the propane tank. He didn't bother to check our propane dryer, the BBQ or all three fireplaces. Their final answer was to tell us we have a leak "somewhere" at which time they removed the regulator from the tank leaving us with no gas, and no way to find where the leak was coming from. They charged $150.00 for soapy water and no answers, or even a number of someone to call who may be able to help us out. If this wasn't a bad enough experience, try calling the Company and speaking with the office person. She is Argumentative, 100% Rude, and Unprofessional. We have waited two days for the return of the regulator and when we called about an approximate time to expect the "technicians",because they should have been here 4 hours ago, she proceeded to tell my spouse, and I quote: "It's not my problem". We will be discontinuing our service and going with a propane company who knows how to handle questions and concerns, who cares about their own products as well as their customers health and safety. These guys are the most unprofessional people I have ever come in contact with! The owner Doug talked to my mother-in-law, a single woman in her sixties. She asked him a simple question regarding her propane system and he cussed her out and made her cry. This guy is a poor excuse for a human being. read more

RUDE. UNPROFESSIONAL. Unbelievable! They filled my tank and placed a regulator. We then smelled propane gas along the front of the house. We called at 7PM to the answering service and Doug began an abusive tirade that it was my responsibility to learn how to turn off the propane tank. He noted he couldn't have anyone there for 3-4 hours. Eventually I did turn off the tank and the smell went away. He said he would come out personally. He did not come, but sent some employees. They said there was no leak and blamed it on the sewer. Of note, I believe they tightened the regulator and fixed the leak since the smell of propane has not returned. He then wanted to charge me for this presumed tightening of their regulator install to fix their gas leak! Furthermore, when I called back to pay, a RUDE lady answered the phone and could not tell me how much I owed for this "service". Therefore I would have to wait and speak with DOUG again! read more

I wish there was a lower rating than 1... I will never use these people again. If you have not noticed the theme of their customer service being rude and unprofessional, you'd have to be blind. Take your business somewhere else where they will treat you with respect. I had them come out and replace my propane tanks during the summer so they were ready to go for the season. I turned on my system for the first time and immediately smelled gas coming from one of the tanks. I called to try and get someone out to fix it and inquired about replacing the regulator at the same time. They wanted $125 for labor and over $100 for the regulator which is over priced for less than 30 minutes of work when they were already going to be at my house fixing the leaking tank. When I suggested his price was too high, that's when the fun began. He IMMEDIATELY became condescending, insulting and out right RUDE. He had the gall to ask what kind of work I do, insulted it and then said I wouldn't understand his pricing because I'm not an entrepreneur like him. After he made me listen to him tell me how expensive his insurance, labor, trucks and other costs were, I tried to interject and just request him fix the leaking tank they installed. He would not even let me get in a word, insulted me again and hung up. CONSUMERS BEWARE - Unless you like being treated like crap, take your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

I have not met with/spoken with Doug, but am entering a review to set the record straight (I doubt VERY much that he is as awful as others have stated-- sorry but "poor excuse for a human being" is over the top and way out of line and comes close to violating Yelp's guidelines re. "hate speech" in my opinion). This company does care. And I have been using them since 1989 or 1990 to fill my 250 gal. propane tank. They have always shown up on time, charged competitive rates, and have always been professional. The lady with whom I spoke today was extremely kind to me. This company is not in the propane leak detection business as their primary business objective, but will offer some guidance/help. Of course they are careful when someone wants them to find the source of a leak that is leaving the smell of propane "all throughout the house." Of course they do not wish to take on liability for not pinpointing the source of a leak precisely. Of course they need to ask a few questions about a customer's system before dispatching a truck to refill one or more tanks. I like Yelp, but I have noticed that in many cases involving the trades or the service industry, reviewers who are the most motivated to post reviews often post negative ones. A stellar restaurant or hotel might attract positive reviewers who wish to share their positive experience with unknown fellow diners or hotel patrons, but potential reviewers rarely post positive (or even neutral) reviews about a company that provides a service once every year or two, such as propane vendors. I understand that Yelp posts the reviews that they get, with little or no editorial discretion. I do wish that reviewers would be fair about their reviews, and, moreover, that those who obtain infrequent service from companies that do a good job would post reviews reflecting their satisfaction, instead of using Yelp only to vent when less-than-satisfactory service is delivered. read more

I spoke to the owner regarding a problem with my mother's propane connection. he informed me it wasn't his problem and he was too busy to be bothered with fireplace connections (although he was the one to connect the tank and light the pilot) I then asked for a service call and he replied that he didnt have time to come out to service the tank. I was at a loss of words and asked him to just come remove the tank, as he was unable to provide customer service... he began to yell, attack my profession, and refused to remove the tank. He demanded I leave a key to the home for him to come while she was away at work. I told him I was willing to setup an appt any day after 4pm due to work. He said he was never available at that time. When I told him I was uncomfortable leaving a key, he began to yell and I finally had to hang up the phone. The entire experience was extremely unsettling and I would NEVER recommend their service to ANYONE! read more
