Now that she's healed I wanted to get her groomed ASAP since she was really bad and our other dog's groomer was booked till the end of the month. I called and she offered and appointment the next day I texted her pics of our dog she offered two different times 12:30pm & 2:00pm, I agree to 2pm she calls and texts the next day to confirm for 12:30pm???? But ok!! I rushed out of work to make it ASAP cause she mentioned she had personal business to take care and wanted to close early. That should have been the a red flag. I understand accidents happen but she has no excuse she rushed through it, our dog wasn't aggressive at all she test the clippers on her skin while we were there and she didn't even move. I also wasn't expecting the best haircut since she was matted but I could have done a better job with out CUTTING, & BURNING our poor dog that's already been through so much in her life. I didn't mind paying for nice decent job but I paid $100 for this HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OUR DOG was put through. The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.
