They look like they came straight out of a wedding magazine! When I first met Marsha we had an instant connection and even shared a teary eyed moment in our first meeting and I knew she was my photographer. She was everything and above! Not only is she an amazing photographer but she also will do above and beyond like fixing your hair/makeup/dress/extra bobbypins/ and even helped me pick stickers out of my dress after one of our pics we took in a vineyard! How do I begin to express how impressed I was with The Photegé!!!! I will start from the beginning ------ In November 2012 Marsha, myself, my husband (at the time he was my fiancé), and his son Nolan took a road trip to Santa Barbara for what we thought would be a day of looking at possible venues for our wedding and maybe if there was time to stop and snap a few pictures just because we were at the beach. Granted when we went we had no idea that our whole engagement session would take place. After having a nice lunch and walking around Marsha found a quaint alley way and hence the magic began!!!! She began to just snap away at the three of us laughing, making silly faces, and simply smiling for the camera. We moved on the one of the venues we were going to check out, the Fess Parker Doubletree. While walking the grounds I realized that Marsha was getting excited like a little girl in a candy shop. I asked her if she like it and with big eyes and a huge smile she said "this is it D!!! This is where u we will finish your engagement pictures!!!" And the rest was history. After returning to Bakersfield, Marsha called to tell me the pictures were up on the website I sat and opened the file. I was in awe of what was produced!!!! All I could think was how lucky I was to have hired a photographer that can capture such true and heartfelt photos. At that point, I began to become the same excited little girl thinking of what Marsha was gonna do for me and my husband on our special day!!! Marsha shot our wedding on June 7, 2013 in San Diego, CA. Durning our special day we were impressed with the professionalism that Marsha displayed and loved that she took charge when I couldn't. Marsha deserves more than 5 stars!!!! I found The Photegé when I was looking up photographers in Bakersfield because I wanted to do a family photo session there. It made a lot of sense to find someone who was a local and knew the area and locations for photo spots. I contacted Marsha after reviewing pictures on her Instagram account and after speaking with her on the phone, there was no hesitation as I knew I wanted to hire her and work with her. I am a mother of 2 and I wanted someone who had experience working with young children. Marsha was the perfect choice because having children of her own, she was able to help me prepare for the shoot and during the shoot, she helped guide my family so that we were able to capture memorable moments that I was actually surprised came out "Beautiful" because my toddler wasn't really cooperating (picture a 3 year old hyper little boy running amuck in an open field). My toddler who is very shy to people he meets the 1st time opened up to Marsha right away and even though he was extremely hyper and wasn't cooperating, she was able to get him distracted a few times so that we were able to get a lot of family picture shots. If you looked at the pictures she took, you wouldn't have known the hard effort Marsha put in to get those shots. As an event planner, I've worked with many amazing talented photographers and Marsha is definitely one of them. Marsha was referred to me by another wedding vendor. Immediately I was drawn to her professionalism and her easy going personality. I first worked with Marsha on a styled shoot we did when I just started my business. Even though I was nervous about the shoot, she made me feel comfortable and confident.
