With age gradually taking it's toll on my brain capacity, and my retention becoming more and more sievelike as my years progress, it was entirely possible and actual that I would forget to pick up some flowers for a friend on behalf of a few of us. Literally cutting through the markets as this revelation hit me I panicked and then smelt the distinct scent of green. Ping, Lightbulb. I meandered around all the greenery and oooh'd and aaaah'd over what to buy. Lost in complete and utter bafflement as to what constituted a good gift, I thought to myself most flowers die after a week or so, so let's buy a plant. Head pretending I knew what I was doing I was a bit startled when a cheery hello echoed about my ears. I explained my predicament, and my solution and after a laughter she agreed, and after explaining I didn't have too far to walk and I was a tough old bird, I could carry a decent sized plant to the meet point, so thus one was picked out by the lady, based on friend's work schedule and willingness to care for the plant, and after an exchange of notes, off I went with my new purchase, which went down a treat, and I also scored friend points from the receiving friend, and friend points from the other half.
