I have been wanting to check out The Plot for brunch with some friends and I am so glad we finally did. Everyone at the table was quite impressed with their food. Really cool vegan spot! I ordered the breakfast bowl and I really loved it. It was flavorful, filling, and felt fresh and balanced. It is definitely something I would order again. I also tried one of their sandwiches and it just was not my favorite. It was fine, just not as exciting as the other dishes we had. The meat substitute was quite mushy and had no texture nor much flavor. The mushroom coffee was surprisingly nice. It tasted more like hot chocolate than coffee. The pancakes were delightful and fluffy. We also ordered the french fries with the beet sauce and I really liked that combination. The sauce added something unique and tasty. Overall it was a cute brunch spot and a nice place to catch up with friends. Will definitely be coming back to try out their dinner menu.

I don't do too much vegan food, but The Plot was a pleasant surprise. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I went with the shakshuka and it was pretty good. It was very flavorful and the bread it was served with was also great. My wife got the breakfast bowl while everything tasted good, the flavors didn't seem to mesh very well. The ambiance is pretty casual and you can walk around the garden they pick their vegetables from, which is pretty neat.

Notes from last night's experience: - Plot = Parking Lot. They have one! - Street parking also wasn't too bad. - Artifex Brewing Company is within walking distance. - Green Cheek Brewing Company is within driving distance. - Cocktails are soju-based. - Regular menu has some nice items, but the seasonal tasting menu knocks it out of the park. We should come here four times a year. - Look for specials in December that they throw in when you spend $100 on a gift card. In 2025, it was a free tasting dinner. We are lucky to have The Plot. I don't care what your diet is, you owe it to yourself to check them out.

The Plot is such an awesome vegetarian restaurant. Fun fact it is the sister restaurant to Wrench & Rodent! I've come here a few times and everything has been a standout. My personal favorite has been the VG crunchwrap supreme it is sooooo good! I recently tried the coffee and have been dreaming about it too. They brought out a cute little cake for my birthday which was so sweet. Definitely would recommend this spot for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike!

This was my first time going here. A little spur of the moment as we looked for a local restaurant. The space is very cute and unique. Although that doesn't matter much if the food is over a priced or poor quality. Luckily the food was all fantastic. There wasn't a single item I didn't like, and since I got a preset fixed menu of five courses, I was able to taste a large variety. I even took a nibble from some shared appetizers for the table and my kids food. The kids were not a big fan, but that is kind of to be expected. I suspect that they were also just tired from a long day. I would absolutely go back the next time I am in town. The food was a little bit on the pricier side, but considering the quality of the ingredients and the uniqueness of the meals, it was well worth it. Not a place I would go every day but absolutely perfect for a treat or date night.

I am starting to really like Oceanside. I am not a vegan but love vegan food if it is made right. I am so impressed with this place. The must have... was the fries!!! O...M...Geeeee! Service here is phenomenal. We sat outside and the place was beautiful next to the garden. I recommend this place to anyone. You will not be disappointed!

I didn't know what to expect, going to a sourdough bread making class at one of my personal favorites .... The Plot, Oceanside. I settle in and I am offered a Cocktail or Mocktail. Without hesitation I say: "Cocktail". Same drink only mine has Sake. And I must say, that was the most delicious fruit forward drink I have ever had, with or without alcohol. Always Mindful. Always Special. But of course! It's the Plot. The napkin is garnished with a bitter but edible leaf called nasturtium. They use it in cocktails, salads and as a chimichurri. The leaf is spicy and delicious, and the flower is beautiful as a garnish. Owner Jessica comes over to comment that it matches my dress! And I didn't even know I can eat the leaf! She also says they have just formed a non-profit for the garden project to help fund its evolution and impact, and just received their 501c(3) status. So The Plot continues on their upward path! Food Glorious Food! I order a Fried Chicken Plate and share it with 3 people. And if the fake fried chicken (seitan) isn't delicious enough, the veggie side and cornbread with honey is equally amazing. We go through the process of learning how to make bread. The crew really backs the teacher up. They serve the sourdough focaccia with greens and an amazing pear saturated in delicious flavor, plus a cashew feta with spices on top. So good. So satisfying. As I look around the room, we fill half the restaurant and everyone is smiling and enjoying. If you are interested in knowing how to make sourdough at home, just google it, or use chat. The key is finding the right 'starter'! Each of us leaves with sourdough starter in a ball jar. What a nice touch! My daughter got me a gift certificate. Using it next time for sure! I LOVE The Plot SO much! I previously went to their location in Costa Mesa for dinner, and had a great experience too. I believe Oceanside is their flagship location, and it was truly magical! When you pull up, you'll see a giant mural behind the building that is absolutely beautiful. Then, you'll notice all the fresh herbs and veggies they grow themselves. This is a true farm to table experience. I was really impressed by how large this location is inside as well as on their patio. Plus, I really enjoyed the decor and attention the detail. I ordered the panko crusted eggplant, and the carrotfish tacos. While the tacos were good, the eggplant was out of this world and filled with so much flavor. We finished off our lunch with the banana bread and wow...I want the recipe. The vanilla 'cream' - made with a coconut base was so creamy and delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better lunch. The service was great too. And, I love the fact that they do offer cooking classes, tasting menu nights, and more! I'm hoping they'll do a gardening class one day too. Can't wait to come back soon!

Super excited to write this review and would've felt guilty not to!!! My vegan friend suggested it, even though she has never been here before. I'm usually reluctant to try vegan restaurants because the food normally tend to taste like grass to me. When I saw my meal, I was pleasantly surprised by how appetizing everything looked! Very presentable. The Korean BBQ chicken looked nicely charred but juicy at the same time from the glaze. The portion was generous and the price was very reasonable. After I took one bite, I was in food heaven!! It tasted astonishingly BETTER than meat!!! Like a perfectly cooked chicken without the aftertaste of carcass. Textures were precisely so tender and moist on the inside, firm on the outside. Flavors were well balanced and savory. The salad was also perfect, lightly stir fried and slightly sweet and tangy. I ordered the Sweet & Shroomy coffee, which was creamy without actual dairy in it. Again, it does not taste like vegan!! I told my friend that if I were vegan, I would STALK the chef/chefs and move to wherever they go, LOL!! Everyone there was so friendly, warm, and welcoming. Tastefully decorated and pleasing atmosphere. There's a cute garden in the back. Highly recommend this exceptional establishment, worthy of a perfect 5+ STARS. If I lived next door, I could easily convert to veganism and not miss meat at all!!! FYI, my vegan friend is a non-judgmental animal rights activist. She has never pressured me or made me feel guilty about eating meat, eggs, and dairy.

This place is a gem. Fresh grown herbs, veggies and fruits outside. Literally farm to table. Had the chronic sushi rolls with "spicy tuna & crab" made from lentils and lions mane so good! The eggplant Parmesan was part of summer special a must try. Key lime pie for dessert with a crunch topping was a nice sweet and tart finish. Michelle, our waitress was warm, attentive and knowledgeable. Great chill music and cool vibe with inspiring art & quotes throughout.

We had a party of 15 so I think it would've been more enjoyable, had we came with a smaller party. Service was a bit slow, and there were minor mess ups but nothing that ruined our experience entirely. I think everything on the menu was as accurate as it could be, but friends expressed disappointment that taste wise, notes were off. I really enjoyed the appetizers and the drinks! A lot of menu items were fried and they have two fryers for my celiac friends who were wondering.

We had such a good experience at the costa mesa plot restaurant we wanted to try a different menu but felt the food was a bit off here. While everything was cooked very well, the seasoning just missed. We enjoyed the eggplant but the veggies were ultra salty. The scallops were interesting and broccolini was nice but some other flavors didnt meld together. The street corn was acidic. The kbbq texture was fine but the sauce didnt taste like bbq... seemed more like tamarind or something. Not sure if it was an off night or this is the palate here but definitely not what we were expecting.

FOOD: - hot potatoes: has a pickled radish and some sort of crème sauce that was so good - these were my husband's favorite. - chicken satay: It came with pickled cucumber (think when it's cucumber kimchi, but it wasn't a kimchi type of marinade). The peanut sauce had a little spice (if you don't have any spice tolerance I would avoid the sauce, but it was sooo good). This was my favorite. - khao soi curry (has egg noodles) and that was delicious. We added the brisket to it which was a good add. DRINKS: - we got complimentary champagne for our anniversary which was so so sweet of them and made our night! The champagne itself was actually one of the best champagnes I have had. It had a nice sweetness to it. - my husband had the thai lager, which he said was okay. It tasted like most lagers he's had. - we shared the tangerine you are my sex machine as it sounded interesting and i do have to say this was the only thing we weren't big fans of. it was very smokey, but my husband put "old boat motor" in my head and that's all we could taste. if you love smokey drinks this would be for you. - I had a house cocktail that I cannot remember the name of for the life of me, but it was sweet, peachy (I think) and had champagne in it from what I remember. It was so good and would get it again! The vibe inside the restaurant was cool and there are over 30 tigers (our server counted for us, but she said she couldn't even find them all).
