When you're hungry from walking around Oxford all day, stop at the Plough at 38 for decent pub food and brews. I got the fish & chips (what else?) and a Bitburger. I sat outside in front of the Plough, perfect for people-watching. And there were plenty of things to watch. The fish was a huge fillet, crisp with batter, not too greasy, and the chips were soft but not soggy. The dill tartar sauce and mushy peas were a nice contrast to the fried food - if anything the plate could've used more peas. As I washed it down with a bottle of Bitburger, I happily watched from my outdoor perch, all manner of humanity walk by, satisfied with a full belly. Thumbs up! read more
