If you value quiet or peace at any level DO NOT MOVE TO KEVA FLATS…read more I have lived at Keva Flats since May 2019. It has been an absolutely miserable experience. When reading my review, please keep in mind that these buildings are BRAND NEW. They are less than 2 years old, and are advertised as "Luxury Apartments". Also note that during my tour of the apartment, I specifically asked how good the soundproofing was, and was explicitly told it was "very good". There are a few smaller positive things or features about the apartments, but there are also dozens of smaller bad things. By far the most egregious issue is the complete and utter lack of anything resembling sound dampening or sound proofing. Within our apartment, our walls are so thin that I can have a conversation at normal speaking volume to another roommate through the walls with the doors closed. We can hear every footfall our upstairs neighbors make, as well as anyone walking in the hallway. We can hear neighbors toilets flush. We can hear the trash compactor on the ground floor below us. We have talked with over a dozen different neighbors, and all that have someone living above them have confirmed that this is the case. The windows are so poorly constructed or designed that you can hear peoples conversations as they walk by on the sidewalk outside - we are on the second floor. Keva also has some sort of maintenance crew utilizing power tools outside at least 3-4 days per week, typically beginning their work between 7-8AM. As you can imagine, the lack of sound reduction means that no matter what your schedule is you can be absolutely certain that you will be awake whenever their construction or maintenance crews decide you will be. This doesn't even touch on the other issues. The paint is so cheap that if you look at it funny it scuffs. The water pressure is so low I'm surprised it can move through the pipes. You are NOT given a key, and have to use a digital system called Latch, which can be kind of unreliable. The elevator has been broken at least 4 times since we've lived here. The wiring in one of our bedrooms was done so bad that the electrician who came to resolve it stated that what was done was extremely dangerous. Our dryer was broken upon moving in (this was fixed fairly quickly, to be fair). This is a NO SMOKING community (it's in the lease, this was attractive to me). People smoke on the property all the time, including the maintenance people. There are other issues, but I'll end with this - I've been in contact with Keva via email regarding the sound issues, and they claim they are "100% committed to our satisfaction", yet the only remedy they've offered is for us to break our lease (2x a months rent), OR allow us to relocate within to a different unit for more money. Neither option is reasonable or resolves the issues here. They've stated they could reach out to the upstairs neighbor, but they are simply walking around their apartment. They should not feel bad for existing within their own apartment. In fact, one resident we've spoken to has received multiple noise complaints from someone living below them even though they have not had a single guest over their apartment. The only thing that is "Luxury" about these apartments is the price and some of the amenities. Save yourself some money and sanity, and go live literally anywhere else.

During our tour, the property manager, Morgan, clearly explained that the only upfront costs would be the application fee and a $300 fee upon approval. We specifically double-checked that we planned to move in May and asked if there would be any additional or hidden charges. We were assured that there would be no other fees besides the application fee and the $300 if approved. Based on that information, I went home and completed the application. I was approved almost immediately, and both the $300 fee and the $150 application fee were deducted from my account. However, shortly afterward, I received an email stating that I would now need to pay a full month's rent as a security deposit due to a "conditional fee." No proper explanation was provided. This was extremely surprising, especially since my credit score is excellent and my income is more than five times the base rent. This additional requirement was never disclosed during the tour, despite us directly asking about any extra charges. Feeling misled, I requested a refund as I no longer wished to proceed under these new terms. I was then informed that the application fee would not be refunded. I feel like my money was unfairly taken after being given incomplete information. I strongly advise future applicants to be very careful.

Some things to keep in mind before leasing with Claremont Apartments…read more 1. They won't provide a sample lease to allow you to view what you're signing onto when you lease with them. 2. They are a smoking-allowed community so if that's a problem for you, do keep that in mind. 3. Once you pay the $500 security deposit, you have 72 hours to request a refund on the deposit else they'll insist they're unable to refund it even if they didn't provide you with a copy of the lease after the 72 hours have elapsed. When you try to dispute this, they'll dodge your calls before ultimately denying your appeal. These practices come off as very deceptive and slimy and honestly I'd stay away if I were you.

They deal with a wacky company that charges outrageous nonrefundable fees to get into the…read moreapartments. It would be better for Claremont to just turn down the applicant if they don't want them. Better yet, I am not sure why Claremont can't just ask for a larger security deposit if they feel they need to do so. The office staff is extremely helpful and very quick to answer. I have reached out on numerous occasions and have had answers within an hour time frame. Maintenance is also super quick when requested too. I needed a new washer at one point and it was replaced in under a week. I personally loved the set-up at my apartment - it had a very spacious living room area and I loved the patio size too. It has a neighborhood feel and the location is so close to restaurants and shopping (Target and Giant within walking distance). Would definitely have lived here much longer if I didn't need to move for a new job!

If I still lived there, I would definitely move - they destroyed a very scenic picnic area to squeeze out some more profit. - Horribly dated kitchens. - Rent seems to go up annually. - Management doesn't seem willing to work with people with special circumstances - this was an issue my neighbors and I complained to each other about regularly. The staff is nice enough, they just don't really seem to care. - Maintenance seems to work at all hours of the day (I've heard them next door and above me as early as 6am to as late as 8pm) - very loud and annoying. - Pet fees are charged monthly - for each pet. I don't understand this fee. They need to clean the carpets when you leave if you had a pet in there, whether it was there for 3 months or 3 years makes no difference. Loves dogs and people. Jess M(O.G Jess) has been a friend to me since the very beginning when she moved me in. No matter how upset or angry I can get, Jess's tone and approach is so soothing and reassuring. I'm so glad she is a part of this amazing team, because Busty and I would be missing out. I lived here for almost 3 years, and I had a pretty good experience. This was one of the cheaper…read morecomplexes in the area, so considering that, I think it lived up to the price. The neighborhood was fairly quiet for the most part, and we never had major issues (no pests, mold, huge maintenance issues, etc.). Anytime we had an issue, maintenance handled it right away. There are several amenities within the complex, including a pool, small kids park, (tiny) gym, and a dog park. They are very dog friendly and try to keep waste bags all around the grounds, which is appreciated. The only cons that I had were that laundry is about $2 a wash and $2 a dry, so that can get kind of expensive. Also, the walls are a little thin and we have had some noisy neighbors during our time there, but that can go for any place. And in one of the apartments (we lived in two within 3 years), we did have an issue with the oven (all the appliances are older and on the cheaper side, but again, this is one of the cheaper apartments in the area). One of the burners was was not working and the maintenance guy stated that it could have been dangerous had it not been fixed. So, I recommend requesting for their maintenance team to inspect everything for you before moving in just to be certain. Overall, I would say it wasn't a terrible experience while living there, and if I had to, would probably live there again.
