Julio was the first to answer my request for a quote, and the first to schedule an appointment to see the house. He showed up on time, and I was impressed that as the owner of the business, Julio arrived instead of sending an employee. He told me when he would email me a quote after our meeting, and he sent the quote when he said he would. This is why I chose Julio's Painting beyond his quote, which was reasonable and within my budget. Julio followed through on what he said he would do, which is very important to me in business and in life. My house was initially a garish bright blue, as if the Smurfs had relocated to Northwest Reno. This project was more than a paint job, it was an aesthetic intervention. Within a week from the day that I requested a quote, Julio and José began the process of giving my place a much needed upgrade...to my relief and to that of my neighbors, who stopped by to compliment the evolving exterior facelift of the property. The job would have taken no more than three or four days, but Reno experienced half a week of pouring rain. I wouldn't have asked them to show up on a holiday, but they came by on Labor Day to make up for the lost time caused by the downpour. Even with the weather inconvenience, they were able to complete the job within a week, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Julio and José were punctual, immaculate and took care not to step on my flowers near where they were painting in the front yard. They were mindful of picking up any debris during and after the painting process. I appreciate getting an estimate right on time. I value the fact that they answer their phone and…read moreemails and that they call when on the way to the home. I was just asking for trim boards around the roof of a one story home to be painted. Very little scraping to be done but they are dirty as we get lots of dirt in this location. I specifically asked him is his estimate included washing the boards before painting them. He hesitated and then told me "we can do that". It sounded like he was not going to clean before painting. That is one way the paint will peel in no time. I have no way to know if he was going to do it but his answer led me to believe he had to add more in the estimate. We did not use this company as the estimate was higher than I paid in the past for trim on a home that was this size and one story. Last year I had all the trim boards painted plus a wood fence area off front porch (about 4 ft) on a two story home for less than this company was going to charge. It was a professional company I found on Yelp. So I did not feel like the price was right for the amount of work on this home. I was in property management for 30 years so I have an idea of what need to be done and have kept up with prices. **Yes, I am giving you a review based on your estimate which is fair. I was being nice giving a 3 star but after your comment I am glad I did not use your company. If a 3 star review is not something you can handle, don't reply, it does not look good.

Great affordable house painting option…read more What we were looking for: full coverage color drenching for an older home that needed a clean slate. Walls, baseboards, trim, door and ceiling all the same color but in different sheens. We were not looking for craftsmanship we just didn't have the man hours to get the job done. What we got: fantastic work for the price. All doors, trim, baseboards and ceiling were sprayed. We had a large ceiling crack and cracks around the window frames from settling... all were patched and look great. The work was done in three days. We used sherwin williams Greek villa. Company/ Alberto: easy to work with, knowledgable, English and Spanish speaking. Great hardworking guy. Considerations: because this house will be renovated overspray on flooring, cabinets, and fixtures were a non issue. However, we did not experience any over spray or damaged fixtures as other previously reported in older reviews. We checked on the house one evening as saw everything was tarped off great. So I think it may have been an older issue with the company that has been resolved.

Upon entering small bath to be painted I gave them 2 cans of paint: one for walls and second for door frame and I showed them what needed painting: walls, door frame. Dennis agreed and In bid I stated 'no doors, ceiling or baseboards needs painting'. After 2.5 hours ( they did a great job on walls- were clean and left no mess) but the door frame was not painted. When I asked Dennis about it he said in the bid I put 'no baseboards'. We went back and forth and he agreed to return to paint door frame for another $150! I declined. My suggestion would be to get a contract clear and concise in writing from these guys! I learned afterwards, they are employees of Tahoe Paint, but the owner allowed employees to take side jobs on the holiday utilizing the company equipment. This explains too why they only accepted cash.
