This place usually has a very nice selection of formal gowns for the local dances along with the accessories you would need...hair pieces, shoes, bags, gloves. The staff have always been attentive and helpful...even went down to dig for dresses that just came in to try and find us what we were after. I have purchased several of my daughter's formals from them and have been satisfied that she was getting quality and that there would be nobody else at the dance in her dress. You should expect to pay full price for a name brand gown. read more

I have bought my prom dress from the prom shop for the last two years. I absolutely love the prom shop and the great selection of dresses they have. I have been to almost every store that sells prom dresses in Minnesota and the Prom Shop is by FAR my favorite. They have the biggest selection and the best staff. I have to admit Colleen was doing the best she could given how busy they were. And she was helpful. My daughter does love her dress and I can't imagine her in any other one. Very frustrating interactions with this store and their policies. My daughter went with a friend to look at dresses without a parent present. She felt very strongly encouraged to put a dres on lay a way. Her understanding of their policies, is that if she didn't choose to get a dress there she would have her downpayment in credit to use in the store. She felt safe in putting money down. So she did. I called just a week later to discuss this with the store, as I was upset this could occur. Well we found out her understanding was incorrect, we are either out the $100 or need to spend the value of the dress she put on hold. Seriously!! Yes their policies are posted- however not clearly explained to my daughter. I feel this type of business practice is out of line. Teenage girls on their own in the store, pressure that they might loose the dress, reassured by staff they would still have the store credit. 'You won't be out the money, you could get your shoes and jewelry' as stated by a store employee. I realize they have policies and need to have them in place. However feel it was not clearly explained in our situation, I feel she was taken advantage of the employee misled her. I do not recommend this store. read more

Make sure to look around for pricing. Bought a Jovani prom dress for our daughter last weekend here. Traveled to Shaumburg for volleyball this weekend and found the same dress (in 4 colors not 2) for $140 less!! I understand mark up but that's a little excessive. read more
